Well...by surprise i found an UDP app working with Assetto Corsa on the PlayStation 4 even knowing that Kunos didn't officially offered compatibility.
The app is named "RevCounter-aCorsa dashboard" and is available for Android phones or tablets.

It a really simple one, only offering RMP bar, gear, TC,ABS,speed, actual lap and best lap times.

To make the app working it's quite easy.. Once you open the app it will ask your IP address.
Here you put your PS4 IP address and click on "update"
You open Assetto Corsa and once you are on the track in box yo hit the "open dashboard" button on the app...
Do an full acceleration in neutral gear so the app detect the game.

Enjoy!

Once you exit the event /hotlap / race.. The connection stops..and once you entered other event you only have to hit again the "enter dashboard" on the app to make it work again.

Here i let the link to the app on Google play store.(BTW.. It's free)

I tried this app and it works well, the fast dash app tgough I couldn't get it to work, anyone tried it and was successful?

Slight delay in replying as I've been away all weekend at family.

I managed to gold the R event at Barcelona after reading some posts on the AC forums on settings (quite comfortably in the end)... changing damper rates and using medium tyres. But the car still requires a very careful approach to stop the rear tyres overheating - ie; no sliding the car at all!

For 2 similar cars on paper, the R and GT3 behave very differently... where the R requires precision, you can literally drive the wheels off the GT3, pushing it or backing it in to corners, and drifting it on exits... it really is a wonderful thing... at this moment, it's by far my favorite modern racing car in the game.

Quoting myself here as I've changed my mind on the 991GT3R :)

Previously, I'd driven it in the Special Event hotlap at Barcelona, where I really struggled to trust it.

Last night I ran the Special Event quick race at Spa and the R felt like a different car... I started with AI on hard, and a conservative (ie; understeery) tune, initially driving very carefully - the car felt much more stable. As I ran more laps, and increased the pace, the car continued to feel lovely. Blitzed the AI on hard, so exited, switched to Alien, took a chunk of understeer out of the tune and won 1st attempt by c.10s.

Still not as much fun as the Cup car, but much better than my initial impression.

Went ahead and bought the season pass today. Was going to wait for a sale but just deicided to go for it since all the DLC for it is out by now. Had a quick go in some of the racing Porsche's this morning and the few I drove felt amazing to drive, although the GT3-R did feel more tailhappy than most of the other GT3 cars I'd driven. Can't wait to get to driving the cars from the other packs.

@Stotty - I'm with you. The 911 GT3 Cup 2017 is preferable to me as well. Now, maybe it's just because I'm not all that great with setting up race cars, but the Cup feels more stable than the GT3 R and therefore easier for me to run consistent laps. Considering how much can be adjusted on the GT3 R compared to the Cup car, you'd think it would be possible to make the GT3 R more stable & enjoyable. Maybe I just haven't tried the right settings yet. Although, I have to admit I don't know anything about the cars in real life. Perhaps they're using different springs & dampers - so if there are major chassis differences, then I guess I shouldn't be surprised at all.

For me, the Cup car is just more fun...

To be fast in the R I need to be consistent, hitting the brake points and apexs lap after lap to avoid over steering (ie; applying too much lock) or catching any of the higher kerbs - both of which really unsettle the rear of the car. If I get the R sliding at the back, it can be a snappy SOB (might be able to tune this out in time). You can't over drive it.

If you want to know the RL differences this page has specs for the Cup, R and RSR...

http://www.car-revs-daily.com/2015/05/16/2015-porsche-911-gt3r-vs-gt3-cup-vs-gt3-rsr/

Broadly, the R has... different engine (more power), different gearbox (dogbox in the R), ABS, traction control, much wider front tyres (2"), better quality and more adjustable suspension & more downforce.

Thanks for that link, Stotty! 👍

I'm not as good of a driver as you, so I have a tough time of being consistent over the course of...I don't know...let's say 10-15 laps on one stint on the track (Nurburgring Sprint-GT layout). My times are going to be all over the place most likely. That would 100% be true in a car like the 911 GT3 R. In the Cup car I'd have considerably better odds at keeping my lap times close.

As you state, the GT3 R can be extremely snappy, so I end up running a fair amount of traction control usually. It slows me down a bit, but spinning out slows me down more. :embarrassed: About a week or two ago someone was in here talking about the bumpiness of the GT3 R when flying through the final chicane on Nurburgring Sprint-GT layout. I never really gave a lot of thought to it, but I ran both the R & Cup repeatedly through that chicane and he was right...the GT3 R is very unsettled, compared to the Cup car, when you clip the curb on exit. I was able to make some adjustments to reduce it quite a bit, but I don't think they would be changes you'd want to actually race with.

It's going to be interesting to see how the GT3 RSR drives considering the new position of the engine.

It's going to be interesting to see how the GT3 RSR drives considering the new position of the engine.

I ran the Spa race without traction control last night (on mediums) and thought the car had plenty of traction... it's only when I ran a bit wide on the way in to a corner, had to wind on a bit of extra lock to make the apex, and then picked up the throttle too early that I got any oversteer... but once the rear starts sliding it does snap back viciously... there's no riding the slide out with the R for me

Suggest you try a conservative set up - I was initially running front wing at 1, max rear wing, with ARBs at 7f 2r, plus a couple of clicks lower bump (both settings), 10mm extra height (f&r), and 10mm extra travel (f&r). Like this, the car was very stable overall, but a bit understeery... you really needed to trail brake it to get the front in to a corner.

Once I got confident, I took some wing off the back and some ARB off the front, and I took 5mm off the travel and height (left the dampers as is)... was only a quick adjustment, but the car rotated better without ever feeling unstable on the brakes.

It still doesn't like kerbs though

Be sure to give the Masers 250F a run out on the ring, both of them are very different. The Porsches are great, still would have been nice to have a 911 from the 80s and 90s too.

Glad there are two for the iPad. Fast Dash by Danny Aad which is free and AC Dashboard by Alessandro Cocco for £2.99 which looks a little interesting.

I think this is the one from Alessandro.

Need to design placement holders for this. Currently building the steering column.

Nice. I've seen Fast Dash but it has a perpetual ad on the screen which is a deal breaker for me. I don't think I've seen AC Dashboard before but I like the looks of it, will definitely check that one out. 👍

Excuse my ignorance, but what's the benefit of it?! I can already see all those in the game already!

As others said, to get the clutter off your screen. I have an iPhone6 with an app showing my gears, speed, RPM, shift lights, and an Android tablet running an app that shows tire temps, lap times, lap delta, fuel, lap count, and position, so my monitors are almost free of clutter which is how I like it. Maybe not everyone would care about having a clutter free screen but some of us do and the dash apps are a great way to reduce clutter. You can see my setup here.

I see dashpi for iOS works for Pcars on PS4. It actually looks pretty good. Anyone have the nards to pay the $4 and see if it works on AC?

I use DashPi on my iPhone for AC on PC so it has the ability to work with AC, not sure if it will work on PS4 though because on PC it requires a connector app. But it's worth a try if someone wants to shell out the four bucks. I think AC Dashboard would be your best bet though since it doesn't require a connector app.

Yeah I get that but I dunno how useful it can be!
I'm not saying it's not useful, but rather, since I never tried it, I dunno how useful it is!
I mean it's nice to declutter the screen, but the fact that all those important info are congested in one small area away from the main screen is by itself problematic in my opinion! That is because I will have to completely shift my eyes off the main screen to see those info!
I may be wrong though!

The important thing is that it's now starting to get available for us PS4 guys, so it's good news for all those wanting it! 👍

EDIT: AMAZING SETUP BTW! :sly: I cry when i see such amazing stuff! I get emotional! I wish I had the space to do that too! 👍

Personally I find it very useful. Having a clutter free screen not only adds to the immersion but also means I have a clearer view of what's going on. Also, when you have all that stuff on the screen you're tempted to look at it more which creates distractions, by having it off screen I only look at it when I need to. Plus, what do you really need to be looking at regularly anyway? I check the lap count and my position maybe every other lap, I check my lap time deltas during practice/qualifying but during a race delta and lap times aren't really needed. I have tire info on the tablet but rarely look at it.

Yeah, the iPhone screen is a bit small but all I really need to see from it is my gear and shift lights which are plenty easy to see. The tablet off to the side is bigger than it looks in the photos/video and it's very easy to read, and by now my eyes know exactly where to look for what I need so a quick glance is all it takes, my eyes are off the monitors for maybe one second at the most. Of course for me the biggest benefit is having the iPhone positioned just where it would be in a real car so I glance through the wheel to see that info just like I would in real life, and basically all I see on my monitors is what I would see through the windscreen of a real car and all of that really adds to the immersion factor and makes me feel more like I'm really in a car instead of playing a game at a computer desk. Just my opinions but I'd guess once you tried it you'd like it. :)

I can understand the fans if one is in a hot climate. Though, I thought Americans had air conditioning as standard over there unlike us. Here you only have air conditioning part of the house if you're rich. Everybody else has portable units or fan stands.

I have two small USB fans hooked up to a USB hub that has switches so I can quickly turn them on if things get a bit warm. I have central air conditioning but I try to keep it at a sensible level (not too cold). When racing I can work up a bit of a sweat and that slight breeze cools me down nicely. Also, the vent for my racing room is right under my left monitor table and right now when the heat kicks on it basically blows right on me and makes me quite warm so the fans kinda deflect some of that hot air as well as cool me off. I just added the fans when I rebuilt my rig last month and I'm quite happy with them, they're not super strong but enough to add a touch of cooling and if one isn't cooling enough I can turn the other one on too and get cool breeze from the left and the right. :)

Well since i posted here and on the Assetto Corsa support forum that there was an UDP app working on Assetto Corsa PS4, lot of people are happy.
One of them mailed to the dev that maked the pCars dash and RS Dash asking if they newed about it and if they will update RS dash to get it working with Assetto Corsa on consoles.
That is the reply he received from the dev.

Screenshot_2017-02-24-09-11-53.jpg

Let's hope that Kunos see the interest from the console versions users and make UDP compatibility oficial and also helps the devs that makes applications giving the information they need.

Quick look at the RevCounter app.

Hey Scaff, I watched the video and the sync of the app seemed way off in the end .. was that actually how it was working or was that just a video sync issue?

I did a basic test with it the other day just using a controller and having my phone on my lap.. I saw some weird blips where the RPM would jump out of no where so it seems AC UDP data is far from perfect on ps4.

It's an issue with slight difference between the frame rate on my capture app I use on my phone and the frame rate on my elegato. 59.4 vs. 60.

I tried AC Dashboard on my iPhone the other night but I couldn't get the rev lights to work, and there aren't really any options that would influence it. :indiff:
