Anyone else glad GT6 is on PS3 and not PS4?

So I've just had a look at the Playstation 4 in some depth after the US launch, and I have to say the console as a whole is a letdown. No Video or audio playback, no picture viewing, the hardware itself lacks charisma and looks cheap because it is cheap (so cheap it has HDMI problems, DOA etc).

You can tell Sony really cut costs with the PS4 from the get go instead of launching a cost cut version many years down the line. Feels like a PS4 super slim. I'd hate to see how bad the ps4 super slim really will be if its even possible to make one cheaper than the PS4 as it is.

In compassion the launch PS3 looks like James bond. The build quality of the launch PS3 is many orders of magnitude greater.

Moving on, the graphics look not that big of a step up. And we now have to pay for PSN Plus to play online games. I knew it was going to happen, as when PSN came out it needed to establish new ground so it was free, but still worth mentioning as a step back for gamers.

I wanted GT6 on PS4 as well, but to be honest I now appreciate the PS3 that much more as a serious and more well rounded console and glad we get another GT game on it to spend some more time with it. The PS4 seems like a spoilt little annoying brat in comparison. I will eventually get it for the next GT game, but I'm glad I can avoid for a little longer.

I'm glad we get to enjoy at least a few good years GT6 on the ps3 before ps4 takes over and they surely pull plug on free ps3 PSN and GT6 online.

I'm very glad. I don't have to invest in the console and we won't have to settle for a less-than-fully featured GT6. FM5 on XB1 sounds nice, but only having 200 cars and 14 tracks is a poor effort on their part. They'll be DLCing that thing to death to get it up to where FM4 was. If you factor in the cost of the console and all the eventual DLC, the full cost of ownership of FM5 could be astronomical.

I don't think Sony will make you pay for PS3's online, if they do, many people are going to be very pissed.

On the other hand, I'm happy that GT6 is on PS3, I wouldn't have to worry about getting a PS4 or PS Plus subscription.

Well they've done it for PS4 and people aren't up in arms about it lol, so why would you be suprised. I dont mean now, I mean in the future.

Heck, Microsoft has been doing it for years and XBox folks seem happy to pay for it. I'm shocked Playstation hasn't already been doing this. Thankful they don't though.

You guys both realise that its already done right? You NEED to pay for PSN plus to have any kind of online gaming on ps4. So gt6 will be the last time you can use the online features as part of the game you've bought like any other feature.

I'm glad it's for PS3 because I don't want to have to get a PS4 since I'm getting a new wheel and seat.

Yes, for PS4. But there's no reason for a hardcore Gran Turismo player to have a PS4 yet, so it is still free for me.

Why would you want to spend more time with obsolete hardware?, unless you are a retrogamer and you keep all your old consoles just for collecting purposes, the PS3 holds no value against the PS4. The days when the companies kept supporting their old systems are over, I'm pretty sure both SONY and MS will be pulling the plug sooner than 2015.

I am glad that GT6 coming too playstation 3. I am not looking to get the playstation 4 this year and their is a much bigger install base with PS3 than PS4 right now.

IMO, hardcore gamers like new hardware so they favor the PS3. Hardcore driving enthusiast just want to enjoy a good racing sim. I'm personally glad the PS3 gets a last hurrah; the PS4s impressive but paying for a new system and online use doesn't seem worth it .

To me the PS3 holds more value against the PS4, for now atleast. The PS4 has no interesting games right now as is standard fare for new consoles at launch so I don't quite find an interest in paying 400$ for a PS4 right now. Neither does the Microsoft VCR One with it's astronomical price for Forza 5.

Having GT6 on the PS3 seems logical enough, given the current install base (MONEY) and the fact that I don't have to buy an entirely new console that doesn't interest me otherwise for just this game, regardless of how much more awesometacular it would be if it was on the PS4.

Oh yeahhhh!!

Still waiting for economic recovery hereabouts.
The PS3 still seems to be working well. 👍 (knock on wood)

So no complaints with having my favourite game come out for the console we already have. :)

Me... that means that I don't have to make the same mistake I did with GT5: Buy a new console...

Still, GT6 is not my target game this fall. I'll just wait for first reviews and how the DLC and update stuff unfolds to see if it's worth it...

yep pretty satisfied. But this time im going to wait until all DLC comes out, then i'll buy the XL edition or whatevet they will call it. Not making the same mistake when i bought GT5.

Not sure how to insert a poll after you've made a thread. I give permission for a mod to add one.

We can't insert one for you on this thread, but you're free to make another thread with a poll, and I can move all these posts to it.

I'm not sure if I want to say GT6 is better off on the PS3 than with the PS4. While I am not as educated on GT6 and/or the PS4, I'm fairly okay. I think I remember once when the PS3 was out and (I think) God of War II was released for the PS2 instead of PS3. Then again, I don't follow the God of War series, so don't take that statement for gospel.

I think having GT6 on the PS3 will give PD a good idea as to what they can do to utilize the PS4's power for whatever future GT arises on the PS4. I think Gran Turismo needs a generational leap for the next GT to be incredible while also keeping the series' life going strong. Enjoy GT6 on the PS3, but dream about how you can make a great franchise hopefully better for when the PS4 and its power are utilized.

I'm glad it is on the PS3, mainly because I don't need to buy a new console to play GT6 but also because if it were to be on the PS4 we would not be getting it this year.

Really though was there ever any doubt that it would be on the PS3, They said even before GT5 was released that they were already working on it and also made it sound compatible with GT5 which strongly indicates same platform.

I'm indifferent. If GT6 gave me a reason to get a PS4 then that would be cool but I can easily live with another PS3 game. The PS3 is still a great console.
Right on. Until there is a specific reason to get a new console, there's no reason to. The difference between GT6 on the PS3 in December 2013 versus, hypothetically, GT6 on the PS4 in December 2013 may not be all that different visually. GT7 on a PS4 in 2015 would make for a substantial upgrade and I'll be getting a PS4 at that time.

Yes it makes sense to lunch on PS3 but (i guess unlike the rest of you) im planning on getting a PS4 some time next year because i like to play more the just GT so come April or May of next year there needs to be a GT6 port either already out or comig soon
because you can't expect people to just play PS3 untill GT7 plus im tired of my PS3 i can't wait to get rid of it

I feel the PS3 needed a good send-off, and this is probably it. I also liked the idea I wasn't going to have to spend $400 and camp out at WalMart for 3 days to get a PS4. And I meant the camping part literally. I knew a couple guys who literally camped in sporting goods (where the launch for the PS3 was at my Walmart) for 2 days in order to be first in line.

It saved me $300, so yes. (I need a new PS3, which I estimate will cost $100, compared to the PS4's $400)
