This thread was created with the permission of daan on the condition that we stay ON TOPIC.
I told you so. :P

Now that that's out of the way, we'll use this thread to discuss class combos, testing, and homologation.

I think that we've decided on LMP, GT, and GTC.
But I still have not completely ruled out LMP, GT1, and GT2.
Having GT1 would allow to have some race cars in the GT classes (M3 GTR, C5-R, Ford GT LM Spec II, and perhaps the Panoz and XJ220 LM Race Car), and still have the entire current ALMS grid in GT2 (Vette, Bimmer, Porsche sort of, Jag, Ford GT, and 458).
Having two GT classes would also mean we'd slow down GT2 so the BMW and Jaguar are competitive. Weight limit will be bumped up to at least 1300 KG in GT(2) regardless.
This will mean a GTC class will be exceptionally slow.

I'll continue to test in LMP.
I will host a room on Friday at the usual time where we can have races and judge which cars need extra HP and which ones need less.

Again, please stay ON TOPIC.

Does anyone know this is here? :P

Have you considered LMPC? Could solve the speed issue and keep it closer to real ALMS. Maybe just one specific LMP car raced to spec? Just a thought. Could be fun!

No chance of running the F1 unclassified and just going for overall points?

If there's room, which there usually is, the F1 can run unclassified.

So I'd be able to run it at the BPR GT1 spec then? And who would I qualify with? (LMP or GT quali?)

We're going to do mixed qualy since it takes less time.
You can run at whatever spec you want.
But you're the only one since you've been fussing so much about it. :P

But at the start, you're going to have to start at the back. With a thirty or so second delay.

...So whats the point of me qualifying when I'm getting stuck at the back with a time penalty? Either I qualify for a grid spot or start from the pits.

I guess you don't have to qualify.
So you can sleep later, right?

yeah but chrome looks cooler. Did one with red.chrome and one with yellow.silver. Think I'm going with the m3 this season though. Especially with weight variants it seems to be one of the few that will be naturally balanced.

Can you post up lap times from this session and what track please?

I forget...
But I've gotten a spec for the two Audis...

The R10 is 700 HP
The R8 '05 is 670.
The rest are 680 as of now. All cars are 950 KG.

In LMP that is.

What was wrong with 1250

The M3 and XKR are uncompetitive.
Also, I'm still not sure if we should do GT1/GT2 or GT/GTC.

My vote is for GT1/GT2.

GT1/GT2 add a poll
Would CLK-LM Be allowed?
If so forget A and B licenses, I'll need a pilots license! :dopey:

Hahahaha.
No the CLK-GTR will not be allowed.

There's an epic Nicholas Watts painting of that car flipping I'll see if I can find it...

There's a video of Dumbreck taking flight and subsequently being punished for trying to cheat (yes I know it was aerodynamically unstable and that's what caused it to flip when the nose bottomed out over a bump and sent it flipping) on youtube, not hard to find...kinda like the 911 GT1 doing the same thing at Road America (iirc).

Fixed.

I'm drafting up an OP now...

Knew it was one or the other. That reminds me, has a McLaren F1 GTR ever flipped like the CLK-GTR and 911 GT1 have? :sly:
