Great list of covers. Some of my favs are in here already but a couple that weren't mentioned are:

Foo Fighters - Band on the Run (originally by Paul McCartney & Wings)
Foo Fighters - Baker Street (originally by Gerry Rafferty)
and one that I'm surprised that no one mentioned.
Gary Jules - Mad World (originally by Tears for Fears)

Some that I like
Stone Temple Pilots-Revolution (The Beatles cover)
Everlast-Folsom Prison Blues (Johnny Cash cover)
Sonic Syndicate- All About Us (t.A.T.u cover)
Pantera-Planet Caravan (Black Sabbath cover)
Disturbed-Land of Confusion (Genesis cover)
Killswitch Engage-Holy Diver (Dio cover)
ZZ Top-Viva Las Vegas (Elvis Presley cover)
Dope- You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) (Dead or Alive cover)
Marilyn Manson- Personal Jesus (Depeche Mode cover)
Johnny Cash-Personal Jesus (Depeche Mode cover)
Johnny Cash-Hurt (Nine Inch Nails cover)
Johnny Cash-I've Been Everywhere (Hank Snow cover)
Alan Jackson-Margaritaville (Jimmy Buffett cover)

There are probably more but that is all I can come up with for now.

Awesome cover of All That Remains- This Calling

Surprisingly good, although she could use some better audio equipment.

I'm really quite taken with the covers Dream Theater did for the special edition of Black Clouds & Silver Linings: Rainbow's Stargazer, Queen's Tenement Funster / Flick of the Wrist / Lily of the Valley, Dixie Dregs' Odyssey, Zebra's Take Your Fingers From My Hair, King Crimson's Larks' Tongues in Aspic Pt. 2 and Iron Maiden's To Tame a Land.

Take a very known movie song, a great shredder, and you get this:

Dueling Banjos, by Steve Ouimette. (You'll have to raise the volume a little.)

METALLICA - WHISKEY IN THE JAR (Thin Lizzy)
and also TURN THE PAGE (Bob Seger) that is one of the best covers i have heard IMO

Revival.

"Master of Puppets"/ Trivium (Metallica)
"Milkshake"/ Goodnight Nurse (Kellise?)
"Hallowed Be Thy Name"/ Machine Head (Iron Maiden)
"Rebel Yell"/ Children of Bodom (Billy Idol)
"Cars"/ Fear Factory (Gary Numan)"
"Johnny B. Goode"/ Marty McFly and the Starlighters or George Thorogood (Chuck Berry)
"Smooth Criminal"/ Alien Ant Farm (Michael Jackson)
"Helter Skelter"/ Pat Benatar or Motley Crue (The Beatles)
"In The Air Tonight"/ Nonpoint (Phil Collins)
"Island In The Sun"/ Weezer (Forgot original)
"Blue Monday"/ Rammstein (New Order, Orgy)

Just off the top of my head.

Sander van Doorn's mix of Message in a bottle by The Police is honestly the best cover/mix I have heard in my life

Guns N' Roses - Live and Let Die (Paul McCartney and Wings)
System of a Down - The Metro (Berlin)
System of a Down - Snowblind (Black Sabbath)

I personally love The Metro and Snowblind. I reckon most fans of Black Sabbath will prefer the original over the cover, but why fans of Berlin prefer the original over the cover is something I don't understand. Live and Let Die, well... everyone has listened it, at least once. I'm surprised I didn't saw it.

"Band On The Run"/ Foo Fighters (Paul McCartney & Wings)
"Careless Whisper"/ Seether (WHAM)

Oh, and what I feel is one of the worst covers of all time (if you can find it)
"Don't Fear The Reaper"/ H.I.M. I personally thought it would turn out well, but it's absolute rubbish. Fail. 👎

While reading through this thread...
Some funny ones:
The Devil Went Down to Jamaica-Weird Al Yankovic(Parody of the devil went down to georgia)
Elmo's got a Gun-Weird Al Yankovic(parody of Aerosmith's-Janie's got a Gun)

Please tell me you got these from Limewire, because Weird Al did neither of those songs!

Anywho, here's a few:
Ensiferum-Battery (Orig. Metallica)

Dope-Spin Me Round (Orig. Dead or Alive)

Tia Carrere-Ballroom Blitz (Orig. The Sweet)

Spiderbait-Black Betty
(Orig. Ram Jam)

Rob Zombie-Blitzkrieg Bop
(Orig. The Ramones)

A Perfect Circle - People are People (Depeche Mode)
Lollipop Lust Kill - Personal Jesus (Depeche Mode)
Children of Bodom - Aces High (Iron Maiden)
Children of Bodom - Silent Screams (Slayer)
Pantera - Cat Scratch Fever (Ted Nugent)
Motörhead - Whiplash (Metallica)
Motörhead - Enter Sandman (Metallica)

To be honest... I prefer the Motörhead versions...

EDIT: Forgot one! :P

Five Finger Death Punch - Bad Company (Bad Company)

Really? Yeah I did get them from Limewire. Do you know who done them then? Thanks for pointing that out. :)

"Another parody was "Elmo's Got a Gun" by Tommy & Rumble. It was about Sesame Street character Elmo going on a killing spree. It is often improperly attributed to "Weird Al" Yankovic. There are many fan-made videos of this on Youtube."

As far as "The Devil Went Down to Jamaica", I keep seeing David Allan Coe, but I'm not positive on that.

Another one
Mindless Self Indulgance-Tom Sawyer (Orig. Rush)

Lincoln uses some pretty good covers in their commercials.

The Church - Under the Milky Way covered by Sia is really good.

Peter Schilling - Major Tom covered by Shiny Toy Guns is also really good, I can't stop listening to it. I like the Vollig Losgelost version of the original better, but the English version and the cover are both equally great.

"The Flaming Lips and Stardeath and White Dwarfs with Henry Rollins and Peaches Doing The Dark Side of the Moon"

I've been listening (a lot) to this. Some of the song covers are IMO very good.

Grand Funk Railroad's cover of Little Eva's "The Loco-Motion" has got to be one of the greatest covers of all time.

Five Finger Death Punch - Bad Company (Bad Company)
Metallica - Turn the Page (Bob Segar)
