Hello, I couldn't find anything about rally in gran turismo 5. Do you guys think they will be continue to have rally like in the previous GT or will they skip over? It would be sad if they skip... :grumpy:

KY has confirmed in a couple interviews (pretty old ones though) that rally will return, Eiger is officially a rally track, but be free to expect dirt courses too.

Is that the same KY that said GT4 would have online:sly:? I remember all the press photos of Grand Canyon before GT4 was released, yet I've yet to see a single shot of dirt for GT5. So, I'll believe it when I see it. Like I said on that other thread on here, I don't want to get my hopes up, and be disappointed.

I have yet to see a single screenshot or anything of GT5, all we have seen is Prologue, but yes indeed that is the same KY that said we would have online and drift comps in GT4. Thats why I made posts in the other thread that weather and damage is likely but not confirmed, atleast with Rally KY said we will have it rather than 'we are working on it'.

to be completely honest, i won't miss the dirt and snow rally tracks at all if they aren't in GT5, but i would be a bummer if there weren't any tracks like Citta di Aria in it though.

I would hate if GT5 didnt have Rally racing. I grew up watching it and I was always connected to it, it would be a bummer if GT5 didn't have rally. That's one of the biggest disappointments I have with Forza 2...

I completed "Special conditions" as first part of GT4, so I highly hope that there will be point to point roads, very narrow, for very raw experience. And gravel physics redone, because present version is just poor. Richard Burns Rally is my second best game after GT.

I'd enjoy dirt/snow if it was in the game, but tbh I'd rather they scrapped it and used their time (and disk space) on more road courses and gt cars. I just think it would fit in with the game more.

They could put touge in to satisfy anyone craving for p2p rallys, albiet on tarmac. I actually quite like how touge was implemented on GRiD so something similar to that would be good (but with decent physics!)

But as for dirt/snow as in previous GT games? It just goes on my list of nice-but-unnecessary features along with photomode and B-spec.

I couldent have said it better! If gt5 rally even come close to realism in RBR I whould be very suprised...but I want it :dopey:

i say save rally for rally games. I always hated the rally part of gt4 apart from the tarmac tracks.

I actually thought the rally physics in GT4 were pretty good. I mean sure RBR is better but overall I thought getting an Evo around Chamonix or the Grand Canyon was pretty challenging. I think the rally physics were better than the actual "road car" physics. I think what PD really has to improve are the smoke and dust effects. To me that has always been one of the week points in the GT series. I also really like taking cars like the stock EVO or STi and then slapping on some dirt tires and then driving them around the rally courses. If GT5 copied Gt4 rally mode with maybe one or two new tracks I would be happy.

If you want fun you should go in the Arcade mode and then drive around Chamonix in the Volvo S60 or the old Alfa Spider, i loved those cars on the snow.

My thoughts aswell.

this game's secrecy is like area 51...on a need to know basis. Just sit back and wait. PD will deliver, or they would not bother at all.

Has anyone seen codemaster's preview of Dirt 2?
I don't believe GT5's rally will able to beat the engine that their using.

It may be good in its own way, but gt5 and dirt is different classes, sim/arcade...

Just bring back chamonix and some new point to point rallyes, then im happy:)

I expect rally for GT5, and i hope it!. Eiger it's a great track! For me, one of the bests that PD created, so I think that we have some rally taste from GT5. Also point to point rallyes would be perfect!

What kind of rallying we can see in GT5?
- We will have rallying in GT5. There might be also special stages like in real rally races.

Booyah!

I'm dying to race the full Pikes Peak.

Well, unless some great corruption happens with PD then it looks like you're getting what you wish for.

I saw on Codemasters studio Tour (on Dirt2) and the engine is quite impressive. The first one, though, suffers from horrible physics- the cars were weightless and the handling was unmistakebly arcade. GT4 dirt physics was a shoulder abover that of DIRT- you actually need to know how to drive on either dirt or snow in oredr to complete a lap. While in DIRT, the steering wheel FFB doesn't add much to the game bur in GT4, I find it harder to drive with a steering than with the controller. The only thing lacking in GT4 in term of steering is that it feels too light.
I'm pretty sure off-road will make it onto GT5- I remember reading somewhere that KY wants to add a P2P rally rces in GT5. Hopefully CM will learn from their mistake (because both DIRT ad GRID while possessing a great graphics engine were lacking in the physics department).
