I felt the same way, initially.

What I do now is ignore the results of a race and just enjoy the game and try to improve my skills. I know it’s counter-intuitive for a racing game (and many people will argue against me for this way of thinking), but who says you need to win all the time? The game is meant to be brutally difficult and it only becomes frustrating if you think you need to score podium position all the time.

I am not good at the game, but I turn off the HUD and just have a good time. 👍

I agree with you SGhill911. I think you just ignore the rediculous AI times and enjoy a nice drive. I totally disgree with you flatdarkmars.You cant get that much better because the AI is out of this world. .

You need to reconsider your idea of what's possible. I regularly beat the AI on various difficulty levels. I think I'm a pretty good driver, but I'm definitely not one of the very fastest drivers in the game. I can consistently place in the top tier of the Daily/Weekly/Monthly events, but obviously there are still many players who are faster than me. I almost always win the AI Challenges, sometimes by absurdly large margins (>1 minute), and in Free Play I can always find a difficulty level that gives me a good challenge while still having a chance to win.

With practice and experience, you CAN beat the AI. Unless of course you give up and don't even try to challenge yourself to improve your skills.

I turn off the HUD and just have a good time. 👍

This is good advice. I get my best results when I just concentrate on driving at my own best pace. If I drive with the progress ribbon and timing data on, then I find it distracting and I increase my risk of making mistakes if I feel I have to push extra hard to make up time I may have lost in one sector. Early on in the first DiRT Rally I learned to turn off those HUD elements and just concentrate on driving clean.

Really funny . I can run better at the higher difficulty settings than the easier settings. I don't think codies knows the difference.

Try not being so triggered. Yes, Don shows his maturity level with his comments, however, this is the internet, better to just move on than waste energy typing a reply to such ignorance. It doesnt go far in making you the bigger person letting such things get under your skin.
