Well, if there aren't enough PS5s...

However, I don't believe it'll be on both consoles. Even if current PS5 users can play GTS versus PS4 users.

80 euro?

At least they had the decency to put "art not final" on the box, though that would look pretty good IMO.

Zero chance for a PS4 release.

December 31st...doesn't mean anything, definitely not releasing on the last day of the year, obviously...

After the words of Jim Ryan in Last time, that the Millions of PS4-gamers are important over the next years, i wouldn“t exclude, that Sony had given their Studios the decision to bring PS4-Versions of the upcomming games, too, and GT7 is a upcomming Game.

According to Sony, GT7 is a exclusive PS5 game. I wish that PD make a PS4 version but, at the moment, GT7 will be only in PS5. Maybe PD says in the future:"hey, GT7 will be in PS4 too". However, i am not seeing it possible

Why would they release it on a last-gen console? It's got ray tracing, would it be as simple as turning it off for the PS4 to make it run at a stable fps? I very much doubt they'd do it... Somehow I feel like it would hold the PS5 version back. Just...no, please no.

Again, you could ask that same question about Horizon Forbidden West. The answer to that one is that development started in 2017 and was originally intended as a PS4 game.

Not saying it is, but the same could easily be true of GT7.

Ratchet Clank only is listed as PS5-Title. And there the developers itself have confirmed it. I hadnt heard from PD itself That only PS5 comes. They have spoken about the new features what PS5 brings with, But on the other hand no PS4 release excluded. I mean one trailer said, exlusive for Playstation System

The Playstation website has it listed only for PS5.

It would probably look worse than GTS on PS4 since they'd have to get rid of the pre-baked ray tracing for dynamic weather and time of day to work, assuming they're in GT7.

I'm still going with there being a PS4 version with Daytona and the snow track having static time and weather settings, these two were added in 2020, deep into GT7 development.

So there's either a PS4 version or GT7 on PS5 is still missing dynamic time and weather

Added where?

There is no Daytona in GT Sport, but we saw it in the GT7 trailer. I dunno what snow track you're talking about...

There won't be a PS4 version. In my case, the only reason I ever bought any PlayStation console was because of Gran Turismo. I'm not gonna say it's like that for any other Gran Turismo players, but since Polyphony Digital is literally part of Sony, I doubt they're gonna make a PS4 version, especially after the recent end of PS4 production. They're gonna want to sell the PS5. They're never gonna release it on the PS4.

He's a data miner. Check the wish list thread for his findings.

Stuff like that does make me wonder if my prediction about Sport being turned into a "lite" version of GT7 via a major update is coming true, really... -shrug-

Both were added to the GT Sport track data (early 2020)

That doesn't really mean anything other than something to do with these two tracks being involved in GT development, most likely testing for GT7. GTPSP has an entry for Red Rock Valley and a few other tracks that don't actually appear in the game in any way, even when hacking.

He is right, after all. The data was added to GT Sport, but he didn't mention at all that is available to everyone, nor you can cheat it in order to play it.

I'm hoping that GT7 isn't a game that is possible on PS4 hardware.

It is very likely possible but once again this comes down to people hoping that it will come to PS4.

This is a flagship title that Sony want to sell as many PS5's for (when people can finally get hold of one!)

My view has been commented before as I will not be happy if it gets PS4 release because I put so much effort into actually getting a PS5 at launch so I'm ready for the game but Sony have already corrected a video to say PS5 Exclusive and the info on the PlayStation website for GT 7 also only shows PS5.

The official announcement or next trailer will hopefully finally put all these discussions to bed, just to be clear I will moan if it does get a last minute change of plan and out on the PS4 but I would never want my fellow gamers to be denied the chance to play GT7 if it can be done on PS4.

Also that pre-order page PS5 is SOLD OUT already...:)

I'm not even remotely an expert but I really hope they don't include ray tracing in the actual driving areas. Unless the engineers at Polyphony are absolute miracle workers, the implementation of ray tracing may be too expensive to improve the things we really want improved, like the tire physics.

The PS5 is as strong as the current high-end gaming PCs...it can handle it.

As far as physics go, the problem in GTS is the lack of surface detail in force-feedback. It's like sponge tires on a sponge road. ...Maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but it's just not right. I just end up using the motion controls on the DS4 instead...

Framerate and input latency is another big thing. 120fps absolutely must be an option now that it's possible without negatively impacting graphics. The difference in input lag between 60 and 120 fps is massive, even on a 60Hz display. It makes the difference between catching a slide and fishtailing into a barrier.

Do you think there is a possibility that GT7's supposed focus on using haptic feedback in the dualsense to relay the road texture is a step in the right direction?

The consoles use AMD, who are a ways behind Nvidia re: ray tracing. Insomniac's Spider-Man Miles Morales pulled off a (dynamic res)1440p 60fps with RTX in an open world game so I'm sure Polyphony will do some good work but if we do see 120fps (I sure hope so), we can certainly say goodbye to the raytracing in that mode. Black Ops couldn't do it in their 120hz mode.

The PS5 cannot compete or is as strong as "High End" PC's and that is very subjective anyways, as what is a high end PC, a ray-tracing capable GPU like 3090 or a 16 core CPU AMD/INTEL setup that will handle the computations needed and mutli-threading, which the APU of the SONY PS5 will lack and use a workaround to accomplish.

The only benefit with PS5 is the ultra quick SSD as I have seen online how Spider-man remastered loads in at least 50-60% quicker than the original game on the PS4. Its lighting fast and imagine how that could work for Scapes, Track loads and Grid setup, and even Pit lane changes.

I think realistically the console will do 4k (2160p) at 60fps with ray-tracing enabled. Sony will want reliability with the title and not have technical issues plague the game release. I'm sure Kaz would want to do it this way to ensure play-ability and reliability with the brand.

Maybe we can have a special mode for 120fps on certain tracks ala GRAN TURISMO 1 with its hidden like "60fps HIFI mode"?

Lastly, AMAZON are really bad with date predictions and pre-orders for these kinda game titles.

There are huge diminishing returns for an RTX 3090 over a 3080 but the cost difference is massive, it's not relaly worth getting a 3090 for 4k gaming. And the cost difference of a high end gaming PC and a console is also huge. But the current gen consoles aren't too shabby. With regards to GT7, I question how much RTS a racing game needs outside of a photomode. Some on the car you are using, but is it that necessary elsewhere? Perhaps, but they'll probably utilise RTS efficiently to keep the frame rates high and consistent.

I am positive that there was word that GT7 is aiming for 120hz. It might be bs because they also entertained the idea of 240hz. I think Kaz might have his head in the clouds.

If there are two modes - performance and graphics, I know which one I will choose every time for online races.

ZEE

Wayyy faster than 60%. For instance, fast travel on the PS4 Pro took, I don't know, maybe 30 seconds to a minute. It takes less than two seconds on the PS5.

There are parts of the game where you clear an enemy warehouse and just fly out a vent and you're swinging around outside again in one short, smooth animation. The PS4 version would instead have a loading screen.

I wish I had the knowledge and imagination to speculate on how the SSD could be used by GT7 other than just faster loading times (as great as that will be).

I hope the oval layout keeps the rain for the final release, that could be fun.

Also, do you find it odd that these environment settings are in the game (with what I assume to be plain skyboxes), yet the trailer showed off dynamic volumetric clouds? Do you think these were just left over testing environments for the new tracks?

I remember hearing that too, and I hope it makes the release. As someone who plays a lot of PC sims, unlocked 120Hz feels fantastic even with just a 60hz monitor. Less input lag, and the force feedback feels less 'floaty' and less delayed. Would be a super welcomed feature for Sport mode players I'm sure. Includes a bit of screen tearing, but is 100% worth it, as it feels way better.

Looks like it was just placed into the wrong category
