When the supersonic bomber burns cleaner at low altitude than the one designed for lower speeds and lower altitudes you know somebody needs to be re-engined badly.Britain sent a contingent of its occupier's bombers all the way from snowy Gloucestershire* to the egg thing.

Well in this case the B-1 is the low altitude bomber. The B-1A would have been the high fast bomber, but it was cancelled. Doesn't change the fact that the B-52 might as well burn coal though. When the supersonic bomber burns cleaner at low altitude than the one designed for lower speeds and lower altitudes you know somebody needs to be re-engined badly.
Yeah that's a pretty wild role reversal. But I suppose it maximizes the chock value of these planes. You can't even hear the B-1 coming until it blasts overhead at 600 knots and blows your doors off, but you can hear and see the B-52 coming from 50 miles away so you'd better start writing that will. And of course the night before the B-2 took out all the anti-air defenses before anybody knew what was going on.Well in this case the B-1 is the low altitude bomber. I enjoy The B-52's.
They have both displayed surprising longevity.I enjoy The B-52's.
Hot poo or cold poo, take your pick, it's a free market! This one is quite sinister. I remember reading about a city in (I think) Canada where a shorted out resistor led to raw sewage coming out of shower heads and sink faucets. Yuck, they weren't even able to wash it off. Maybe that mixer tap thing was a bad idea after all.
I imagine some parks are subject to open container laws. It's permissible on campgrounds I've visited but I've seen signs prohibiting consumption outside those designated areas.drinking in a National Park (?)
Beerin' In The USA? (No.)Bruce Springsteen charged with drink driving and drinking in a National Park (?), jokes are available from Better Days, Sherry Darling, or I'm Going Down.
That's what he had to do to convince himself to be in a Jeep commercial.

The only thing I know about this incident is that it involves Bruce Springsteen. Literally. I didn't even click the link, either to be directed to the article or to copy the address and use it as a search query.I have spent a lot of time at Sandy Hook, the park where Springsteen was charged. It is a spit of land (sand) reaching out from the extreme north end of the Jersey Shore with a long road leading to the end of the spit with an old naval base at the end. There could be a lot more (or less) to this story. It sounds as though the park was closed due to Covid (which doesn't really make much sense, but whatever). He may have attracted attention just by by being there "illegally". Reportedly, he blew a 0.02 on the breathalyzer, which is one quarter of the allowable NJ limit. The details are still uncertain, but it's possible it's an overzealous park ranger making a big deal out of a minor infraction.

I was remarking on what appeared to be a quandry regarding the charge of drinking in a national park.
I haven't made any judgements in this matter and I don't intend to without a great deal more information that I don't find myself aching to receive. I will say that it's kind of amazing that I haven't made any judgements, though, because while I am a big fan of Bruce's catalog of work, I reserve a great deal of contempt for those who drive intoxicated...in no small part because my parents were killed by a drunk driver when I was a teenager.
I don't know if this question's on-topic... I saw one of these 'stolen valor' videos earlier. I get the idea of stolen valour, the outrage at people pretending to have the right to medals or parade uniforms comes round every year on Remembrance Day.
However, some of the people in the video looked like they were just wearing a camo uniform for the sake of it rather than to imply any service. Is there a market in the US for military surplus uniforms like there is in Europe? Is it taboo to wear any part of a service uniform as civilian clothing?
This gave me a chuckle, which is an extra something given the way I've been feeling the last ~24 hours. I'm sure it wasn't intentional but thank you just the same.googles

It's super easy to get military surplus. When I was younger and played a ton of paintball and airsoft, I had a full MARPAT ACU camo get up that was surplus. I didn't wear it around town because, well that's just silly, but I would wear it whenever I played in a woodland setting. I also had surplus googles too for when I played airsoft since they were far more ballistic resistant than whatever cheap safety glasses other people wore.
I still have a handful of surplus winter clothing too, my favorite is the wool sweater I have that's Swiss military surplus, it's one of the warmest things I probably own.

And y'all have faith in our government and military...
He doesn't know who he's talking to.Oh I lost faith in both a long time ago.

Edit: Coulda sworn we had a gun thread, anywho.
