I was lucky enough to be selected to buy a PS5 from Sony last December so I'll be preordering soon. Wouldn't have considered it at launch since I didn't feel like getting a cross-gen game on older hardware. GT7 will be the only new game I get this year unless TDU3 ends up reviewing well.

I'm waiting a week and buying it used. Not happy with how the classic tracks are being mostly ignored, and with the online save requirement. If either one of those things changed I would happily buy it new and support PD.

Having had all GT games up to now, so just got the 25th anniversary edition (ps4 pro user). Don't like it? Sell the ps5 disc, which leaves you with a minimal hole in your wallet. The game would have to be proper broken for me to do that, given what it has in store for fans of the series: best graphics most polished game yet, great selection of cars, tuning/upgrades being back, etc. It really brings back the feeling that original one gave.

Voting with your wallet isn't always about money though. It's about not supporting things I don't agree with. Will the game be incredible? Of course! Are they taking a **** on longtime fans of the series that have been here since day 1? Yes. Is this just Gran Turismo Sport: Weather Edition? Kind of.

Even if myself and others raising a stink accomplishes nothing, it's still better than doing nothing.

Is it more the human condition raising a stink, than the game itself? Maybe we feel the need to polarise everything? The game does evolve from criticism so maybe its a necessary evil.

Well, if you were really looking to make a statement about not wanting to support PD and GT7, then you wouldn't buy the game at all. ....because even playing a used copy supports PD and GT7 by increasing the player engagement / population. You're essentially just carrying the torch for that gamer that gave up.

So if this protest is about more than money, why not go all-in and withdraw all support? Usually voting with your wallet means not supporting a company / product at all.

....just curious because I can see a point talking about value / worth (money) and going with used or waiting for a sale, etc., but apparently that's not the case here.

Just as a side note, it also (in theory) raises the price of used copies, thus making it more likely for other people to buy a brand new one.

I was going to cancel my pre order but then I watched the video of today with new AI. Coming to GT7 in the future. So no cancellation. Still waiting until it can download on the 25th February.

Because I still want to play the game. They can have their engagement/population, I'm fine with that, but they're not getting my money.

I'll take the risk of sending the used market on GT7 up by $.00001. It will most likely only be the first week that used copies will be going for $55 for a PS4 copy. I don't see GameStop raising the price of a used copy beyond that, and at that price, people are going to opt for a new copy anyways, regardless of what I do.

I got myself a PS4 Pro 2nd hand just for this particular game and preordered a PS4 disc version.

PS5 simply is almost never available and also for just 1 specific game; I don't think I will care about raytracing and special vibrators.

I'm really looking forward playing this new version.

Been keeping busy with GT6 and now GT5.

I do have to say that for me at this moment GT4 is still the best overall. More cars, more tracks, more street races, endurance races, rally races,...

There is an enormous lack of cars in both GT5 and 6. Or maybe your where supposed to buy them ?! I also only recently got myself
a second hand PS3 super slim, that was mostly because of the MGS collection that is only available on there.

Really missed GT, there is just no decent computer street racing game I think, rally games are excellent, I don't think GT will ever be able to compete with Dirt Rally or WRC or Dakar.

But for street there is nothing better and I have been playing since the PS1 :)

I do hope that new AI will give hard challenges and a lot more cars will become available later on (for free); also a PP limit on all races is needed I think.

Can't wait to go full throttle :)

I preordered the PS4 digital version reluctantly because it's still next to impossible to purchase a PS5 at retail here in the U.S. Not looking forward to downloading that huge amount of data though.

With all the extra things going on graphics wise. I hope it`s at least as good as GTS,which is fine by my standards.
Its Polyphony's magnum opus, they will ring every last drop out of it whilst keeping the frame rate stable ;-)

Its pretty simple, probably any extra graphic additions just wont be put on a PS4 version so they keep it running as smooth as GTS.

I think I'll check the scores on MetaCritic, but especially on EuroGamer and GameInformer, especially since I plan to get the PS4 version. Then, if the scores are above 80 (which I personally think is likely), then I'll probably get it a day later on Saturday the 5th. Ironically, that's the day I've made an appointment to get my actual, real-world driver's license renewed.

Won’t be buying at launch, In fact i don’t think i will buy until at least Christmas 2022. It’s not the outlay or getting my hands on a PS5, but my opinion is that many people will including myself will be disappointed with the game at launch, Yes i understand PD have indicated that there will be regular updates of cars and tracks. The game started as a PS5 exclusive then it became cross-gen, my opinion is that really Gt7 is Gt Sport 2. I have been playing GT since 1997, but i think i may take a rain check on this one. When the state of play video landed it didn’t change my mind, in fact it disappointed me a lot, there wasn’t really any information on Offline mode, i have played online, but with the current penalty system, won’t go near it now.

Your safest bet is the classic tracks, I hope they will add more in the future.

Online saves? I don't think thats possible to revert from that route. If you know the story about cars from modified GT5 save data was used for online races...
