I think it will be interesting to not pose any restrictions because some cars have the handling advantage and some have a horsepower advantage.

Good point! Back in the day that was the way it was. There were a lot of good race stories about how the high horsepower cars would scream down the straights and the better handling cars would make up time in the corners. I remember one driver saying the race was won in the straights not the corners. He was reminiscing about the Cobra and how fast it was in the straights and he could hear it coming when it passed him then he would catch back up to it in the corners. Well end of story goes like this - the finish line is not in the corners!

When you all get this figured out I might join in the races sounds like fun! 👍

Well whatever you all decide is fine by me. i have been trying to practice on laguna seca in my camaro and mustang with no aids . I still need some work but it is fun. So count me in for anything

If it is all fair with everyone, I have Fiber Optic Internet. Which means I am a suitable host (I believe) How about Saturday or Sunday Night around say 9:00pm EST I make a room in my lounge.

I believe in one Group, the 60' Corvette, 70' Trans Cammer, (both are far from stock and have alot of upgrades before personal tuning atleast making them close to equal to the Camaro and Challenger RM) 69' Camaro RM, and the 70' Challenger RM as one group.

(I need anyone with the Trans Cammer and the Corvette tell me what PP range they are in please btw)

Once I get all the PP number for the selected cars above, I will add them all up, then divide by number of cars (4) find the average and use that as a bases for the PP limit in that group.

In a Second group we can run Stock Chassis Cars, Aka GT350R, Camaro Z/28, SS, Challenger, Charger, Cuda, Tempest, Superbird,Cobra, etc etc. I say with this group, just limit the Power at peak 650 or so, and the rest anyone car do what ever they wish. Or we can gather all the PP numbers of the cars, avg them out too and set it via PP as a limit.

Far as the races, I believe the All Aids besides ABS be on 1. There should be atleast 10-20 laps depending on the track. And atleast a 10-15 minutes window of practice/qualifying before the race.

Does this sound Savy to you guys or..................?

Kalmiya that sounds like just what this needed, some organization. I will add you shortly and would very much be interested in test trials this weekend.

Thinking Sat. or Sunday Night 9:00PM EST. Either in a public room or my lounge (which would help control people who would otherwise enter come in and be stupid)

Def send the PP Numbers! Also, I am looking at stock and Modified PP numbers as well. I have the Camaro and the Challenger RM and they are Tuned Max, So I will be using those numbers. So anyone with a Maxed out Trans Cammer and or Corvette please do speak up!

I realize, there are also some other advantages/disadvantages. Those who use a controller (like myself) Vs those who use a wheel have a whole ball game thats is different. In my Camaro thread, a guy who is good, proved that having a wheel allows for much better lap times.

I was also thinking far as rules regulations, Penalties will be on strong, or weak? I do not know all the details on how that will work but I can not think of many ways to counter act the accidents or bumping that will happen. I am open to suggestions on this. My biggest issue I have is passing some one in a clean manner. I have many times rammed people because we would approach a corner and they would brake way way earlier than I do, If push them off track I normally wait til they get back on and get in front of me before resuming racing with them. I would believe if we actually get a series going, We will have three or so People who will review replays to help settle disputes or what have you.

If you can do sunday night it would be better for me.

I think we should start with all the penalties off maybe except for holding the brake at the start.

I have had a case where someone bumps me by accident causing me to cut the track a bit and i get a penality for cutting.

maybe leave those off until we are comfortable with how each other drives.

Edit: i sent you a pm with the pp specs.

ThanKs! I say we have a kinda rude Practice run Saturday night and a more organized gathering Sunday. Those who wish to run Send a Friend Request with Trans Am as subject. Then at the posted times 8-9 Saturday 9 Sunday I will have my Lounge open.

Looking at the PP number roughly, I am thinking 600 Even would be a good limit for the Group One Cars. Far as the Second I have no clue, maybe a 500 type deal.

Any arguments for or against is highly appreciated.

Had a good time practicing tonight with you and gtdriver and redcam and viper.. We need more people to get on . Hope to get more laps in so I can learn more . You have that camaro tuned really well, thanks again

I'm a noob and started this thread to see if there was an interest. I'm glad to see that there is.. I will try to get on tonite for practice.. I do have all the cars that we can race so I guess I will have to try them all and see which is the best fit for me. I have to race radio controlled cars today but will be on later tonite..

Oh forgot to ask what track are you going to start with?

I believe Laguna Of course, then move on to Deep Forest, and whatever everyone votes for.

Send a friend request for sure, I will be making the room in my lounge as I got tired of having to explain, harass, stop what I am doing and kick people out who either can not read or just complete idiots/kids. Having it in the lounge just gets rid of that issues easily.

After looking at the cars, I believe for the Group One cars (69' Camaro RM, 70' Challenger RM, 70' Trans Cammer, 60'Corvette) A PP limit of 650 seems just about right. I am open to suggestions on this. I am unsure if you guys want to have the 66' A/c cobra in this group. I honestly have not driven mine enough to gauge it. I do know most the people who use it are fast in a straight but can't turn worth crap. Rather it be skill or car issue, I do not know.

Ont eh stock Chassis cars, I believe 550 is a good limit. Almost everyone I have is near 500 stock or otherwise, and with the whole variety I believe 550 makes a good set. It can be adjusted later on.

As noted before I do not care what tires you run. I personally use Racing Softs. I am not one to dictate what you use or how you set up your car.

Also Also, Wik, I was thinking as a Finale type race. We all do 70' Superbirds 20 laps on Daytona Speedway?

A daytona race with superbirds would be awsome...
Sure. :) As long as it doesn't count in the season standings... Who know's how often those rare 'Birds turn up in the Used Car Lot?:guilty:

I have 5 or 6 of them

I vote for practice tonight as i am available and always looking for a good muscle car race room. Also i second the Superbirds at Daytona, I have a Petty blue one i absolutely love racing there.

In what colors?:D

Sassy grass, lemon twist , In Violet ( purple) , Frosted teal metallic, And black
I also have a tawny gold cuda 440 six pack I would swap for another one in a different color , As long as its not burnished red or gold

Lemon Twist, please. ;)

What you have to swap? I have a ton of ss camaros and chargers and chevelles. unless its an odd color , I love the cudas , Heck try me I may swap send me a friend request and we can work somthing out

How about using the 71 Mustang? It is about the same built up as the cuda and challenger. I'm a ford man and want to run a Mustang. They did run in the trams Am back in the day.. I really wish pd would have gotten the AMC Javelin cause that is my favorite..

I was hoping that we could run at 8 EST. 9 is a little too late to start racing for me.. But that is up to you guys. I would have love to so this but has to be earlier or I can't do it. Sorry..
