So I've just had a look at the Playstation 4 in some depth after the US launch, and I have to say the console as a whole is a letdown. No Video or audio playback, no picture viewing, the hardware itself lacks charisma and looks cheap because it is cheap (so cheap it has HDMI problems, DOA etc).
You can tell Sony really cut costs with the PS4 from the get go instead of launching a cost cut version many years down the line. Feels like a PS4 super slim. I'd hate to see how bad the ps4 super slim really will be if its even possible to make one cheaper than the PS4 as it is.
In compassion the launch PS3 looks like James bond. The build quality of the launch PS3 is many orders of magnitude greater.
Moving on, the graphics look not that big of a step up. And we now have to pay for PSN Plus to play online games. I knew it was going to happen, as when PSN came out it needed to establish new ground so it was free, but still worth mentioning as a step back for gamers.
I wanted GT6 on PS4 as well, but to be honest I now appreciate the PS3 that much more as a serious and more well rounded console and glad we get another GT game on it to spend some more time with it. The PS4 seems like a spoilt little annoying brat in comparison. I will eventually get it for the next GT game, but I'm glad I can avoid for a little longer.
I'm glad we get to enjoy at least a few good years GT6 on the ps3 before ps4 takes over and they surely pull plug on free ps3 PSN and GT6 online.
