Hello racers,

Here's a video of my AMG Intermediate challenge Gold lap around the Nordschleife. Thought I cracked the sub 7min, but was not to be.

anytime youre at 7 minutes even youre going pretty darn quick. Try her in the arcade section in time trial to get your record booked legitimately. I cant even run a clean lap with a nascar with most aids on low or off (thats my goal). ;-)

Hi mate,

Thanks, will give arcade time trial a crack...always so satisfying getting it right & clean at Nuburgring. Took me many many laps to get into "no thinking" mode & just drive the Green Hell for the next corner.

Found it best to have traction control & other aids off, and not have them mess with rhythm & driving out of corners quickly. Think I had ABS set on 1 though.

Enjoy chasing that clean lap at Green Hell....self torturing but so so satisfying to get right.

Congrats on the time! I must say though this is one of the things that is a little annoying to me. A professional race driver who knows that track like the back of his/her hand, achieved a time of 6:47 in a Zonda R (in real life) and you almost did the same thing in a "road car". I put road car in quotes because the Zonda R is a road car too but lets get real. Its a race car with a license plate.

Hi there, I use G25 wheel. Respect for attempting AMG Challenge with DS3. It is possible with DS3, have to be super precise & quick with the fingers though. Try with ABS=1 & all other assists off, so TCS or ASM is not limiting & interferring with car's power when you need it.

did my gold run with the dual shock and all aids turned off except abs set to 1%.
time: 7:01:xx

but 6:52 is damn fast....i will check if i can beat that time with my wheel 👍

I found this to be the most easy special event and hit gold on almost all of them in the first go

Probably because I've done a 1000 laps on the ring already

I hit 7:00.xxx as well. Something slowed me at the last minute though, can't remember what. I was definitely on a 6:58.xxx lap though.

I did run a 6:55.2xx in my Time Attack GT-R last night though. 👍

Yeah same, have lapped Nordschleife so many times in GT4 & GTPSP, that it was easy in GT5....but I still find ways to make errors & get humbled whenever I start thinking I know the Nordschleife inside out & that it is easy.

I did run a 6:55.2xx in my Time Attack GT-R last night though. 👍

Is that the run to beat 7:29 for throphy with stock GT-R, sports hard tyres, no assists? If it is, 6:55.2xx is fast, not sure what the best time that has been done, but pretty sure 6:55 is up there with the fastest.

No, that's my regular GT-R. I did the stock challenge in arcade mode, almost crashed the car, messed up a couple time and still ran a 7:26.

I used DS3 controller to gold this event. Of course it took me more than a couple of tries but, if I'm not mistaken, I got a 7:03.xxx.

No corner cutting required.

Please be more considerate, this is not the type of driving we would like to see encouraged at GTPlanet.

Yeah, I totally agree that the proper racing line should be respected, as shown in my lap (and other videos of my laps posted in this Forum), and especially on sacred track of Nurburgring Nordschleife.

The video lap with DS3 was posted to my YouTube account by another user as a response to my lap. I put it up here to show digitalic that it is possible with DS3, but noting that corners were cut in following video. Did not mean to "advise" him to short cut for Gold. Sorry if my post was misunderstood & offended. Happy to remove DS3 video & edit post. Please let me know.

I just managed to do it in 7:32 with a DS3, the 3 last corners I had to stand up 'cause of the excitement, had get the silver But a great video, now I can compare with my own replay to see where I'm losing speed. I'm driving cockpit view only (would be nice to see your replay from that view) But I think I'm going to nail it (Legit), now that I can see how to do it!

Hey there, thanks, glad you found the video helpful going for Gold. Cross finish line first before getting too excited though...I've crashed so many times at second last corner being excited thinking I've got the lap done. Gold is not too far away once you know how to do a Silver lap. Good luck mate, and Respect for attempting to master the challenge with DS3. PM me for replay file if you really need cockpit view to chase Gold.
