I am pretty new to these forums, and for the most part everyone seems pretty layed back which is a refreashing change.

I have seen a few that still bag one or the other but heck we have our own opinions, likes and dislikes.

My question though is for both.

Those that like to bag Japanese cars: Have you ever been for a ride or driven on of the true Japanese super cars such as the NSX, Supra 2JZ, Skyline GTR, Subaru WRX STi, Mistz EVO ?

To those that bag Amercian cars: Same have you been in or driven a Vette, Viper, Camaro, Trans Am, etc?

I have been lucky enough to own quite a number of highly modified cars of both, or have been a passenger or driven.

Honestly both sides can make good arguements but at the end of the day everyone shares one thing in common. Performance cars.

Cars owned:
72 Vette Stingray @ 475 hp
78 Camaro Z28 650cid 1,087 hp at the crank
86 Iroc Z
Nissan Skyline GTS-t 375hp
Nissan skyline GTR 360hp

Out of all the cars I have owned the Vette and the GTR are my fav's, though the GTR is still fairly standard at this time.
I am not looking to start a flame thread. Like all car and performance enthusiasts I welcome opinions and beliefs from all views.

Peace and happiness

The block and heads were Airis (spelling)

the heads were ported and polished with new custom valve seats.
Valves were were custom made not sure on the grind however.
tripple valve springs with all studs screw in type.
steel forged crank
Titainum con rods custom made
Not sure where the engine builder sourced the bearings from.
Cams were custom made with 1.055 lift intake .980 exhaust (from what I can remember)
duration, cant remember accurately
Custom High rise intake with oval shaped runners
fuel system consisted of 4 high volume 120 psi pumps fed via a fuel cell. Pressure contorl was fed with twin raising rate regulators set at 55psi
twin Holley 1150 cfm dominators with custom jetting and lapped bores.
Compression ratio was 11.7 - 1 according to the little gauge.
Domed forged pistons with valve reliefs, chrome rings

Because the block was alloy all threaded holes that had to maintain a high pressure area such as the deck and bottom end were heli-coiled, and also in the head itself.

These are things the engine builder informed me of. Please note I am not a mechanic and only do minor mechanical work. I merely break things most of the time, though as a tool maker I do enjoy making the odd bits and pieces.
I had the car for three years and it was built for drag racing. My best time at Union Grove WI, was a 7.88 @ 174mph. That was in 1989 on a testing day. The car was sold when to buy my house.
