When The Donald came out of left field with all this anti-Ukraine stuff... as it all began I thought it was Trump being outrageously Art Of The Deal-y to try to strip mine the snot out of Ukraine's resources and use any opportunity possible to enrich 'Murrica and FTW himself into the history books. But the more he says, the more I can't find his edge. Like is this guy really kissing Putin's ass full-tongue right now? Totally shocking and makes me wonder if someone around him is compromised. Like is Melania KGB or something? Wild. Diplomats' heads are exploding today.

Which constitutional rules is there that he is not following?
Let's talk about all the rules of life that Trump isn't following and the rules of human decency trump and his horde of savages forgot to check out at the door of this now orange circus instead of the traditional white house...

If you can't understand that his country is currently under attack and at war, then I will tell you Zelesnkyy is very much appropriately dressed for the occasion. It is a constant reminder of his state of mind and what he is truly defending for his country : their freedom and sovereignty after they have given up on the atomic bomb, so to allow and accept the protection from NATO and the US , but clearly Trump has a twisted 🥨 mind and forget his own responsibility as a leader of the allegedly free USA.

There is a French expression that says: l'habille ne fait pas Le moine...

Which means your appearance may not necessarily says who you truly are.

Of course you could say the same for anyone...

But clearly between Dumpty trump and Zelesnkyy:
1) trump may be all dressed up, but deep down he is just a 5 year old hypocrite bully orange clown
2) Zelesnkyy isn't wearing a suit, but he will forever be remembered in the world's history books and iPads as a legitimate leader and real freedom fighter...

Oof, I guess nobody saw my post in the other thread. To be clear: this is totally embarrassing and the Trump and Vance, Plus Goons show was buffoonery of the highest order. Bigmouth slimy prick Vance is responsible for burning down the entire meeting and ****ing up relations that hundreds of diplomats have worked so hard to maintain. He's a vice-president admonishing a head of state-- he needs to get over himself, sit there, and STFU. None of this would have blown up and we would have a minerals deal if Vance didn't lead Zelenskyy into saying something that Trump didn't want to hear.

Zelenskyy or his handlers should have known that he was walking into a snakepit by the way he was greeted by Trump. They completely failed the assignment with respect to keeping Zelenskyy clean and looking as good as possible through the encounter. I don't think his English is good enough to be as sharp as you need to be against a blowhard personality like Trump. You have to be really, really on your toes. His yes/no answers lead the bullies in the room to pile up on him, and answering Trump with negation only fires him up and makes him shut down the conversation. As the kids say, he got his ass cooked bruh.

Regarding the suit question, he could have easily had a response ready that was like, "Mr. Putin's army has already killed countless Ukranian civilians, so I suppose they think men in suits are easy targets," or, "I gave away my suits to Ukrainian families so that they could bury their loved ones," etc etc. Even, "Of course I own suits but I wear this to show solidarity with our military." Anything like that would have been better than, "Maybe I have a better one than you one day. A cheaper one." They could have avoided that blow entirely but just coming to visit in a suit. If they weren't going to do that, why even address that total goon, whose only credentials seem to be that he's some conspiratoid bimbo's boyfriend? Side note: Marjorie Taylor Greene is a Georgia slug whose MAGA family values bullsquat doesn't even pass muster to her real life decisions to dump her husband and father of 3 kids for some radio show host with no eyeballs.

Also, Elon showing up to the Oval Office in a dumb trucker hat and tech support T-shirt was ridiculous. Way worse than Generalissimo Volodymyr. Bringing his son who's not old enough to stay still was also highly inappropriate. For someone who ought to be doing his best protect his company and to not look like a fascist, the whole black hat gimmick is a really bad look.

There are so many things to say about the encounter but I think they would be more appropriate in the America thread, as this was a ******** in the Oval Office on American soil, not really a direct development in Ukraine.

He was gonna shut the conversation down no matter what. The whole thing was a "Kiss the Ring" moment, but Zelenskyy is still trying his best to show some neutrality. He didn't get "cooked", he ended up showing the rest of the world why the US is speed running itself into a pariah state.

Every part of that is a sartorial nightmare (I'm no Savile Row product myself, but neither do I pretend to be). The eyes are drawn to the virtually plus-fours of course, but the tie (length and knot), the colour offset of the socks/suit/shoes, the shirt which doesn't fit, and the jacket shoulders are all a catastrophe.

It's like he's had the same suit since he was 14, except someone thought he'd grow into the jacket - or he had to borrow one from Baron.
