We've just witnessed the end of Globalism and 80 years of (relative) peace and prosperity. Back to the good old days of toxic Nationalism - it worked out so well in the past.

Now every country is going to have to start spending a much larger chunk of their resources arming up to protect themselves against their neighbours.

The USA has pretty much always been hyper-nationalist, with a healthy dose of American exceptionalism thrown in, it's just that in the past it's done some good stuff to offset the awful stuff.

Now every country is going to have to start spending a much larger chunk of their resources arming up to protect themselves against their neighbours.
Thing is, the USA spends 700-800 BILLION dollars a year on "defence", that's about $3000 per person per year... if they're not voluntarily acting as the world police, and other nations pick up their spending, why the hell would American people be okay with $3000 of THEIR money being taken to fund the military? If Trump's going to use the US military as part of a protection racket, he's going to need a lot of conflict through which to leverage it.

$3000 buys what... 3, maybe 4 eggs in the USA?

The defenders of the administration have been conspicuously quiet since the bad Ukraine takes started flooding the news.

Maybe they just choked on an overpriced egg though.
Pouring one out for the worthless Trumpers (but I repeat myself) what were once so prevalent in this subforum, dutifully squawking "TDS" and "orange man bad" at criticisms of their Fake Bake god-king and likening the bitch to Jeebus.
