Oh dear. Say it isn't so.

Surely Sunday morning's okay... even if it looks like the world's worst ventriloquist act? :D

It's kinda fun having the Freedom Caucus going off the Republican reservation. The Don is obviously trying to flip Rand to his cause. But yeah, I hope it's not gonna be quite that easy.

I for one am glad to see this. Dr. Rand Paul has some of the best ideas for healthcare reform I have heard.

So Susan Rice is the 'alleged unmasker'. After her role in the debacle in Benghazi in which she peddled lies about the now debunked story of an organic "protest" (that lead to the sacking of the US Embassy), should I really be surprised? Probably not, but somehow, I still am. I am no longer buying that this surveillance was "incidental". This needs to be completely investigated and if laws were broken, people need to go to jail.

There are two angles to that: if Rice is the Unmasker-General then has she broken the law against the public interest and, secondly, is the released information pertinent to pursuing investigation of further criminal matters in the part of the people the Unmasker has named?

Shenanigans in the release of accurate information doesn't make that information less valid.

Interesting, I'm not sure what his end game is here.

What I do know is that Erik Prince deserves to be in prison. He was under investigation in 2016 for money laundering and ties to Chinese intelligence. Considering his sins during the Irag war, he must have enough dirt on people to keep his name clean. So far he has been able to avoid criminal charges against him personally even though his Company, Blackwater engaged in and was charged with the deaths of innocent Iraqi Civilians (see Nisour Square Massacre- 2007). He is a mercenary first, no ethics, no values and will sell to the highest bidder. Now he wants to set up forward operating bases for the Chinese Government, basically a Chinese version of Blackwater, this man has no loyalty to anyone or anything except to himself.

PS, I had no idea Betsy DeVos is his sister, talk about a strange connection

Fair and balanced Fox Business breaks the news,

This is getting dangerously close to the political party in power spying upon the opposition party and then getting caught; Watergate revisited.

Motive doesn't excuse the fact that she leaked information, some of it possibly classified, to the press. Need I remind you that Edward Snowden is still wanted for the US for possible treason charges for leaking PRISM information to the public? The Snowden leaks were in the public interest, so why does Ms. Rice get a pass and Snowden gets the firing squad? Is it because that Ms. Rice is actually helping out her progressive friends in the Democrat party and in the media by getting this information out there? You need to remember that Ms. Rice is no longer the ambassador to the UN, so she shouldn't even be able to sit in on those meetings in the first place.

Until January 20th, 2017, Ms Rice was,

The Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs (APNSA), commonly referred to as the National Security Advisor or at times informally termed the NSC advisor,[1][2] is a senior aide in the Executive Office of the President, based at the West Wing of the White House, who serves as the chief in-house advisor to the President of the United States on national security issues.

In other words she bugged the Trump team for Obama. It's dangerously close to Watergate, people.

White House lawyers last month learned that the former national security adviser Susan Rice requested the identities of U.S. persons in raw intelligence reports on dozens of occasions that connect to the Donald Trump transition and campaign, according to U.S. officials familiar with the matter.

The pattern of Rice's requests was discovered in a National Security Council review of the government's policy on "unmasking" the identities of individuals in the U.S. who are not targets of electronic eavesdropping, but whose communications are collected incidentally. Normally those names are redacted from summaries of monitored conversations and appear in reports as something like "U.S. Person One."

The National Security Council's senior director for intelligence, Ezra Cohen-Watnick, was conducting the review, according to two U.S. officials who spoke with Bloomberg View on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss it publicly. In February Cohen-Watnick discovered Rice's multiple requests to unmask U.S. persons in intelligence reports that related to Trump transition activities. He brought this to the attention of the White House General Counsel's office, who reviewed more of Rice's requests and instructed him to end his own research into the unmasking policy.

The intelligence reports were summaries of monitored conversations -- primarily between foreign officials discussing the Trump transition, but also in some cases direct contact between members of the Trump team and monitored foreign officials. One U.S. official familiar with the reports said they contained valuable political information on the Trump transition such as whom the Trump team was meeting, the views of Trump associates on foreign policy matters and plans for the incoming administration.

Not only did she bug the Trump Team for Obama, but she lied about it, twice. Incriminating public audio recording at 1:07 on the video.

Edit:
Her spying operation was in operation by July of last year, according to FBN broadcast in progress.

Those aren't just "other" words, they're completely removed words, surely?

He doesn't, he gets possible treason charges, as you said. Possible.

Do you have a link to the evidence that suggest that her motivations were entirely in the defense of American against it's enemies?
Nope, I'm not a mind reader. I'll just assume she wasnt a paid foreign agent like her Trump admin. replacement was.

Are you referring to Senate bill 222? Which parts of it in particular are the "best ideas?"
I'm not familiar with the bill but I have seen him interviewed several times. I like what he has to say about associative healthcare group insurance. Imagine, if say, the NRA were allowed to sell it's members group insurance, they could offer no copays for accidental gunshot wounds.

Associative groups would keep prices low and solve the problem of pre existing conditions.

I'm looking forward to seeing El Presidente doing a 180 when he meets the Chinese premier later this week.

I wonder how embarrassed China's Iron Leader will be when meeting him. Abe, May and Merkel have set the standards so far.

Former US Attorney: Susan Rice Ordered Spy Agencies To Produce ‘Detailed Spreadsheets’ Involving Trump

Former President Barack Obama’s national security adviser Susan Rice ordered U.S. spy agencies to produce “detailed spreadsheets” of legal phone calls involving Donald Trump and his aides when he was running for president, according to former U.S. Attorney Joseph diGenova.

“What was produced by the intelligence community at the request of Ms. Rice were detailed spreadsheets of intercepted phone calls with unmasked Trump associates in perfectly legal conversations with individuals,” diGenova told The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group Monday.

“The overheard conversations involved no illegal activity by anybody of the Trump associates, or anyone they were speaking with,” diGenova said. “In short, the only apparent illegal activity was the unmasking of the people in the calls.”

Other official sources with direct knowledge and who requested anonymity confirmed to TheDCNF diGenova’s description of surveillance reports Rice ordered one year before the 2016 presidential election.

“We’re looking at a potential constitutional crisis from the standpoint that we used an extremely strong capability that’s supposed to be used to safeguard and protect the country,” he said. “And we used it for political purposes by a sitting president. That takes on a new precedent.”

Other (slightly less partisan) sources point out that this is so far allegations and little of it is based on evidence the public has seen (...Other official sources with direct knowledge and who requested anonymity... - didn't the Don say we shouldn't trust this).

Even the Bloomburg piece (which is cited as a source by DC) is actually an opinion piece by a contributor who is not employed by Bloomberg (a point not mentioned by DC).

Now its certainly not good for the last administration, but its also not the smoking gun that it has been claimed, nor does it absolve the current administration in terms of the ongoing investigations.

What we may end up with is the rather appalling situation in which members of both the last and current administrations end up facing criminal charges.

Edited to add, a more balanced piece from Vox on this, including the opinions of a number of former intelligence staff from both sides of the political divide.

Anarchists, Greens, Bernie-ites and possibly liberty minded patriots will delight at the simultaneous demise of both corrupt party establishments and the intelligence communities. Drain the swamp and do-over time!? What's not to like?

Indeed, it's funny how those things work
Crunch: get with the program. We've left Grey's Anatomy behind & moved on to Homeland. I'm thinking they are going to quietly cancel the next season of House of Cards - how can it possibly compete with this?

I haven't seen the show, but a lot of people I know like it and it won awards. What I do know is that I would rather be entertained by Kevin Spacey than Trump, here's hope they don't cancel it.

This is why the tit-for-tat game needs to end and they all need to move on to doing more constructive things.

I'm not a Reagan fan, mainly due to his economic polices, but I yearn for the days of bipartisanship between the Democrats and Republicans that transcended beyond party lines during his administration. Reagan, much like Trump was crucified by the liberal left his first 100 days in office but he was able to overcome that and negoatiate a lot of deals with Democrats. I think Trump, Mr Let's-make-A-Deal, can do the same, but he needs to come more to the middle. Trump has done nothing to woo Democrats yet, and so far this has been very disappointing.

I would love to see Trump work with Democrats on an infrastructure bill, this is a good place to start the bipartisanship dealings. Trump said, "Education is the Civil Rights issue of our time", I would love to see him work directly with Bernie Sanders on an education bill. These are good places to start. I expect our Representatives and Senators to DO THEIR JOB, part of that job is crossing the aisle and compromising to cut bipartisan deals that benefit Americans. And if they don't, I say the people should FIRE THEM ALL. I'm so tired of this political Civil War.

I'm semi-ok with it. The in-fighting means they spend less time passing the legislation you're advocating that they pass - legislation that does more harm than good. If our government gets nothing done, that's usually the best possible outcome.

Well, crumbling infrastructure has to be replaced eventually you can't just 'do nothing' and hope the problem goes away. As for education, apparently Trump disagrees with you. If he is being serious about Education being a fundamental right all kids should have access to, then I'm going to take him at his word and hope some good comes from it.

As it turns out, infrastructure exists in various states, which can each fund repairs. Not that federal funds need to be continually authorized over and over, if the program is put in place properly to begin with it includes maintenance. But congress needs to justify its existence and keep people paying attention to their silly team red/team blue arguments, so they make sure that things you want - like federal money being dumped on your state's infrastructure - hang in the balance.

As for education, apparently Trump disagrees with you.

Oh no!

If he is being serious about Education being a fundamental right all kids should have access to, then I'm going to take him at his word and hope some good comes from it.

It is a fundamental right that all children should have... just like food, clothing, basic medical care, shelter, and even attention. I don't want the federal government providing any of that.
