AssassinTuners HKS CT230R Tuner Shootout Release Tune.

No, i did use it to see what time i could do. I did a 51.2xx with SRF on. Without any aids i did a 53.8 i think. Ive tested my tune against 1 here and it didnt come close. Well i could only find 1 tune for the CTR. I might provide the tune again. When i posted the tune no one responded even after being begged to provide it.

If i remember correctly ( BETTER CHECK THAT LOL ) i wasnt that far off your time and you were using RS

Here's the thread you're looking for

You ran 53.840, the best I could muster up was a 54.1 on sport softs, but at the time was on mostly default suspension. Wonder if I could finally break into the 53's with the tune I made. Might test it out a bit later.

Also gunna check out this Eifel track you guys keep talking about?

Was wondering if one of the test drivers who has some time, and isn't concerned about checking the UCD every 5 races, would run a series of tests on the Supercar Eifel race.
Probably need at least 2 races per tune to familiarize with car and then set low times, in traffic, and on clean laps.

Interested in this as this is the track I tuned the car on.:)
I could test it there, but I don't think I have your tune, so I'll need that. Also, I can't do it in traffic, they'll be gone after the first lap I'm sure, that's what happened at SSR5.

Okay decided to join the tuner shootout for this car. Must say this isn't the sort of car I generally enjoy tuning and driving and this car reminded me why. Yes its fast, yes it has a lot of grip, and yes it doesn't like to turn!:yuck:

Dampers(ext); front 4, rear 5
Dampers(comp); front 3, rear 4
Anti-Roll Bars; front 4, rear 4

Brakes; front 7, rear 9

Here you go CSLACR! From my experience on the Supercar Eifel race I'd say it will take you 1 1/2 - 2 laps depending on the AI cars are. At my worst I was passing the R390 going through the 1st turn of the 3rd lap. So you should have 3 clean laps of no traffic at a minimum.

Until next time
Drive hard and have fun!:cheers::gtpflag:

Assassin needs to update the OP with links to all tunes.
No one is going to dig through all the pages to find them.
At the very least, hyperlink to my post, that already linked them all.

Oh I do already have it, lol

Grrr....thought I had fixed the name in the title...oh well FT-CT its still an onry 🤬 will say for best results you have to really push it, if you try to finesse it the 🤬 will try its best to kill you.

If you could pm me the links, I'm on my phone, if not I can do it when I get home and I'm in front of my computer.

On Sport Softs, I got down to a 53.800 exactly. Hit a 53.817 and a ton of .9's but never could hit a 6 or 7, even though I see 2 mistakes in my 53.800 ghost, I can't seem to put a whole lap together. I had to soften up my springs and up my final gear for Sport Softs.

Gunna head to the Eifel track now.
Assasin, Ill Pm them to you right now.

Because of the car, I do want to try it on Tsukuba, with that record and all...

Well... went and tried out this Eifel business...
I'm not a fan of the track, I don't like tracks that have a jump in the center of hairpins.

Took my tune for a ride, the first race was:
1:09.225
1:09.310
1:08.115
1:08.616
1:08.539
Flew off the track way too many times, lots of over entry slides.

2nd attempt:
1:09.306
1:08.171
1:07.663
1:06.551
1:06.028

This track made my tune feel like it lacks front grip, couldn't get it to carve very well.
I much prefer the Eifel track from the Civic Seasonal. That's a track I wouldn't mind having as a regular.

Get the right car and learn proper entry speeds and angles for the transition over the hill and through the left hander at the bottom is a blast. Wrong car or get your speed and/or entry wrong and your hating life. Same with that bloody hump at the end of the last turn onto the straight. My Corolla Levin tune makes them sweet rides as even with my poor driving skills I can put it into a mild fully controlled 4 wheel drift that leaves me lined up perfectly and maintains my speed, pure driving thrill when I nail it.

Right, I know it's a bit late and things have moved onto FF cars, but I found some time this morning to grind this car around the Eifel Supercar track.

Understand from the start, this is my own, unchanged car. Stock everything, on SS tyres.

This car, around this track is a bit of a mixed bag. PD have overdone some of the camber and as a result, on more than a few corners, even mild braking will result in the rear want to overtake the front. Finding that balance point was actually quite easy with this build. The problem is overcorrecting the snappy rear will increase the already large handful of understeer that this car comes with. If ever there was an example of slow in/fast out, this is it.

After 1 race, I was forced to start addressing the issue. Corner 2 and 10 (without conservative braking) result in the rear stepping out. It ploughs wide under power through 3, careful modulation of power will get you round though. At the crest of corner 5/6, the car ploughs past the apex, the fronts all light up. And you have to lift and dab through 8 and 9.

I've found this exact same issue with my build. You need to get rid of as much speed as you can before you get to the corner. If you miss your entry, you can forget about the rest of the corner, you won't be able to recover it. However, get your entry right and you can get on the power early and the car will pull you round sweetly. There's a fine line between missing and hitting your entry.

Whilst my build doesn't suffer with the rear trying to break loose whilst braking into a corner, this was easily remedied. I balanced the rear brakes with the front, 7 / 7. Immediately this mostly cured the problem. If I went in too hot into the aforementioned corners, the rear would still try to overtake the front, but nowhere near as often.

The only other thing I did was raise the front ride height by 10mm. This also helped tremendously with the braking, due to an extra bit of spring length I guess. It meant the fronts didn't lock going into the uphill of corners 5/6, and also helped cure the problem on corners 2 and 10.

The only thing I couldn't do much about was the gearbox. I don't have the high RPM turbo installed, so I had to make a best guess at the ratios. I don't think they're anywhere near as good as they could be (if anyone has a set of ration for an unaltered CT230R, I'll have em, ta).

Onto laptimes. As per my previous, with my car I twice managed to break into the 1:09s, but only just, and with some massive drafting of the AI cars. My usual times for a clear track are between 1:10.9 - 1:11.4.

Once I'd raised the nose a little and balanced the brakes, I was easily able to hit these times. In my 50 or so laps, I was only able to break into the 1:10s once, with a good draft off of 3rd & 4th on one lap and 1st & 2nd on the next lap. In order to hit the 1:09s, you need favourable traffic elsewhere on the track. Two massive drafts or one massive and two medium drafts will get you there. Worth mentioning as well that I had my fastest ever first lap with this build. Usually I'll hit a low 1:14 on the first lap. I hit a 1:13.071. Awesome with fricking laser beams.

Overall, I'd say this was a decent build. I think there's going to be inherent struggles with this car and this track. The track is probably the biggest problem. It's just odd, there's strange camber to some of the bends, and the transitions from one bend to another are awkward in places.

The only thing missing was a decent set of cogs. If I can get a good gearbox setup, then I think this car should be good for consistent 1:10s. This build with the larger turbo and a set of super sicks will probably be good for another 2-4 seconds (hell, maybe more than that with a decent enough driver behind the wheel).

I'm going to have a look at some of the other submissions and run them around the Eifel track as well. I appreciate most have been built for rather different tracks, but I'd like to see anyway. I think perhaps also, in slower time, I'll use an amalgamation of the builds published. I'm still unsure on how best to set up the torque split and diff. Front bias, rear bias or 50/50 ... I feel another amalgamation coming on...

Amuse GT1 Turbo, s'all I'm saying. Loves that corner for the exact same reasons. Going sideways through this corner and past the AI always makes me chuckle...
