My point is lying makes you guilty. So, you're not innocent. Unless you just excuse yourself. I find forgiveness in Christ. Where does your forgiveness come from?

Don't preach your self-righteous BS to me, and don't claim you're not either. I'm not answering that question. Besides, it's off topic, so I'm ending it here.

Mattew 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Matthew 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

This is what Earth is talking about. Jesus was talking about his second coming and what would be going on in the world. That very much sounds like what's happening right now.

Swift, that's vague enough to come from any fortune teller. I'm surprised you'd be persuaded by that.

Do you really think Jesus's second coming is at hand?

According to a documentary on God, 44% of Americans believe they will live to see the second comming of Christ.

Edit - This is regarding the signs of second coming of Jesus Christ.

Sorry, but it sounds little weak to me, too. If there are figures proving that famines, earthquakes, etc. increasing, then it would be more credible......

Invading Iran might not be the smartest of things, but it will be necessary if Iran continues to disobey the UN and sends aid and terrorists into Iraq.

why is it when it comes to countries disobeying UN directives, america steps right in, but when it comes to america fulfilling its obligations (eg. paying its way), it ignores the UN totally? why is that?

*edit* some how i dont think that iran is supplying aid to iraq, they fought a savange an bitter 8 year war. as for the terrorists, you can thank the american military for their efforts. im sure thousands of possible terrorists were 'inspired' by the war in iraq. wasnt the talk about nuclear tests anyway, and not terrorists and aid?

What the hell? The United States pays 22% of the UN budget.

Where are your facts?

What you think does not null the truth.

No, in a word.

There have always been and always will be disasters. They're a fact of life. People try to see order in chaos with the idea of divine intervention.

**** happens, kids. That's all there is to it. There's no invisible man in the sky trying to get you.

I think he probably meant that:

http://www.globalpolicy.org/finance/docs/kofi99-1.htm

The U.S. refuses to pay a backlog of 1 billion because particularly the Republican party wants certain changes in the way the U.N. works. There's tons of hits on this subject, and the main point is that the U.S. doesn't meet its obligations to the U.N. because it wants to.

The U.S. has a point in certain areas certainly (like reimbursement for U.S. military involvement) but it still gives the U.S. the image of one that doesn't meet its obligations.

Does anyone get that newsmagazine called Star?

It's ALWAYS proclaiming the end of the Earth, and it ALWAYS has some new Nostradomus BS that's been found, and it's always got a different date for the end of the Earth. So, what's the truth?

Resurecting this thread.

I watched a documentary the other night called "countdown to armageddon" and it has me intrigued, the book of revelations spoke of the 4 horsemen etc, everything the 4 horseman can do is happening near enough, predictions made in the bible and book of revelations are happening, who knows about the anti christ, could be anyone if he exists. The gulfstream getting cooler because of global warming melting the ice caps into it could freeze everything, super volcanoe in america could destroy america theoretically with a dust cloud. Its all scary stuff how its happening, the pieces of the jigsaw are coming together, im watching everything now.

But don't you guys think that the end is coming nearer ? I think so, cause check out all the natural disasters, AIDS, global warming ... everything just seems to get worse, more problems, more deaths ... it just seems that everything is getting worse in this world ... I think it's going to go on like this, and we are going to destroy ourselves ...

kragbees
...we are going to destroy ourselves ...

Nope, we won't, but we're definitely going to drastically reduce our numbers. There's no way we can support anything like the horde we're going to be in the near future.

Sorry to revive what could have been a long dead thread, but IMO, end times = Osama bin Laden buying Russia's nukes on eBay.

Well, unlike nation to nation nuclear war, that is a possible scenario IMO. However, I'm not sure if it will end the world.

The end of humanity is, as far as our collective knowledge goes, no closer or farther than it was on any other date. We are ignorant of our own lifespan in the universe.

The Earth will end when Russian's invade the US and destroy all the fast food restaurants.:sly:

To give you perspective on just how dead this thread was, only 4 posts above yours is my first old banned account, decrying the dumbness of this thread.

That's how dead this still is.

And your point is... what? That you were a real tool for a really long time?

DriftKing did exactly what he was supposed to do - he searched and found an existing thread on his topic, then added his relevant post to the bottom. Got a problem with that?

It all depends on who you talk to.
There are some Christian purists out there that rattle off scriptures pointing out that we are in the end of times. They take their scripture, tie it to a current event, then,OMG,the world is going to end, hurry up and get right with God is what they say.

Me personally,if we are in the end of times,so be it.There isn't a 🤬 thing anyone on this planet can do about it,except get right with God,if you so believe.

Time will tell.

We've been in the end times since . . . . . well since forever.

Every civilization has its mythology of some apocolyspe, and every loony tune in town is always predicting the end just around the corner on the calendar. When that time passes uneventfully, they cite new evidence, new study, or new reading. Usually they just want your money. You know, to help spread the word and save more people. Aliens, comets, Jesus, whoever, will collect the worthy and smite the unworthy.

There are no end times, except for that really cool restaurant where little expense has been spared to give the impression that no expense has been spared.

The Neanderthals still rule from England to Spain to Israel to Siberia.
Nubian Egypt stills guards its pyramids.
Classical Greece and Sparta run well maintained Olympic games.
Carthage owns the Mediterranean.
Aren't the walls of Troy so fine?
The Roman Empire stands above the known world like a Colossus.
The Mayans yet run an efficient Empire in the America's.
The Third Reich is still controlling destiny from some place in Ultima Thule.

Yes, it's true. Our civilization is the mightiest ever and can never, ever end because, well, it just can't. See, we spare no expense to maintain our infrastructure and institutions. Our children are the healthiest and smartest on the planet. Our army has spread over the planet to subjugate the inferior and weak who somehow have the resources the we rightfully should control according to our finest business models. It's all those other jerks who deserve to suffer and die so that we may preen and boast.

So when some fool cautions you that all is not well, it's always safe to ignore and look into the mirror until that smug feeling of pride and contentment returns and reflects your full magnificence.

But.......they destroyed Home Tree!

Not what was meant at all.

Yes, civilizations rise and fall all the time, perhaps by conquest and absorption, through strife, moral decay, whatever.

Civilization, however, does not.

That is the prophecy of "end times," the end of civilization itself. Not just "as we know it," but. . . The End. Poof. Gone. Buh-Bye.
