As much as i love GT7. We need a Rally

Since probably Dirt Rally 2.0 and then Generations. I have been very disappointed in the current generation of Rally games. Esp EA Sports WRC, as I assumed Codemasters would pull off the best one to date. Simply put, trash.
GT7, is by far my favorite tarmac simulator and really enjoyed the very few Rally events as they were better than anything else atm.
Anyone know if a Rally game is in the works with the quality one would expect in this day and age?
How about it...Give us a Gran Turismo Rally edition 🤔

Personally I really enjoy the Rally part of the game but we need too much work from Polyphony on this matter.

I would love to see:

• Mixed stages, tarmac and dirt/snow
• Point-to-point stages
• Co-pilot like we had in GT5
• Rainy circuits, with puddles and mud recreation (with the corresponding physics simulation)
• Championships with several stages around the world simulating the WRC.
• Greater representation of Rally cars, obviously.

Just to mention a few ideas. The GT7 base is not bad, but it needs a lot more work, it would be fantastic if they put more love into this aspect.

That said, in any case I see it for GT8.

There are plenty of dedicated rally games, I really hope GT8 don't focus more than GT7 on rally. And I would support they entirely ditch the rally part, if they use that time to address all the drawbacks of GT7.

You made some solid points, just to add GT7 has a rallycross track (catalunya) but we don't do tandem rallycross races, I remember playing that feature in a colin mcrae game and was excited so much that someone tried it in a game and it worked. It is the best form of racing as you crossover but are against the clock too to win and beat the time.

It would be such a coool online feature to pair up racers with a like WINNER stays on method possibly. This would strongly widen and broaden the gameplay aspect of Gran Turismo and it not be a Sport racing cliche. Improve the rally feature tenfold I feel. Obviously some rally cars wud be BOP'ped.

But it a lofty dream and PD may not be so creative.

But look at GT Sport. PD were indeed creative with the Northern Isle Time Trial. All they had to do was carry that over to GT7. Add more events of that nature and use the Catalunya circuit.

We have the drag racing missions. So PD sure can have a versus mode for rally cross. They're creative. Not sure what they're scared of.

You mean... adding Lake Louise and Catalunya Rallycross? There's something to be said about Eiger and GV Highway 1 as well, but that's kind of stretching it. I think GT has been lacking rally content compared to previous entries. GTS in particular was unforgiveable, having snow tires yet no actual snow circuits... not even Chamonix.

I feel rally is just as fundamental to Gran Turismo as road racing. It was, after all, one of my first experiences in the franchise...
