Do you think there is a possibility that GT7's supposed focus on using haptic feedback in the dualsense to relay the road texture is a step in the right direction?

The consoles use AMD, who are a ways behind Nvidia re: ray tracing. Insomniac's Spider-Man Miles Morales pulled off a (dynamic res)1440p 60fps with RTX in an open world game so I'm sure Polyphony will do some good work but if we do see 120fps (I sure hope so), we can certainly say goodbye to the raytracing in that mode. Black Ops couldn't do it in their 120hz mode.
Dualsense, yes, I hope they would do such a thing. There's a high chance...perfect opportunity.

Yeah...but look at how many objects there are in those games. Besides, you're not speeding past them. They can just reduce the quality of the ray tracing on-track, and have it on full in the menus and photo mode. 1080p for performance mode (?) would help as well.

Makes sense, considering I have always read that racing games tend to not be quite as demanding. Then again, ACC couldn't do any more than 30fps on the PS4/Pro because of its physics. So I suppose it will depend on how hard PD is going in on day/night, weather, and, of course, tire physics.

Making on PS4 would just hold them down. It would save people money struggling having to get a PS5
I agree, a PS4 release would hold the game back. The shortage of PS5's is probably why we've not heard much. There's no reason Sony would want to increase demand for PS5's while they still can't meet the demand already present. They genuinely could delay the game (if they haven't already done so behind the scenes) due to the current supply shortage.

That's true,

What's the point of hyping a game up early when PS5 is barely obtainable yet.

None of us can say that for 100% certainty, unless you've got a direct line to Sony or PD. For now, it's just extremely unlikely.

official PlayStation website has GT7 as PS5 only. Miles morales is listed as PS4 and PS5 so...

Gran Turismo 7 does not even have a page on the regular Amazon US site, seems more like someone goofed on the .de site than any real news.

Yes I know but as said earlier, there is nothing stopping them adding a PS4 logo whenever they properly announce the game with a release date. They probably won't. But they could. It's not PS5 only until they flat out say it is, which I'm pretty sure they haven't yet.

They’re making it very clear in sizzle reel footage that it’s going to be a PS5 exclusive

As i heard from a user randomly on youtube livechat yesterday, he gotten a message from amazon with accordance of a ps4 release of GT7 and that they are in direct contact with Playstation.
Of course, its not a official confirmation yet, but definitily a hint, after in ps5 dualsense haptic feedback-spot only was written "GT7 - in development for Playstation" and not anymore standing for PS5 or PS5 only.
I don't get anything for this message, but in my opinion its interesting.

Seriously...?

Again, if Sony themselves have made it clear in their promotional material that the game is a PS5 exclusive and won't be coming to the PS4, we should probably be able to safely assume the game is a PS5 exclusive. I really doubt some random dude in a YouTube livechat knows what's up

I hope so, I want a full next gen GT and not an half assed one (look at halo infinite or cyberpunk that are cross gen titles how bad they are...)
Slight correction: Cyberpunk was not a cross-generation title, and was always designed as a PS4/Xbox One game. However, when it was released, it ran better on the new consoles because of very poor optimisation.

As for GT7, it is pretty pointless speculating whether it will be on PS4 or not, as there has been no official announcement on whether it will or will not be.

ZEE
Its lighting fast and imagine how that could work for Scapes, Track loads and Grid setup, and even Pit lane changes.
But in the Gran Turismo 7 Announcement Trailer there was a lot of Pop Up Errors. I don't get it, that they didn't polish even the small gameplay part.

The final development stage of a videogame is to optimize it even further.

It wont be coming to PS4. GT7 will sell 15-20 mil. copies anyway on PS5.

If PD were mercenary they would lick their lips at a potential doubling of sales due to the fact that theres 100 mil plus PS4s out there.

But they arent so they wont.

Don't thionk PD releasing on PS5 only is beucase they aren't mercenary, the primary reason Sony wil lwant GT7 to release on PS5 only is to sell more PS5 consoles. I could also mean we get a better and more polished game that a cross gen port and it'll cost PD less to develop than if they also made a cross gen port. So the finacial aspect is still very much a driving force. They aren't a charity.

Looks like that was completely wrong.

Not only that, having a larger install base isn't the fix all to everything. GT6 is evident to that.

It doesn't look like anything is categorically right or wrong at the moment, his wording is curious and we know GT7 have been advertised as Exclusive to PS5 before. So either, something has changed since the PS5 exclusive marketing, or someone was wrong. The wording here could suggest they are simply considering cases where it might make sense and not confirming these specific games will appear on PS4. It certainly throws the possibility open and more power to people who called it if it happens, but right now I'm well and truely on the fence.

How do you simply "consider" something so big for a game that is likely coming out next year? It's more likely that it was farther than something just considered. This is something you consider in pre-development. Not something to bring up so far into the games development.

This all reeks of how companies try to spin things and spill the beans on something without directly spilling the beans. I'd love to be wrong though.

How do you not consider it when you start planning a game before he next gen consoles are out but after the dev tools are in circulation? It has to be a consideration, and you can guarentee Sony will have had a meeting about it at some point and considered it.

You make it sound like considering something is something simple and menial, yet it is exactley what it sounds like. I had a member of staff who I considered giving another chance to before settleing on giving them the boot. It was big decision and ultimately the right decision but another chance was considered. You can consider minor matters and you can consider major ones too and all matters in between.

You might be right about the last part, but I'm sitting on that fence until further developments come about.
