An Idea To Equalize Cars Somewhat

STEP 1: You chose your region.

A note on the regions: the companies would be listed in the region they were founded in. DeLorean would be listed under the United States, despite having their cars built in Ireland. Datsun would be listed under Japan, despite being the American Nissan for years.

STEP 2: You chose your brand
STEP 3: You chose your model

STEP 4: You chose your era. Each era is a time period based on significant design changes. Example below.

CORVETTE

ERA 1: 1953-55 (original design)
ERA 2: 1956-62 (larger front, four headlights, etc)
ERA 3: 1963-66 (Stingray 1)
ERA 4: 1967-82 (Stingray 2)
ERA 5: 1984-96 (ZR-1 generation)
ERA 6: 1997-04 (return of Z06)
ERA 7: 2005-present

STEP 5: You chose your trim. The trims will be: base model, performance model, tuner model, racing model. There will be a limit of one of each category per era. This is done to limit the number of Japanese tuner cars in the game, and also to guarantee to have the base models for every car put in the game. An example is below. If one of the categories is unavailable, then another category can substitute for it. Say there is no racing edition, then another tuner edition can sub for that. There can be no more than three of any category, and in order to get three, the other two categories must be absent. The base model must always be present.

MUSTANG (2005-present)

BASE: Mustang
PERFORMANCE: Mustang GT
TUNER: Roush Mustang
RACING: Grand Am Mustang

The Shelby Mustang wasn't listed because it has a different name: GT350/GT500. They would be listed under Shelby instead of Ford.

Err... as many cars as possible, regardless of category. That's my desire. And if that means 30 Skylines and Mustangs, then, oh well, 30 of each works for me. ;)

Base....Performance...Tuner....Racing...hmmm....*cough*BURNOUT'S SYSTEM*cough* Nice idea but thought I should bring that up...

I think you should have more than one "tuner" model of each car. With your mustang example, I would take a Saleen Mustang before I took a Roush. Or would you classify Sallen as a seperate company since they make the S7? What about factory tuning companies (SVT, for example).
When you say GT300/GT500 do you mean the classic ones or the new Shelby GT500? The new GT500 is labelled a Shelby, but in fact was designed and is built by the SVT boys. There is minimal SVT badging, though, as the want the Shelby name to stand out. Just a few questions to make your system more thorough. I like the idea.
In fact, I thought it would be neat and save space if they only fully designed the base model. Using the 'Stang as an example: On;ty fully render the base Mustang (with the V6). In order to come up with the GT, they would only design the new front bumper/grille, rear bumper, side skirt, spoiler, and rims/tires, and add the power and specs in. They wouldn't have to touch the doors, roof, hood, trunk, interior, glass, overall dimensions, etc., as they are the same betwee the two models. How does that sound? I think it would make the buying process more simplified by not having to press triangle, go back, click x, wait for the GT screen to load, all that crap. You would only need one menu and a little thinking time. What do you think?

Classic, you sem to have ALOT of ides, try to put it into ONE thread and not 15, when your doing this your ruining the experience of GTP by cluttereing it, it's like litering earth but in a little bit different way.

Only the most prestigious tuners will be used. I used Roush because it was the only thing I could think of at the time. As for Shelby, I meant the new ones. They would be put under Shelby since GT500 is a Shelby name.

As for the trim menus, it's a scroll menu, just like the past GTs. It just happens to be different levels of performance.
