Any Reasons Why the Aussie V8 Supercars wont be in GTP5

As GT4 had Glen Seton's Ford Credit Au Falcon V8 supercar, any reason to believe why their wouldnt be the revised Model of the aussie Supercars in GT5?

It would be sensational to see that they had added the latest model Ford & Holden Supercars into the game plus some australian tracks...

Yeah, I think that was the reason they couldn't have newer V8 supercars on GT4, because Codemasters had the license. But it would be awesome to have VE's and FG road cars and V8 Supercars on GT5. Bathurst would be nice, but not likely to happen. Imagine that, Holden vs Ford battle around Bathurst on GT5.

I'm not sure why you think there will not be any V8 supercars in GT5. Sure only one has shown up in two games and two road going versions have shown up, but I doubt they wil be excluded and actually, I don't even think codemasters has the license to them.(though I may need to look kust to make sure).

Any reason?

The oldest reason, Australia is a minority, though PD hasn't ignored us, but I hope they add Bathurst, I honestly would be happy if they don't add anymore Aussie cars as long as they add Bathurst.

But don't get me wrong I still want more Australians cars, more road cars though.

Bathurst would be nice, but not likely to happen.

You never know, PD has been to Bathurst so they obviously know about it.

Really? I didn't know that. I'd really love to see PD make the Mount Panorma circuit because in my opinion no other game has got it right. V8 supercars 3(codemasters) is closest in my opinion but it's still not right.

Years ago when they got hold of the FPV's to scan/photograph etc for GT4 they did it a Mount Panorama so some Australian article claimed don't know if they got track data while they were there or not.

Mount Panorama is one of the world greats (second greatest IMO), they really started adding them with GT4 and if they continue we should get it sooner or later (along with Spa's etc)

Yeah, I always class Mount Panorama as a short Nurburgring. The thing is with Mount Panorma that's different to Spa is that Bathurst has concrete walls everywhere, Not many big run-off areas(except for the chase). At Spa you can get it wrong and still be ok, Bathurst very rarely that happens. Bathurst is a very unforgiving track.

When we drove round it in our road car at 40km/h it seemed too fast through the dipper! I was thinking to myself, "These blokes are crazy who drive across the top of the mountain at 200km/h". Amazing to see how scary it is.

Anyway, lets hope they did take track data and it's in GT5.

That's so right! The Mountain Track has quite a few simularity's to the Nurburging. Just like you said; Bathurst is an unforgiving track just like Nurburgring. Both tracks are intimidating especially if a Driver has had previous unfortunate history.:scared: The Nurburgring and Bathurst are tracks for courageous Driver's, especially when driving high speed machines like the V8 Supercars. Just like everyone loves the Nurburgring, if Mount Panarama where to be added to GT5 I'm certain that it would be VERY popular as it is sort of like a short version of the Nurburgring. "Alot of techicality, Narrow sections, Wide sections and also some very high speed sections". This description works for both the Nurburgring and The Mountain.:D:tup:
To all those that are not familiar with Mount Panarama in Australia, have a look at this video for a basic idea of what it is:

I do hope PD include this brilliant track!;)

Yeah it's also a licencing arrangement, like back when EA had Porsche for Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed.

It's a shame, because I'd like to drive Rick Kelly's Commodore around. That way I won't feel guilty when I punt people off, and people will generally assume that I'm a pr!ck.

 You're obviously a ford fan?

Mikes ya feew good ta buei 'Strine (Translation: Makes you feel good to be Australian)

Those ariel shots are amazing.

Mad - I don't know what you're talking about. We went round in a hired Tarago and it felt fine at 60. We went there 2 weeks after the '06 race.

Don't worry, no one gets hurt

I told my dad to stop where this happened and I managed to get a peice of Carbon Fibre from the front bumper. It was sooo deep in the dirt of the wall and it was like an iceburg. Only a bit was visible but I pulled and there was quite alot. I was amazed there was anything after 2 weeks.

We drove around there 3 weeks after the '06 race. We went and signed the Holden Skyline wall and all that. I was constantly pointing out the marks on the walls from where cars had hit, Mark Skaife, Jim Richards etc. Great day out at Bathurst.

 This has turned into a Bathurst thread.

I think I remember reading that you dislike Holden because of parity issues years back? I guess you hate Ford now the FG is on track......

You should seriously be ashamed though if you hate a manufacturer for racing incidents, blame the driver if you feel that way, not the car which is just a tool.

Edit: For anyone confused over my reaction, Ford fans blame Rick Kelly for costing Lowndes the championship and taking it himself a few years back after the tiniest little tap that managed to make Lowndes spin. In all honesty it was a racing incident, but tell Ford fans that......

Nope, that's not it at all. I really don't give a damn whether the car out front is a Ford or a Holden if the racing is good. What I really hate is Kelly resorting to pushing Lowndes off to win a championship he never deserved because he failed to win a single round. That's what I object to, and I'd feel exactly the same way if it were a Ford. Holden showed a disgusting display of poor sportsmanship that weekend, with Tander blocking Lowndes through the race, Skaife forcing him to drive off the road at one of the msot dangerous points on the circuit and culminating in Kelly taking a racing line any driver would know could only lead to his running wide, then punting Lowndes off and having he nerve to say Lowndes caused the accident. It's exactly the same as Michael Schumacher trying to drive Villeneuve off the road at Jerez in 1997. That's why I want to get behind he wheel of the little bastard's car and cause chaos: because I think he's shown himself to be one of the most disgusting examples of a sportsman in the country.

/\ So long as you don't hate Holden for it then I'm fine. The other Holden drivers blocking him was a little cheeky, but I honestly think the tap was a racing incident. He was pushing hard as obviously he wanted the championship too. Unfortunately when he outbroke Lowndes, Craig squeezed him to the inside. He didn't really have anywhere to go, but everyone will have a different view on it.

BTW, I'm quite sure we've had threads like this in the past, but I could be wrong.

 Yeah. It's bringing back a Holden vs Ford topic that I thought was dead and buried 2 years ago!

If memory serves me correctly I think your right about past threads Paulie. However Do you race? could maybe keep the "Driver Bashing" to another thread, because as far as I can see thats not "on topic" in this one. It's about "Any Reasons Why the Aussie V8 Supercars wont be in GTP5".

Not drivers of race cars no matter what team or manufacturer they drive for.

Well thats the way I read it anyway.:sly:

Well since I started this topic, an inlight of the current conversation I feel I have to add this. Couldnt Agree more 'DO YOU RACE' I was there in 06 I am a ford man and there was no way in hell R.Kelly was going around that corner with the rest of the pack...prob dont need to say anymore than that...except who ever wants to drive RKelly's car thats cool ill be Lowndes and we'll make it 1 all!

so any firm reasons why they wont be in GT5 back on topic...

Yes i love a bit of argy bargy in australian supercar racing, but am definately a holden person and will never change no matter how much you ford fans wave fords under my nose, ( it''l end up burning my nostril hairs ) but thats a price im willing to pay!!!

I am a Holden/HSV man...always been. I love my clubbies and R8s, and that low thwumpy rev noise they make.
The only reason why there wouldn't be V8 supercars is licensing and whether PD are bothered to make any. I thought there would be a popularity issue aswell, but after being part of this site - it doesn't seem an issue for oversees people.
It wouldn't be that hard either if you are making the current of each Supercar. You have 2 models and then just change the livery.

If V8SC do make it, I'd think they'd only put in manufacturer teams purchaseable from the manufacturer in game. (i.e. FPR and HRT).

Im not Australian but i love the V8 Supercars Series. I really hope GT5 to features, at least, these 2 top teams/cars:

FORD: http://www.v8supercars.com.au/conte...nds/268/related_photos/latest/?photo=32695953

HOLDEN: http://www.v8supercars.com.au/conte.../rounds/268/related_photos/13/?photo=32695632

These are the 2009 cars, if you notice, the Vodafone Ford has a "Norton 360" sponsor on the windshield. Maybe Sony wouldnt like to see a 360 number on a GT car (you never know), but if that was some kind of problem they could use the 2008 cars, wich liveries are basically the same except there isnt a 360.

I really think Codemasters no more holds the V8 license. They didnt feature V8/DTM in Grid. I dont even know if, when they had it, it was an exclusive or a non exclusive one.
