@Nick Cannella just a heads up, there is a power interruption in my neighbourhood today. It's scheduled to end by race time, but just incase..... We are turning right tonight and stepping on the brakes so I want to be there. Does that put me in the tentative camp? or the probably, for sure camp?

Well. I’m gonna be tentative tonight. Things at work today got a little toasty for me and I imagine I’ll have a few extra beers in me tonight by race time.

I’m okay. No one got hurt. Fire department got to enjoy the outdoors at my request today. The customer was surprisingly not that mad about it. Luckily it was a replica... i'm a little shaky. My last 20 years around the shop and cars and race cars and race tracks... I’ve never had one burn all the way down before. Can’t say I wanted to mark that off my “weird stuff I’ve done with cars” list. But there it is!!! Stay safe everyone. And classic car guys maybe get an extra fire suppression system or atleast make sure you have a properly filled fire extinguisher within Easy access.

Wow. Glad to hear your ok -

not something i want to get used to happening... hehe

its funny how hard i had to convince myself "walk away...you cant fix this"

Its a funny thing when you're driving a car that's on fire. Your brain doesn't quite comprehend what's happening very quickly.

For me it was. "Hmmm how come I have no brakes?", "Gee...what's that orange glow coming from the hood duct?", Pulls over. "Where the hell is the hazard light switch in this car?" Sits on curb across the street from burning car and goes to light up a cigarette. "**** I left my lighter in the car"

Hahah the f-ing hazards. I did the same thing..... for me it was “man, I sure am smelling a lot of fuel , better head back to the sho***POP*** that wasn’t good let’s try to restart it, sure is warm with this convertible top down. Check rear view mirror, FIRE!!!!! Luckily I left it out of gear cause once it got real hot. The starter engaged again and was pumping more fuel into the engine bay most likely. Two nurse/orderly’s came out of the old folks home i happened to catch on fire In front of with fire extinguishers.... yeah it didn’t help but I couldn’t help but think “oh great coronavirus outbreak cause these guys had to break protocol to come help me” ughh. 2020 is something is Else.
