Hajaz, you should completely rig up the seat with a seat belt too, cause I can see in the pics you've already got part of it.

Might want to contain yourself when GT4 finally comes, I know I will have to

Code Dont forget to add Twin Stainles steel big bore exhuast pipes to the options list.
As well as a Roll Cage and fire extinguisher.

and to make it realistic, add a seat for your wife or mother in law, so they can shout at you not to drive so quickly around the round-abouts :sly:

At the moment i use a wheel that does not have force feedback, so i can sit it on my lap. With the GT Force Pro i know i cant put it on my lap and i dont have any sort of desk to clamp it to. Although i dont have alot of room ill have to make way with something to build it.

I look forward to building it, im not too shabby with building things, especially with MDF, and since MDF isnt too expensive and i can do labour myself it should be pretty cheap not including a seat and wheel of course.

The best one I have seen is the BRD GameFrame as seen here: http://www.interactiveracing.com/Chassis_Systems/Game_Frame/

I haven't seen it mentioned on this board before, but it seems like the best solution for a non-permanent setup, in a dorm for example. You can move it so it will fit pretty much any sitting position and it collapses down to a really small size:

The only downside is the cost. The cheapest I have seen it is $230.00. If anyone knows a place to get it cheaper than that it would be cool, or maybe we can all talk to them and try and get a group discount if anyone is interested.

........I want that one!!!.......or actually the one that PD has (subaru one that goes up and down!)

Martin your FREX seq. shifter you have. To up shift do you pull back?

Also I don't have the GT Force Pro yet. To up shift with this do you pull back?

Thanks

I can highly recommend the race base mk3 cockpit. I opted for this one over the frex because it is more adjustable and nearly fully adjustable inside the cockpit so you’re always guaranteed great ergonomics for you and your mates. Although the frex cockpit does include a real car seat. With the moulded seat and monitor stand the price is a bit high but worth it when you add up the hours of enjoyment. Plus it looks really hot after my panel beater painted it in 2pac GTR R34 blue (dosen’t look like an eye saw in the house).

It's awesome to be able to flick a switch, jump in and play GT4 prologue with the new wheel anytime I want. I only wish the PS2/GT would support Dolby 5.1 so I could setup surround sound.

I purchased and returned a Logitech 5.1 Sound Pack for the PS2. The surround sound wasn't much better than my Sony Wega TV and DVD movies or games would not engage the 5.1 surround sound. Regardless of Sony's claim I have never heard of anyone getting true 5.1 surround sound from a PS2. I hope you can correct me.

i get 5.1 surround sound by pluging my PS2 up to a sony amp by using the optic cabe. sounds great for movies. and the prologic from the games is pretty good aswell it uses 5.1 speakers

I used an optical cable, too. I think that is the only way the PS2 works with surround sound.

The race start-up SE are very annoying, but, otherwise, it works fine.

Cheers,

MasterGT

I used an optical cable as well to connect my PS2 to a DD 5.1 decoder/amp. When I loaded a DVD with DD 5.1 it would only detect Dolby Surround, which is effectively stereo across 5 speakers to me. I could not get the decoder to detect DD 5.1 and separate sound across each speaker.

When I returned the kit, the shop advised that other PS2 owners have had the same problem and buy an Xbox if I want true DD 5.1 from a console.

I might try connecting my PS2 through my home theatre system to see if I get a different result.

have you checked in the playstation 2 options to set it to "digital optical out"
if you havent done that that will be your problem

Yeah, I followed the PS2 connection instructions and selected optical out. I could only get surround sound via this connection.

If people are playing GT3 DD 5.1, is it worth the upgrade?

for GT3 you can only get DD Prolgic, as with all ps2 games.

you can only get DD 5.1 with DVDs through your PS2.

GT3 still sounds good on Prologic

Hi 0100,

The up/down shift pattern can be changed under "control settings".

With the DFP, you get the "pull-upshift/ push-downshift" as default. When you install the Frex shifter, this pattern is reversed. But you can restore the pull-up & push-down by changing the control settings under "options".

Regards to all

after seeing the frex system im thinking of doing a hybrid of that as in the accesories minus the cockpit and the mk3 of the racebase if possible

The only game that made use of 5.1 on PS2 was Metal Gear Solid, and that was only in certain video sections.

GT is only playable in Pro Logic surround mode.
However with my 5.1 Setup It sounds great, especially when i turn up the sub bass.
