I don't give a damn whether the bloke in charge is an elephant or a donkey, if he's a moron unsuitable for the job then he is a moron unsuitable for the job.
You should be so lucky. All of our politicians are morons unsuitable for the job. I'll see your "Republican who denies science given a senior science oversight position" and raise you a "Prime Minister who accuses the head of state of a nuclear-armed sovereign nation of participating in an act of terrorism, then threatens him over it" (and he's a notorious climate change sceptic to boot).

Hey, Britain isn't rich on great frontline politicians these days either.

Our two main party leaders do look somewhat similar to coincide with their parties' similarities.

As is often said, the sort of person who wants to be a politician is exactly the sort of people we have right now. Too few 'genuine' candidates are backed or supported.

Australia's political system is completely ruined, australian's as a whole are completely lazy politically and it shows in our choices for government.

Words are all people listen to in this country actions mean nothing.

The Nanny state is strong in this one.

I wouldn't say that we're politically lazy - rather, we just had two poor choices at the last election. We chose the current government over the previous one, though had we known then what we do now, I strongly suspect we would have kept Labor in power. Yes, they were incompetent, but at least they were fairly benign. The current government has pretty much declared war on the poor to support the wealthy (how else do you explain cuts to unemployment benefits and Medicare, but a refusal to chase corporate tax avoiders?) and has done incredible damage to our international reputation in their handling of immigration, climate change and MH17.

That's a big simplistic though, the cuts where more baby bonus related and forcing people who can work to work, and Medicare isn't sustainable.

Our international reputation with our socially retarded leader has clearly taken a dive though.

Regardless, labour and liberal barely represent the people voting, The lack of sizeable protests on really anything show that the people voting are not that interested.

The forced voting law should be abolished for a start, then the people that actually vote on choice with some sort of reason will present more percentage, then we may see some more 3rd parties joining the mix.

All we have now is class warfare nonsense with a bunch of inner city greens tagging along.

How to have tons of fun watching the State Of The Union:

Every time Obama says something communist, or sounds like lefty propaganda, hit play on the national anthem of the USSR.

Watch it on youtube and press 0 each time he says something new.

Or drink every time Obama gets a standing ovation from at least half the audience, but Bohmer doesn't join in.

Drink twice every time he does join in, but his expression says "I'm only doing this because I have to". You'll know when he's doing this because he looks like he's trying to pass a kidney stone the size of a bowling ball.

Yeah but that's always how it is. This is funny because his speeches are getting more and more commie each time.

And I will not do violence to my liver over a bunch of rat bastard politicians.

Bohner's got the worst poker face I've ever seen.

And I will not do violence to my liver over a bunch of rat bastard politicians.
Just watching them does violence to my brain cells, so I'll happily damage my liver as an alternative.

EDIT: Just saw the Republican reply. It was absolutely hilarious, though no doubt unintentionally so. It accused the government of failing the people, and while it was clearly aimed at Obama, delivering it at a time when they hold the majority share of power is akin to shooting themselves in the foot.

Various news agencies are reporting that there won't be a federal civil rights case brought against officer Darren Wilson for shooting unarmed teenager the teenager who tried to take his gun, Michael Brown. This is not an official DOJ announcement, it's based on leaks from internal sources.

http://video.foxnews.com/v/40047199...s-were-violated-in-brown-case/?#sp=show-clips

Let's hope when the final decision does come down, they don't loot, pillage and burn what is left of Ferguson Missouri businesses.

On Obama, I found this pretty funny though.

Whether speech written or not, he does seem like an entertaining speaker from videos I've seen of him.

Obama has a great personality and is probably a cool dude to hang out with. Smart, funny, respectful, interesting.

But I don't agree with his politics. He's got a very important job to do which affects the entire country. He's just not the right man for the job, I'm afraid.

Of course he's not the right man for the job...he's the left man for the job.

There is no right man for the job when you have a one party system.

The only thing what Obama has as a plus (so it seems) is that the rest of the world seems to like him. Apart from those who get bombarded every now and then.

I don't get the impression he's well liked at all. I don't see Obama being seen as a big player on the world stage at all. I think he gets deference due to his title, but I don't see him held in high personal regard by many of the world's leaders. Just my opinion of course.

EDIT: Must make Americans proud that their president puts politics ahead of meeting the Israeli PM coming to his own country and visiting just down the street from his house, but can fly to Saudi Arabia to meet a repressive dictator and cut short a visit to the largest democracy in the world to do so. Of course that's because he's so busy, he doesn't have time for vacations and luxuries like golf...oh wait....

I'm in the US for the week and I'm watching the Weather Channel's outlook to the upcoming blizzard in the NE. Looks pretty nasty...

I did have chuckle when they started talking about precautions people should take:
- Gas up your cars ahead of the storm
- Limit all travel, stay at home.

The combination of those two doesn't really make sense to me... Why fueling up if you're clearly not going anywhere?

In any case, stay safe everyone on the NE coast! :)

The combination of the two is to encourage people to stay indoors, but if they do need to travel and get stuck while doing so, then at least do it with a full tank of gas in case one becomes stranded in the car. With a full tank of gas, the car's heater can be run longer than on a partial tank.

^Makes more sense now, thanks :) . As a Belgian, I'm pretty unfamiliar with blizzards.
I don't know if it's a uniquely North American phenomenon but weather is a huge thing newswise here and the way they talk about any kind of weather other than sunny and comfortable, makes it sound like it's something new and different and usually dangerous and exciting. If one didn't know any better and you flipped on the Weather Channel or a news broadcast, you'd think we've never seen a blizzard before, or huge rainfall, or wind, or heat, or cold or any kind of extreme weather at all. The only time I look at the weather is if I'm planning something outdoors like fishing, golf etc.

Yeah, we for example don't have a 24/7 channel focused on weather. A 5 minute weather forecast after the news, that's about it, storm or not :)
I like watching the Weather Channel whenever I'm staying on the west side of the ocean as it's quite educating I think. They usually explain really well how certain weather patterns evolve, what I find pretty interesting.
But having a weather reporter in almost every city, saying "It's cold over here" is a bit too much imho ;)

May I introduce to you Rebekah Erler...

DemOpSTOU.png

In case anyone got lost, she is highlighted in a yellow box.

Obama and the Mainstream Media made a delight out of showing her off next to Michelle Obama during the State of the Union address that took place last Tuesday. Despite the myriad of lies that Obama said during the speech, he keeps referring to this young lady, from Minnesota as the supposed face of his economic policies...

...Except, she isn't who you think she is.

Meet the REAL Rebekah Erler, a Democratic Op that worked in the campaign of Senator Patty Murray (D) of Washington.

Here is the President and Erler having a few drinks at a restaurant.

This is not a joke. The President used her as a prop to escalate his economic policies because he knew that blaming Bush for the sixth year in a row won't cut it.

The "libertarian" section on Reddit is full of weird people who I don't think are real libertarians. I've got my philosophy ironed out pretty well and its a hard position to argue with. Those people are spouting nonsense left and and right. A leftist libertarian? What the hell is that? Can that exist? That doesn't make sense to me. Logic and reason aren't something you can pick and choose.

It seems to me that you sometimes forget that you're on the Internet.
