Hi I am Drew and in real life I own an 86 subaru Alcyone XT that is soon to have a 2.5 RS swap....

anyway...

anybody interested in an SVX tournament?

👍

Midfield sounds good.

Are there any restrictions on parts, upgrades and the like?

Perhaps (just as a suggestion) more people would try it if the rules were laid out beforehand. I know that there may be a couple of Alcyone/SVX fans like yourself out there...

okay so let's let the first race be midfield
stock SVX other than the gear box upgrade because everyone knows SVX autos blow and you need to put a five speed in.:sly:

Count me in. Yes, that's right! This sounds interesting. No hybrids, tho....I can't do that. But I'll do stock or tuned stuff.
Sure.

So..you're saying STOCK EXCEPT FOR TRANNY TUNING. That sounds cool. Gimme a day or 2 and I'll get a time up.

cool stock except tranny tuning... just so we don't have to deal with those long freakin' gears!

we'll raise the stakes later!

Ok, after my first run with the LSi, I ran a 1:29.550 with several unintentional drifts and one big slide. This car is kinda fun mostly stock.

yeah I had a rough time with the tranny tuning... but finally got a gearing that wasn't too short or too tall.

I want to go in and get the RA gear ratios and apply them to the SVX would make it similar to a 2.5RS tranny swap...

Before I join, I have 2 questions:
-Which SVX should we use? The S4 or LSi?
-Only trannsmission tuning allowed right? Does that mean only gearbox tuning or can we also tune the clutch, flywheel, driveshaft and LSD?

I only did the transmission...

I was thinking... the most awesome thing that usually gets done to an SVX in real life is a five speed swap... or a swap to 4.44gears in the auto..

so making it five speed is realistic.

So that means only the Fully Customizable gearbox is allowed as the tuning right?

oh use which ever car you want

I prefer the LSi for the black trunk.. I don't like them all one color.

I see, thanks :). Isn't the S4 a better choice performance-wise though? Since it's lighter if I remember correctly.

I'll get a time sometime later or tomorrow.

the S4 is slightly lighter.. but I don't think it really changes much.

I used the fully customizable tranny but heck... use whichever one you want.

Okay I'm finally here. :scared: Late for the party as usual.

I didn't have an SVX on any of my surviving PS1 memory cards, which means I had to buy it. And it took a total of 19 days to find the used LSi. That means 19 days of entering and exiting one of the races to make each day advance. :grumpy: And I thought GT4 was slow....:ouch: And then, I forgot you have to switch discs to get to the time-trial lap counter mode. :banghead:

Just kidding. I'm making it sound worse than it is.

1:28.065

limit? we'll do the track a few times? I am new at this so bear with me..

I plan on running again to try and get a better time..

i need to go get a USB controller....

evrybody spend this week getting your best time.
then we'll do a "stage one" mod package and either change tracks or stay on the midfield
a while longer.. not sure yet..

Not sure what you mean by limit. Maybe a limit of laps would be cool...like you have to get your best time within a certain number of laps.

By the way...I'm waiting for the pics I just took with my cell to show up in my email so I can display my lap times. TMobile/MSN swaps (cell to internet) take awhile unfortunately. :(

I also did a Subaru swap, by the way! :D A '98 Impreza STi Type R tranny looks like this:

3.083
2.062
1.545
1.151
0.825

Final: 4.444

Decided to try again today and see if I could run a better lap, and this came out:

midfield127713.jpg

1:27:713

Looking at the sector times, I could probably shave off another second or two. But...I'm pretty sure this is the best I can do right now with the car as it is.

1:26:593 @ 125.20 mph

I'm in the S4 though, and being ~60 pounds lighter no doubt helps my lap time a bit.

Yeah, this was from an LSi 1:27.050...I wanna try an S4 tomorrow...my nerves are shot at the moment. :nervous:

Hmm...I think I need to get an S4 and see if I can run a faster time. I wasn't satisfied with the transmission tuning either.

It was nice, being number one. Even if it lasted for just ten hours... *melodramatic sigh*

Hey nice website you got there.

I'm sure one of us could hack an even lower time, dude. Even at 1:27.050, my time wasn't as absolutely low as I could get it. I still had a minor moment of teeth-gritting understeer in that first turn after the straight  and got slightly too sideways as I entered the first tunnel. :banghead:

...I'm sure you know how it is...one lap you blow a couple corners yet master a couple more. Next lap, you blow the ones you just mastered, but you slam-dunk the ones you previously sucked on. It's hard getting all of them 100%.
