We all still good for later? Been quiet in this thread... I expect you've all Been enjoying the senna content :D

We all still good for later?
Sure! Seems we are going to have a nice crowd tonight if everyone can make it 👍

I think this goes without saying but we have had pretty much 100% clean club so would be great to finish it same way :D

I trust everyone here know better but I joined a public race at Monaco few days ago. Maybe that is why these things are on my mind

So few points:

Point 1: Lap 1, Turn 1
Keep calm. There is total of one hour of racing ahead. You can only ruin someone's game here.

Point 2: Nouvelle Chicane
Safety. Pressure is ok but no forcing to error braking late here, please.

Point 3: Walls
If you hit a wall because of your own error and cars are behind you, try to hug the wall instead of bouncing back to center of road.

If anyone has something to comment or add, please let us know! And lets have a clean fun races :)

I finished the 2 first Senna events with gold. Could not finish a single lap in the last :embarrassed: Also been grinding money in the Drift seasonal event :D

I still have yet to work up the courage to join a public lobby. :sly:

Good points, I would only add:

Station Hairpin. Setup and entry is wide, please don't divebomb here. 👍

Public lobby's aren't always bad. I've joined a regular karting room several times over the last few months (same host) and had mostly excellent racing. It's like anything else in life, the room is only as good as the people involved (unfortunately a lot of them have idiot people in there who aren't there for serious racing). Most of the time it's not worth effort of finding a good room, which is why I organize my own racing through here. 👍

And I strongly support your divebomb comment. I really despise when people disrespect the leading driver's line and try to dive bomb them on every turn requiring a late apex. I had this happen several times at Spa on Tuesday and I was rather irate about it. I take a late apex often, on a lot of track, and that doesn't mean I've screwed up or left the door open for someone to pass. Quite the opposite, once I've committed to a late apex I don't have a lot of other options and when a car suddenly appears in the only place I can put my car........:banghead:

EDIT: Oh, and I plan on being there, though I can't be there until about 90 minutes from now. And I haven't gotten a proper chance to play with the Senna stuff yet so I'll be itching to jump in them as soon as we're done.

^ hmmm... I agree divebombing =.... but as someone once said

if you no longer go for a gap that exists, you are no longer a racing driver...."

Some one famous I think!! :sly:

The difference I think is, if your close enough to position yourself in the right place (inside or wherever) then fair game... but if you have to make the move from waaaaaay back, then goodbye.

The one that annoys me is recieving a tap up the bum as I'm starting my breaking.... if you gonna follow me that close into the breaking zone what do you expect, which is then generally followed by a rough fumbling through the corner for position... the school prom date I'll call it!

Exactly!

We have drivers of different skill levels in this Club so this is especially important to notice because not everyone has the same braking mark. Tonight the second race with reversed grid will be slightly longer so there should be time to practice defensive driving and passing strategies ;)

edit: server will be up in one our. Qualification (Practice) for first race will start about an hour and half form now at 10pm GMT (BST is GMT+1 right?)

Yes, someone famous for being a bit of a jerkwad at times on the track. ;) :) I respect his speed and talent, but don't have much time for much of what he might say about on-track behaviour. :sly:

This is one reason why I usually pull out of line a little bit coming up to the braking zone when I'm right up someone's bumper -- I'm not usually trying to 'show the nose' and be annoying, but rather making sure I don't wind up being that person delivering the tap.

Lately I've also started easing into the brakes a bit earlier when it's clear there's no passing opportunity -- so long as there's no-one right in my exhaust as well, that is.

^ yeah, here is a quick demo from the man himself about "going for a gap" :sly:

Personally, I think that one is bit of a borderline case. Senna had nose next to Prost before the turn in. I have given way 10 out 10 times in those situations but I am too easy to pass :D

Love him or hate hate him, either way an honest man can at least give respect, especially when you see just how fast you have to drive to match his lap times... and we only face danger of a saw thumb!!!

I've raced many laps with you guys now and you all have my respect, mistakes happen it's only natural, but I know I'm in good company looking forward to racing soon

This on the other hand... :D

Just LOVE that on board footage and that awesome sound..., if only PD, if only!

Edit: just look at how crowded those pits were as well! Madness!

It was fun racing. I think I was able to reproduce both the examples from the Senna videos as well as the closing door of Prost

First race first lap. Did not realize it at the moment but seeing the replay I hit King pretty bad. Sorry king, completely missed you there. I think at the moment I thought someone nudged me from behind but it was me ramming to your side :/ I thought I saw a blackish S2K in the rear view mirror and just assumed the right side was clear

Second race I nudged jonn from behind when braking to the chicane bit later than him and did a kamikazeish pass of him bit later... (edit: seeing the replay nothing kamikaze about it, we almost stopped for the chicane :D)

So all in all not my best day of racing. I blame it on Senna Content and Drifting Grinding and to the fact that I was pretty tired...

Results coming soon!

Hi guys, sorry for my poor driving. Cu3e, I did tap you on the 1st race I think. Really need to pack in some practice to get to the 2:00 mark. Thanks for the race.
