Took me 3 laps to get the gold. I like the car and how it handles, and indeed I like Midfield, so I'll return to this event as soon as I can!

I'm finding this one quite hard. Needed to work to find a good line. Hit 1:06.8 after 12-15 laps or so.

I think breaking into the 05s is my limit. Really don't know what sort of dark magic Wolf_Aono is weaving on this one.

Slightly off topic (apologies) but am I the only one who sees the rear air brakes as a major design flaw... what happens when someone tries to overtake that car into a braking corner and clips those things off as they extend outwards.... (i know there is no damage in the game so it won't matter) ... but from a design point of view...why?...
Other than that... i really like the fact we got two versions (2 time trials) and kudos for using one of the new tracks ... at least it something to play around whilst waiting for the tranny/clutch bug to be fixed.
Safe Driving ☺

I'm surprised that so many dislike the handling of this car (and it's sister). They definitely understeer under acceleration and going over curbs unsettles the car, but I'm finding them enjoyable to drive. That FT-1 VGT on the other hand... :banghead:

They go straight through it with no contact.
I think he's alluding to their real life practicality; or lack of to be precise.

I would put a toggle control somewhere for those. On for time attack and off for races. In GT it doesn't matter. But there is the existing standard / racing brakes thing, it could be applied differently on this one.

Oh and 65.339, same as @graveltrap

For your DS3 users like myself (I still use the classic X and square buttons) the trick it so brake early and square up the corner. I was about to manage 1.06.995 to get gold. The car pushes very bad so always try to use a inside line to allow it to drift out if need be. Took me a while but it is possible.

Another 5 or 6 laps gave me a 1:05.8xx. There is certainly more to be found.
Amazing how late you can brake with this car.

DS3+X+Square here as well, yet I'm not finding the understeer that bad. Have you set Steering Sensitivity to 7? It helps make the car turn. Also I think you meant brake late, right?

1:04.100 thus far.
Awesome lap. 👍

For now Wolf is winning, but than TRL_holl01 will take it

I struggled at first, also DS3 and square and x buttons, changed steering sensitivity to 3 ( I'm normally on 0 ) as the first double right I was losing a lot of time, this worked for me.
And so for me, steering to 3 (normally -2) and some more practice, getting the first corners right and the hairpin finally busted through.

0 tcs and shifting at 6500 rpm gave me half a sec. 1:05.016. I lose most of time in the last corner before tunnel two. Wich also means I'm down on speed on the main straight...

TRL_holl01 took the lead, but he needs steering help. Wolf_aono is still the number 1 for me.
Yeah i didn't think he would do that very sad :(
But i also notice Wolf was useing handbrake, but i think his 03.036 he didn't lucky
I wouldn't think that AS would be much of an aid with this car.
Active steering helps too much that i compared the 2 TRL Australian lap times as TRL_beau infront till last corner where holl01 just gets big AS help and bets him
TRL_beau winning in my world lol.

I agree with StirlingMoose 👍 Unfortunate for the pad users but it feels great on the wheel other than turn 1 where it's a bit awkward... Good combo

Yeah i started this seasonal using a controller with directional buttons (old Skool) just managed to get gold, but it was very difficult, used my wheel last night got down to 1:05.504, took 2 corners wrong so hopefully i can improve

Update just got 1:05.329

1:05.053 did this with my THC account name,

Hello there, peeps of GTPlanet.

Can I just say, what a joy it is for me to be able to get back to GT6 only to find that PD have added one of my all-time favourite original tracks to the game, and it's also included in a current seasonal event. I quite like the car, too - its handling kind of remind me of a 1999 Pennzoil GT-R GT, a car in which I spent hours as a kid, not being able to gold the licence test at this very track (it was GT2, I believe).

So, I dusted off my old MOMO Wingman and did some laps. Managed to do 1:04.3 which means I'm currently sat at 260th. I usually find my limit very quickly, but with a bit of luck I should be able to squeeze in the top 250.

As for the track itself, it brings such good memories... the layout's fast and simple and I really love it. Great, great event.

Update: Further improvements thanks to - not sure if strangely or not - following Wolf_Aono's footsteps. Analysing holl01's lap brought me nowhere, even though their times are virtually the same. 83rd place with 1:03.8 so far.

Update 2: Here are the results after having one beer and turning the ABS off:
43rd fastest overall with 1:03.720
3rd
fastest guy without a 900° controller
1st time without aids
1st Pole. :D

Not sure if it was the beer (some girly raspberry plonk my sister gave me, awful stuff) or ABS. Still a little room for improvement as it's way easier to put the car sideways without braking aids.

My sympathy to the controller users here. It handles just fine with a wheel. In fact this is probably my favourite from all the VGT events. The other two were not my taste at all, just did enough for gold, but I spent about an hour on this one and got down to 1:04.6.
The red line is your enemy here. Shifting at 6.5k rather than 7k will gain you half a second. In the corners you need to be one gear higher than feels natural.

Thanks for the tip. Shifting at 6500 rpm, was one things that helped me a lot.
Thanks @StirlingMoose

Best lap are now at 1:06,131:cheers:

But I know I can cut some seconds off the laps. If I am able to learn how to take the turns a bit smoother...

1'03.887 (107th).

Times are so close on this one - another 0.1 would gain me 40+ places, but the car is not very nice to drive (too understeery), so not sure I'll have much motivation to try and improve again.

Well whoever having troubles with this event 1 of the top 10 drivers did a live lap it maybe help use.

Thanks for posting this. Pretty smooth driving. It's helped me realize I have no natural abilities for racing. I have no feel for the tracks - or the cars for that matter. I don't get driving lines and always rely on others' lines. I have no consistency and am frustrated most of the time. I guess I just do it for the rush. Time to get a new hobby.

I know that feeling. :(

40+ places for a measly 0.1 secs? :boggled: Come on, you can do it!

I know, I know. Easy for me to say.
