AI's braking is ridiculous.

Ok this seriously needs looking into the AI is imho broken and needs fixing , the AI are braking far to early and with such force the rear wheels are lifting at least 2ft of the ground it looks ridiculous and because of this early braking its making the AI way too easy to beat .I just done a race on matterhorn with a honda fit ( stock ) and wiped the floor with an M3 its just daft.

Im loving this game but this braking fault is killing it for me , I really can't see how this passed tests the AI are the slowest ive ever raced against in any racing game and this force from god braking is only making them worse.

[quote="Force-Feedback, post: 9039580, member: 85968"They still wimp out when coming out of corners, i was literally pushing another car just to make it through the corner, bring on GTR2/RACE 07 (any simbin game) A.I.![/quote]

But surely PD cannot let this game go on like this , Ive just done another in my little fit up against an evo 8 and again the force of the evo braking lifted its rear wheels right off the ground and it was way to early , my stock fit is thrashing 300 +bhp machines its silly.

Yeah the ai is slow and stupid as usual. You have to race them with a car 1/10 as fast to make it fun in career mode anyways..

All joking a side though lads , the force at which they brake is lifting the rear of there cars of the ground by about 2ft . The AI is broken.

I believe that the AI is very adamant about using the Ideal line (as depicted if you use that aid), and that is almost always telling you to break that early as well. It's not ideal by far, and it seemes oddly wrong, even compared to earlier GT games. There probably is some kind of coding glitch with the new physics system...

The game was developed for many people, not only for geeks and superb drivers. There are many people for whom game is hard to beat.
Try cars with smaller PP or go online with adequate opponents or try to win GT Academy....GT's sandbox has many ways to master and get fun and/or challenge

Exactly, which is being solved for years now by having a simple ai slider rather than having to "sacrifice" one group of people for the other.

Try cars with smaller PP or go online with adequate opponents or try to win GT Academy....

Or maybe we could start cutting off our thumbs, playing upside-down or using blindfolds.

I get that, but perhaps PD should implement the difficulty slider for career mode to satisfy everyone. Can't be that hard since it's already in the game?

It looks like you didn't play GT5?! Situation in GT5 is the same with AI, may be even worse.
Slider? And which result of using it do you expect? That with level "God" or somewhat of AI you couldn't even pass one car with the same PP during 3 laps from last place! In reality situation will be similar to this.
Target in GT most races - to make 1st from last, to win these 10-20 seconds between you and 1st during few laps. With superb AI you couldn't do it. And for winning you'll start to tune every car to monster or use car with more PP.
AI cars must be slower than you to let you win in little time. You need make laps 5-7 seconds faster than 1st. That's why AI push acceleration slowly to 100% and push brakes earlier

Then what's the point of racing against other cars? They're just obstacles in this scenario.

This is one of the ways that GT makes for a nice driving simulation but a poor game. Not having an option to adjust the AI is just poor game design, plain and simple. This is one of the many areas where PD needs to be taking notes from what the other guys are doing, because there's a lot of things that they evidently continue doing totally wrong.

What has this got to do with the force that the AI are capable of braking at IE so much force that Its lifting the rear wheels 2ft off the ground ?

Haven't seen them brake so hard that their rear tires lift off of the ground, but they do brake very early.. The AI definitely didn't get any better since GT5.

Took a picture of this yesterday, the Mito was doing it all over Grand Valley. (Note that he hasn't even reached maximum lift-off yet)

Thats what im talking about , and look how far away from the bend he is, thats a sweeping right hander that sort of braking is A un natural and B un necessary, the AI are broken in this game and it needs to be addressed.

Does the car instantaneously spin if you try to steer under that lifted rear axle state?

I've seen the AI lift it's rear wheels while breaking too.

In my opinion, the AI is generally much more fun to race against vs. GT5.At least the AI cars aren't in a big conga-line like slot cars in this iteration. But if you are PP matched with them, you'll stomp them.

When I did the first Grand Valley Race with the Fit, I braked too hard and ended up lifting the rear by like 3 feet.

Seriously was a "Jesus take the wheel!" moment.

Let's be honest here and recognize that the AI always brake conservatively compared to real people.

That said...

I swear the AI in the Carina in the Sunday Cup at Autumn was just brake-checking me. :odd: :boggled:

Go do the Italian Races and watch some of the cars at Monaco. One car in front of me going round at Casino braked so hard, the back end nearly landed on my bonnet!!! They brake too hard and too early on every track, and just end up being an obstacle. Never seen AI this bad before!
