Akasaka Grand Prix -Ciro from the Giro steals 1st!

Right, I have bad, worse, and very bad news. Starting from the back of it, I still don't know if I'll be able to do it with good connection. I also don't know if I can do it all at my mom's place (long story short, they're not really friendly of the time I chose for the race, so I haven't bothered to tell them yet). Now for the better news: it's Friday 13 :scared:

bad news, I knew Fri the 13TH would come so the problem is my wifi connection would be down after 4hrs

Should have a practice room up some time after 2:00pm BST. If anyone wants to join just send an FR to marunda. 👍

I'll join in about 2 hours...

I just found out that BST and Austrian Time are the same :banghead:, is it? I am not sure... right now it is 14:10 in Austria...

Got my alarm set for 9 a.m. tomorrow morning for the race. Safety Car is going to be a wee bit sleepy I can tell you that much. Rally if I do not show up (slept in) you can kick me in the teeth... I should be there though I'm generally good with time management.

EDIT: who should I add to get in the race room?

Am going to set up a room now, i'll make it a private lobby since I don't want to be kicking randoms who can't read out every 2 minutes. So if you want to join you'll need to add me. 👍

EDIT:
Scrap that, I'll make it a public lobby so everyone can join. 👍

I know that feeling redbull :) preferably as many as somehow possible 👍

Also, I definitely won't do it on the good one (seems the wound's opened again and needs yet another operation :dunce: ), so the plans are following:

1: talk to parents and hopefully make a deal
2: save up the first hour by not playing today and an additional hour on Sunday (that's what it takes)
3: race and win (:sly:)
4: if I DC and can't reconnect, somebody save the replay, upload it and share it here

That's it for now. I really don't want to post-pone it

Just netted a 1:41.635, lost a couple of tenths being too cautious in the chicane though. 👍

Is this going ahead tmw?

Yes, with or without me 👍

Now 1:41.102. :D

Predictions based on this:

GGT would likely take a few seconds on BST cars every lap, depending on tyre wear. GT300 remains the unknown variable in race pace with tyre wear. I predict GGT to take the win, BST cars not too far behind, GT300 with a Top 5 potential, and ITCC cars closing the party

I wouldn't be so sure, the BST SLS has 22 more hp and only 10 more kg than the G-GT one so I'm sure Gedi has more left in the tank. ;)

Possibly, only time will tell, but either way, it's gonna be close.

Just spoke to my parents about tomorrow, and it seems at least the start is no problem. My biggest concern now is Roman (my fat PS3) not loading GT and the network going AWOL :scared:

ImmalovemaGTR

What? It's fat, stubborn, does the exact opposite of what I tell it to (except when I threaten him with cutting the power :D ), and most of all, it apparently hates Gran Turismo. Long story short, I can't wait to see it's face when I introduce it to GT6

Anyway, enough off-topic jibber-jabber, may have time for a short test, and may only be the 30 minutes early for the race tomorrow. But, do we need 30 minutes of qualifying, or would 10/15 suffice?

I'll be fine with 15 minutes, because I'll be on the last place, whatever happens

As I said, don't expect very much competition from me... I am going to give my best, but my best time ever recorded was 1'48''4XX... I don't think I can compete against other GT300ers... :dopey:

All I'm saying is that as of right now, it seems GGT will be slightly faster than BST, but the question is still tyre wear: lots of fast laps and more stops or slower, smoother laps and less stops? That's what you'll need to decide on, that's the appeal of races in the 1-2 hour duration window 👍

Considering that the SLS is faster than the GT-R in G-GT, and then add that the BST SLS has more power:weight, I wouldn't be surprised if Gedi was in the 40s or better.

Tyre wear is still the main factor. The race isn't short enough to go balls out in every lap, but not long enough to nurse the tyres as were they babies. It's about finding the right compromise. As for myself, I have a strategy that may work :sly:

i will show 1 card.... i can do consistant 42's 43's for 18 laps

Yikes! What do we say we just give Gedi the BST trophy and go home now?

Most of the time, I'll be in the high 43's to 44's. But that too is pretty consistant. Looks like tyres will have to help me a bit 👍
