And we're back! And better than ever!
Season 3 of the American Le Mans Series looks as if it's going to be the most competitive yet!

Post 1: Introduction/Basic Rules
Post 2: Roster/Car Lists
Post 3: Schedule/Standings

We do our best to replicate the real American Le Mans series. Which is why we have not one, or two, but three classes racing at the same time!

LMP1, the fastest and most elite of the three classes is home to some of the finest machines on the planet. Cars like the diesel Peugeot 908 and Audi R10 battle it out with the petrol BMW V12 LMR and Bentley Speed 8 along with a vast array of other cars. For this season, all Group C cars have been banned to narrow down the field and promote "teaming up" with other drivers.

LMP2, this class is for those that enjoy driving full-fledged race cars, but can't afford the high-running costs of LMP1. Open to any Pescarolo, this class has been proven through testing to be dead even, with cars that are easier to drive than the GTs.

GT, we are proud to announce that GT will be nearly identical to the GT class in real life. ALL cars competing this season in real life are represented in our recreation of the series. Luxury cars like the Jaguar XKR to full-fledged super cars like the Ferrari 458 Italia battle it out in one of, if not the, most competitive classes in the series.

1020kg for all prototypes? why not 930kg?

You just made me realize that I was looking at the weight regulation for another group of cars for the past six weeks.

Gimme a sec, I'll fix that.

EDIT: Fixed, was supposed to be 950 KG.

Car: RUF RGT

I thought there wasn't going to be GTC! I'm down for it if it stays alive and we get enough drivers. Otherwise I'll up the HP and go to GT-E.

So excited!

Ill be LMP for now unless any of the other classes are short, in which ill do them.

gatrs if we don't get enough people who want to do GTC with me I'd be okay with scrapping it and moving up a class, but that's up to you. It seems a little premature to scrap it yet but if we don't get 3 or 4 drivers to do it it might be kind of silly.

lol gtamann.

I would have loved to drive the Jag in the GT class, but a 1am start time is a bit late for me in the UK. Have a good series anyway :)

This looks nice. Count me in!

What year did that paintjob run in Le Mans? I know it wasn't the factory team but I don't remember seeing it recently at least.

Never mind I guess it was ORECA Matmut in the 2010 season.

I thought Audi R8 LMPs were too overpowered for the LMP competition.

Yes but apparently they've been homologated? Maybe they need less power.

Also, our first pre-season race is this Friday, yes? Anyone want to possibly practice later? I may have to work but if not I'll be on at some point.

The R8 will dominate. The BMW V12 LMR is allowed but its the same class as the Toyota? lol

Mitch doesn't need to be here, this information is available on the web. LMGTP is the class both the Toyota and BMW LMR are in officially for the 1999 LeMans race. The Toyota was 'GT1' for 98. This was because they made a road car version.
