Gran Turismo 5 and Shift 2 have a lot of style over substance; they are both pretty boring games that try to attract you on looking pretty. Forza 4 has a ton of style, but didn't forget the gameplay. Fantastic career mode, multiplayer that actually works, and has a sizable community, and a ton of customization for your cars, plus the vinyl editor, still makes it the best racing sim in my opinion.

Damage models are quite good.
However, and this is on Xbox., the magnetic effect when two cara connect is disturbing.
It's like two dogs on heat and you need a bucket of water to separate the cars.
Really ruins it for me.

LOL, I have to agree with you on that one. PC does the same thing.

Shift 2 has amazing suspension physics and absolutely garbage tire physics. Plus vehicle stats are woefully inaccurate and inconsistent. But being able to change wheel offsets is one thing Forza is sorely missing that Shift 2 has.

To be honest, I'm finding FM4 to be a bit lacking in personality. The driving is great fun, no doubt about that, but the game feels too much like a sandbox, too open-ended without direction or purpose. It has a bunch of stuff and advantages over GT5 and NFS:S2, but it's really the same sort of "boring game."

If I didn't love driving so much I might be done with FM4 already. The physics and car selection are its saving grace. We need better tracks though.

Am I the only one who couldn't control the steering wheel in Shift 2? I tried every setting adjustment imaginable but the steering sensitivity was just too over-responsive. I had to give the game up because of it.

I'm with you on this, I have a GT2 and CSP's, couldn't get it to stop swaying back and forth...
