I quit gaming around the ps2/3 era. With gran turismo being one of the last games played…came back when psvr2 dropped and picked back up with gt7.

..this is what I expected gt7 to be. This seems to be a genuine celebration of car cultures and driving. Its kinda making gt7 looked like one of those silly refreshes the tv folks crank out, like magnum or whatever.

Don’t get me wrong. I play gt7 practically daily. But thats entirely due to the psvr2 experience. Man its going to feel like forever for this to make it to consoles..

I'm looking forward to the livery editor. Gonna be funny seeing a car with a Cartoonime fluffy aqua cat livery driving in the traffic!

I hope the decal creation methods are going to be good!

Oh right, for the cars in AC Evo, can't they carry over the cars that are already made for AC Ultimate Edition (178) and perhaps Competizione too?
The Competizione ones maybe because actually some models of EVO such as the 911 992 GT3 Cup or the M2 CS Racing come from there, but the AC1 ones I highly doubt because of the huge jump in terms of polygons and details.

Edit: For EVO they actually had to scan the engine bay, rear doors and trunk (yes, there was an option for this in the Sim Racing Expo build lol)

There look to be another nsx in trailer i missed it the first an na2 nsx, it was in the studio so its unclear if it will be added, i would not mind both na1 and na2.

But it absolutly looks like cars will be remade specially the ones that was from ac1 because they are getting a bit old at this point,
But over time it could still grow to 200+ cars with dlc,

But even with 100 cars for 1.0 release dosent have to be bad, if every car has decent customize options witch they look to have,

This sounds like fun, fingers crossed.

I'm console-only for now so sadly never tried mods yet (I might try on my laptop if it can run them while we wait) if anyone can tell how AC rally stuff compares to other games like Dirt Rally 2.0 / EA WRC ? Or even KT's WRC9 the test ground open world area I liked, which got me thinking about it in EVO (currently waiting on an Xbox free play weekend for KT's new Test Drive to go offroad, PS5's is right now, but people not speaking too highly of their game overall, yet).

The potential for Nords in reverse as part of Rallye Köln Ahrweiler could be good in EVO too if they allow that.

It's pretty good overall given that it's totally mod driven, but would require quite a bit of time to get it running.

I would actually suggest going down the modded Richard Burns Rally if you have a reasonable laptop, it will run better than AC and the title (in all but graphics) blows DR2.0 and EA WRC away.

I know they confirmed VR in Evo, but any idea if this will be in early access or need to be ait for final release? Really hoping early access as I'm not sure I'll go back to flat screen gaming after VR in racing Sims.

Marco said it would be in the game "from day 0" along with triple monitor support, so VR would supposedly already be implemented in the first Early Access build.

This is great to hear. Guess I'll be joining early access in this case..

I wonder if we'll be able to drive all the cars from the start... I hope it doesn't happen like GT7 where Yamauchi is obsessed with us collecting all the cars... 🙄🙄😑

Car collecting will most likely be a thing in evo, if we go with what marco have said, even during early access launch ingame economy for buying cars will be available, i dont see that as bad thing, if they just keep it balanced, its was ome of new features for evo that really push my intrest for it,

Renting cars is also confirmed, we just dont know exactly how that will work, but if you dont buy the cars you will not be able to customize them. I guess the only thing you will be able to do is to change colors.

I will try to give them feedback so that they include an option to rent free cars in multiplayer races and quick races like in Forza, with that way they also satisfy people who like the sabdbox approach of the previous Assetto Corsa games.

I don't mind collecting cars as long the prices are not too extreme

Well, I'll leave you with a summary of what I remember of what they've been saying these days.

• The game will have an economy system like Gran Turismo or Forza, the game will start by giving you a few credits to choose your first car and then it leaves you to your own freedom to progress as you wish, if you don't want this route and you're just looking to try out any vehicle you can borrow them for free as if it were a rental system, in fact in competitive multiplayer this will be crucial because the cars will be limited with BOP and you can use any available car, speaking of multiplayer, The competitive multiplayer will be run by the company Simgrid, many people ask why there isn't LFM and it's because Simgrid can operate on consoles too and that's important, likewise Kunos has already confirmed that it will give tools for there to be more leagues on PC (like the previously mentioned LFM one) or for people to create their own servers like in AC1 and ACC.

• Kunos has confirmed that they are developing a procedural system for creating maps for free roam with data taken from LIDAR system that allows them to put hundreds of kilometers of real roads with supposedly traffic, about this they have mentioned Germany (the areas near Nords to be exact), France or Italy, I don't know if there are several maps (because they have said that the technology is to make several) or these 3 examples are 1 map with parts of the 3 countries, there will be more information very soon.

• They have mentioned that there will be customization of the avatar along with the team members in terms of skin, appearance and clothing among other things, as we already know some licenses are confirmed for this such as OMP for the suits and gloves and Bell for the helmets.

• They have also confirmed that road cars will have both visual and mechanical customization and both will affect the performance of the vehicle based on real data, all customization parts will be from real aftermarket brands that they are collaborating with and that they will reveal in the coming weeks along with examples of tuned cars in the game, they have also confirmed that they want to introduce a livery editor for the cars so that people can create their own liveries and share them with other players through the game (it is still in development and they are looking into how to do it right since it is something they are doing for the first time)

• If you go the route of renting cars like in Forza or Milestone Rides you will not be able to customize the cars or apply liveries.

• The game will have a fully dynamic day-night system with volumetric rain, clouds and fog and dynamic line on the asphalt based on real data for each map, very similar to that on Iracing, it can rain in parts of the circuit and not in others, they have been asked if they plan to include a weather radar to know the weather in real time and they have said that they will try to do so to give the player as much information as possible.

• They have been asked about gravel and snow but they have said that there are no plans at the moment (since the priority is asphalt and having the rain ready) however as for general Rally content (cars and asphalt stages probably) they have answered with a "Who knows?"

• Regarding cars, they have already said that although many European brands were seen in the trailer and so on, there will be much more American and Asian content (they have said that there will be more car brands from Japan than in AC1), both in terms of cars and circuits (Fuji Speedway has been confirmed)

• Regarding racing cars, they have already confirmed that there will be everything, from classic touring cars (like the already seen classic Guilia Sprint GTA that is based on the one Marco has in real life) to F1 cars.

• Regarding mods, the SDK/Platform for these will not be released until the game leaves the EA period, Kunos will try to control it as best as possible by helping modders so that they can use the real licenses of the brands of both tracks and cars, what Kunos wants to avoid is people ripping content from other games for their own or vice versa and reward people who do everything from scratch to the point of including them in the base game if they are very good.

• The first Early Access build will have 20 cars and 5 tracks (I suspect these tracks are Brands Hatch, Fuji, the full Nurburgring course with Nords, Mount Panorama and Imola, which are the ones shown so far)

• The game will support triple monitor and VR from the first day of Early Access, it will also support DLSS and FSR and other technologies and features that will be revealed very soon.

• The SimRacing Expo rigs ranged from an RTX 4090 to a 4060 and the game ran well on all of them.

• There will be Drift and in fact there will even be a playground for drifting and test our cars.

• Regarding the console versions, they have said that they will exist and will be released after the release of the 1.0 Release PC version, just like what happened with AC1 and ACC.
All needed after this list is something extremely easy to implement & extremely much more fun to play with; that all rules/parameters in single player events must be optional. If true, I promise to buy the game even if I have to buy a new PC.

My guess is this : Rent cars=AC1 offline/online. Buy cars = GT style

Watching Marco's latest video, I noticed a couple of things that caught my attention. In the first picture, you can see what appears to be Turn 1 of Watkins Glen, and in the second picture, there are 22 brands visible, even though only 20 cars were announced for EA launch. Do you think this could be something related to the EA launch that they wanted to keep under wraps, or perhaps future content? (I think it's going to be future content.)

Future content for sure, I think that in the Overtake interview they confirmed that the Lancia Delta would not be on the initial list of the 20 cars but for a later update.

Plus, we know at least 2 Alfa Romeo's will be part of it don't we, so it's not neccessarily one car per manufacturer when the early access starts. It'll likely be fewer manufacturers than we've seen so far with some new ones added over time.

As for the cars, the video doesn’t specifically name any vehicles in particular, but several are shown and KS co-founder Marco Massarutto states that there’ll be 20 vehicles from a range of brands, car classes, and performance levels.

Curiously there’s 22 marques shown in the game’s “dealership” section, and we’ve already had two cars confirmed for one brand — the Alfa Romeo Guilia GTAM and the Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce Electric — along with a third featuring prominently in teasers, so we’re going to assume some of the listed marques won’t make the cut for the very first version.

The video features a total of 22 different vehicles, from 17 of the brands shown, so as of yet we’re still not wholly sure what vehicles will be available in the day one Early Access launch. Again, the plan for 100 cars at the v1.0 launch was also reaffirmed.
:D
