Unfortunately for you, the topic at hand is proportion errors. Therefore this part of your post is completely irrelevant, and does nothing to bolster your position.

Unfortunately for you, when you make the claim that the model in question is correct because PD made it and they are a multimillion dollar developer and HKS racer is not so it obviously must be, you open the door for any example that shows how patently absurd the statement is. You said nothing about proportions. You made the claim that it couldn't be wrong because of who made it. The Audi was just the easiest to find the picture of, but it's not the only one.

How about the obvious proportional error made with the jaguar which had the head of the driver sticking through the roof? Just completely destroys your argument that multi-million dollar developers are not wrong.

Speaking in the fashion of the show Spartacus, "Remove head from ass."

What about cars that you cant actually sit in with a helmet on without having the seat lower or the roof higher...

Please tell me more about how seeing a car once, briefly in real life, has made you an expert at 3D model recreation. And how inaccurate a multi million dollar developer is at making them.
Sorry to disappoint you but once you'll see one for real you'll realise the real car is wider, rear wheels are so much wider than GT5.

Multi million dollar what, who, when? Are there some official news PD laser scanned the Lamborghini Aventador? If not you can even spend bilion dollars on it, the end result could not be 100% correct. Go see one in real life than come back to this thread.

Having seen one parked at the quay with the chance to get a good look around it - it looks pretty accurate to me?
Are you sure the one you looked at in real life didn't have wider tread than stock?

Video games have a tendency to struggle with scale, there are a few cars (Subaru wagons for instance) that seem to look smaller ingame than they are in real life to me; but are accurate as far as I know. (Feel free to disprove me on this)

I have no facts or figures to show you, so it's just my opinion 👍

Though neither do you as far as I can make out

I'm sure someone with the time and inclination could work out the model width* in the game by measuring it up against something with known dimensions and then compare it to the real thing.. however I am not that someone.

(Model width, not the width in the statistics page obviously)

Found some decent photos, stock version booth in GT5 and real life. Real life tyres looks wider to me.

I guess you also want to pick on the depth of the mirrors as well? Hard angle to get an accurate look though. The left rear on the GT5 pic looks wide enough from that angle...

Yes side mirrors looks a bit off too. I'm not saying the should laser scan all the cars in the game, but for car like this, good proportions are a must. They could use laser scan for hypercars and keep their usual guess work on the normal cars. Also an option to modify tyre size is more than welcome.

Debatable. Or considering the brand, let's say Debata-bull.

Looks correct to me?

I didn't quite get the angle right as I'm doing several things at once right now. (overexposed goodness for a better view of the tyres)

Having a view in Photomode, they also look fine to me... Lets see if we can work some magic and get some clarity...

Are we seriously arguing about a possible few milimeters big difference? Which can hardly be seen by pure eye? Some people... smh.

It would seem so..

I think the 'difference' is more a visual trick caused by the differing tyre patterns.

Seems to be what it is. Ive got a real life image of the rear end and a GT5 image of the rear end, and the tyres are pretty spot on. What isnt spot on though is the shape of the tail lights... And if he/she wants to revive such an old thread, then yes, we are going to make a big deal out of it.

As opposed to if HKS racer had made a new thread about it, where he would have been bitched out and probably pointed to this thread anyway.

One thread is about an Aventador losing its Turbo, another is about its tyre width... Different enough topics to warrant a new thread, seeing as this one, until HKS posted, had nothing at all to do with physical size and shape...

Practically nothing was on topic before this revival - may as well use an existing thread with an ambiguous title rather than make a new one just to debate over tyres (I still can't believe this is a thing)

Are you under the assumption that if HKS racer made a thread titled "Aventador Modeling Problems" or some such that several people wouldn't just link him to this thread on the name alone without actually reading it; then go on to tell him that whatever he was saying doesn't justify a new thread in the first place?

He searched for a topic about the Aventador. He found this thread with the misleading title and the off the cuff ramblings that made up the first page. He posted in it, and at this point the thread has had more posts talking about the accuracy of the car model than the original topic that was never specifically defined. No point in closing the stable after the horses have fled.

Exactly I always read about the "use the search button" thing, I did it.
I posted in a thread about the Aventador my impressions after seeing the car in real life. I guess I need to see GT5 version in real life (LoL) to confirm if it's really spot on or not.

It only looks correct bacuse you zoomed GT5 photo a bit too much compared to the photo I posted. So if you zoom out properly GT5 tyres are smaller.

I dunno. They look about the same distance away to me...

Am pretty surprised that they didn't model the rivets in the rear bumper, though.

*shrugs*

They're even the same ratio.. =/

No matter how near or far I zoom in on the tyre, it's the same size as the real thing from every photo I'm comparing it with.

If you don't want to accept that I'm not going to bother sitting here in photoshop layering them all together to show you.

They forgot the small knobs on the rear bumper / game ruined.

How did you do that?:banghead:
I can not complete a single perfect lap with that particular car!!!

Congratulations to whoever did it!👍

whoever disagrees is either blind or so stoned that they think the red car is the one from GT5 and the one above is the real one... :dunce::embarrassed::D

You've either missed the point of that post entirely or you're incredibly bad at wording your sentences.

Yes. That's a huge difference, you are right. I will never play GT5 again. In fact I will send an email to Lamborghini requesting them to file a lawsuit against Polyphony Digital for falsifying their products...:indiff:
