Ok after losing this race on the last lap last corner (BMW GTR Race car, added weight and low downforce for max A-Spec points) I chose a new weapon: Honda S2000 Race car.
With upgraded NA Stage 3 engine it comes up with 400hp which should be good match to 500hp JGTC monsters.

The competition was:
RX8 Race car
RX7 Race car
Opel Calibra (the weakest link :-)
and two NSXs

From previous attempts I knew that the race will be between me and the two Mazdas.

Laps 1-24
I jump ahead on cold tires and start building up lead on cold tires. It takes few laps before the Mazdas sort out the slow guys and I pit on lap 12 together with RX which was 6 seconds behind. This gave lead to the RX7 who is on 3 stop strategy.

Laps 24-30
I keep pulling away from the RX8 and on the lap 30 I am about 14 seconds ahead of the RX7. This means I have to gain another 14 seconds in the second half of the race - right on target.

Laps 30-48
RX8 always pits together with me and always behind me so he is beaten. I'm 20 seconds ahead of the RX7 so if I keep the pace up I will build enough gap to stay ahead after the pit stop.

Lap 48 - I ran out of fuel half way through the lap. I filled it with 28 liters which was enough for previous 3 stints but I guess I was pushing too hard this time.

Abandoned the race ...

I'll be honest here, I've seen longer race reports on 3 lap races, this is 60 laps and descirbes every 12 laps over 2 lines.

RX8 always pits together with me

The RX8 pits with you when? How many times do you pit?

Those kind of details would be good, even if you abandoned the race, you could still include at least some detail.

Hope this helps for next time,

George.

Ok, I'll take more notes next time. (I ran 4 pit strategy - pit every 12 laps)

I'm running the race again but this time there is pretty much no competition.
36 laps done, RX8 10 seconds behind me, all 3 stoppers way back.
It's getting boring actually :-)
