wall of nonsense text

you lose any and all credibility when you compare CoD Ghosts' graphics to that of the Dreamcast...

Unreal Tournament Dreamcast

PS3 launch title Resistance: Fall of Man

PS4 launch title Call of Duty Ghosts

nahhh...no improvement to see here...

Lol do you also believe in the tooth fairy? You actually believed Sony when they told you they are isolated incidents? Lol. Ofcourse they will say that. 70 pages of DOA or dead consoles within a day or two.

Compared to 178 pages of good ones. Sure the unhappy owners are more likely to write a review, but that you think the failure rate is low and normal for consumer electronics is nonsense.

again...

Amazon currently has 697 1* reviews for the PS4...even if they were all verified purchases (they are not)...and none of them were reviews for shipment issues, or not receiving a console (those account for some)...thats still a MINUSCULE number compared to the 1 MILLION consoles Sony sold...

this is basic math here...like i said...even if you can show me proof of 10,000 faulty consoles (you cant) it would still only be 1%...which would still be WELL below industry standard failure rates...

I have some nice chuckles too over how stupid people are. Here's an example. Anyone with half a brain would immediately see in fact this game looks like utter ****, worse than most ps3 games and on par with dreamcast graphics, and yet somehow the guy playing it is in a state of trance and is blown away by what he sees simpiy because its "next gen" Like I said you could get a fresh turd call it next gen and people will be impressed.

lol @ the whole game but especially 2 min looking at the ugly truck and being blown away and 2 :18 in the shurbs that make counter strike sprites look real. He also specifically likes the textures even hough they are the worst textures I've seen since about 1999, on par with on Unreal tournament
I like how you say stuff like this as a completely stone-faced serious talking point.

I am of the opinion that GT7 will truly be the landmark GT game that we have been waiting for. So with the console already being in the hands of developers for some time now already and GT7 18-24mths away and Kaz already stating that the PS4 is a blank canvas for being able to develop content means that we should see the series have the most drastic evolution ever. So in this respect with GT6 being on the 3 it allows them the time required to be able to able to deliver an opus so for me in this respect I am not overly concerned GT6 is not on PS4.

And everyone said the same thing about GT5 coming to the brand new powerful PS3. Yet, GT5 was almost identical to GT4.

I'm very glad it's on the PS3. I don't plan on getting a PS4 for a year or two until there are a good variety of games available for it. I also don't care to drop $400 on a new console right now after I just spent $1,100 building a gaming PC earlier this year. Gran Turismo will undoubtedly be a vastly superior game on the more powerful hardware, and when it comes out on that hardware it will coincide nicely with when I'd like to buy it.

Truth be told nothing you have said has much merit or is plain wrong. It wasn't always as laggy for me, and millions of other people. The new one is clearly a disaster compared to the old one.

Also I wont bother making any more points after this as you clearly dont get anything and forcus on something entirely beside the point.

IF that link was too old here is one from August 2013

Do you want one from every month and all the colors or something?

Yes I can look at youtube footage to determine what a game looks like for the most part. 1080P is more than enough to get more than a good idea. It has worked with every other game or video footage and suddenly doesn't now? I am aware youtube vidoes are compressed. I am taking that into consideration. If anything the game will look even worse with better quality as it will show its flaws more clearly. Its like seeing a date on 1080p on youtube thinking they are hideous and then expecting them to be flawless in real life..

Not sulking hatred toward PS4 owners. I don't even know what that means. Just telling you PS4 is a lot ******* than it should/could have been and is easily the biggest let down so far. I felt PS2 was a bit under-powered as well at launch but that's the most successful console ever so it certainly doesn't mean PS4 will not be successful, In fact I think it will be and I hope it is. Xbox one is also a joke with its Kinect push bs.

Don't own a PS4. No plans to buy one as Have no reason to until GT7. Not sure if trolling just having some fun with sharing my views. IF something I like comes out I may get a ps4. Yes I've sen one taken apart. The design is great just the materials aren't that good. Its quite straightforward and simple inside.

I think most if not everything I have said has been correct, the rest of it is just opinion.

Cheers :)

All of what you say is opinion. Nothing wrong with that, this is an opinion board. BUT you still haven't showed anything about this....

...snip....
Sony purposely slowed down PSN store usability for the ps3 with an update to make ps4 look better. Its so bad it runs at 1 fps and after a few minutes use almost stops responding, whereas it used to work perfectly before the update. They do it to make the new thing its going to be compared to look that much better. Like Going up to ICS from Gingerbread on the Samsing Galaxy S2 when SGS 3 is coming out. The update made the SGS 2 phone painfully slow to use.

lol sleekest console design ever. HAHAHAhAHAh just remenissing on the time you said that.

You can show all the links in the world, it still doesn't back YOUR claim up. Your claim is that they made the PSN laggy on purpose, can you explain yourself? The numbers you provide don't really insinuate that this was done on purpose.

You can speculate all you want but you can't throw "opinions" down peoples throat. You mentioned the ICS/Gingerbread speculation, this isn't close to what you think happened. Without proper optimization, the S2 didn't handle the upgrade properly, the device was designed to use Gingerbread (or Fryo, I can't remember). These things need to be optimized in order to run smoothly. I run JellyBean on my S2, fully optimized and runs great. Sony rushed their "new" PSN to get it out in order to keep up - it came out roughly the same time XMB upgraded their UI.

The lag isn't an ascension that their trying to hype the PS4, it's poor Quality Control!

As I'm tired of this topic, as it's getting way off, I reluctantly bow out. It's hard for me to express views and support my words with someone who solely focuses on conspiracies, that a whole different debate.

GT6 on PS3 works for me.

Should be good to to go performance-wise having swapped the PS3's HD to SSD.
Not a whole lot else can be done to upgrade the PS3 then that.

Besides, according to this Sony PS4 FAQ my T500 is not "officially supported on the PS4.

USB Controllers: Not compatible, however publishers may decide to enable them on a title-by-title basis.

(Thanks to carson79 for the link)

...either way I am not sweating it, nowadays the prices for PCs that can run sims with good physics like rFactor, Assetto Corsa, Game Stock Car, iRacing etc. are not a whole lot more than a PS4.

I'm definitely glad GT6 is coming out for the PS3, because I simply CANNOT wait anymore. :D
first of all...lets get things straight on this "cheap" "HDMI problems" "DOA" nonsense....Sony sold through over 1 million consoles in 24hours in the US and Canada alone...even if there were 10,000 dead consoles (there isnt) that would be a 1% failure rate....which is WELL under accepted failure rates for consumer electronics...

i promise your tune about the graphics will change the moment you see the first screenshot of GT7...

It needs to change too.. because I don't think many will get on the band wagon unless it's something truly special and arrives in under 2 years.

thats like asking me would i want the most state of the art turbo or a old ass t78

wish it atleast has a PS4 version.

So I've just had a look at the Playstation 4 in some depth after the US launch, and I have to say the console as a whole is a letdown. No Video or audio playback, no picture viewing, the hardware itself lacks charisma and looks cheap because it is cheap (so cheap it has HDMI problems, DOA etc).
At launch the PS3 couldn't even manage background downloading of anything, didn't have the full range of HD audio outputs possible, had no DLNA support and I would say its a fairly safe bet that people had DOA issues with launch machines as well.

You can tell Sony really cut costs with the PS4 from the get go instead of launching a cost cut version many years down the line. Feels like a PS4 super slim. I'd hate to see how bad the ps4 super slim really will be if its even possible to make one cheaper than the PS4 as it is.
How can you really tell? Particularly given that every strip down review is saying quite the opposite. I take it that you actually have a PS4 to be able to make such a claim?

In compassion the launch PS3 looks like James bond. The build quality of the launch PS3 is many orders of magnitude greater.
So much better that I am now on my forth original fat 60gb launch machine, the past three all YLODing. Yep they glued them together well.

I get that you are happy that GT6 is out on the PS3, but don't let that rose tint the original PS3 launch machines, the issues the PS3 had with reliability or make wild assumptions about the PS4.[/quote]

I pretty much disagree with every single thing you had to say. I'm already in love with my PS4, it's so fast and convenient. They learned from their mistakes and fixed all of the problems from the PS3. A GT title on this would be awesome. It is very strange that media playback is missing from launch but it will be added later. I would be mad about that but my smart TV covers that stuff now.

The only good thing about GT6 launching on the PS3 is that we won't have to wait for more Gran Turismo and PD will make more money off the larger install base.

Very glad! I had bought a Wii U thinking the next great racing game would be project CARS. I sold my PS3 a couple years ago but I am buying one again this weekend for GT6. I don't plan on getting a PS4 for a year or two, plus the second iteration of Gran Turismo on a console has always been light years ahead of the first one, IMO.

TBH, I wouldn't mind if there was a GT6+ upgrade port for PS4, kinda like the other games you can upgrade for $10. Outside Resogun, not interested in the current game offerings. X1 with Forza should come today.

Yes I am happy that GT6 is for PS3, for these reasons:
-- I already own a PS3
-- Online is free on PS3 but not free on PS4
-- GT5 helped PD learn much about the PS3 hardware, and GT6 will benefit from this
-- I won't buy a PS4 until the eventual "slim" version with some problems worked out, as well as a lower price :)
-- Fun gameplay is more important to me than pretty graphics (this isn't a PS3 vs PS4 argument, I just think that
the greater power of the PS4 won't necessarily make the games more fun, but at least more pretty)
-- PD is not messing with their tradition of 2 GT games for each PS console.
-- Did I mention PS3 has free online? Yay free online!

I can't believe some people think the PS3 is obsolete. What a fickle and spoiled society we have become! Yes PS3 has been out for a few years, but it's hardly obsolete.

I'm really looking forward to GT6! WOOT!

I don't believe the .4% they are claiming when the PS3 has a 10% failure rate over a 2 year period. I know it's not the same thing, but I just dont believe .4%. I also don't think it's a huge problem. It's likely in the 3% range
