And the 1.14 update for Xbox One is once again refused by Microsoft...
(thats the 4th time??)
I didnt really believe their "end of the week" talk anyway. I also dont believe that MS is suddenly sabotaging a niche title like this. So only Kunos can be blamed here. PS4 owners should expect "ready to race" in August due to this.

I don't say that Microsoft is culprit..
Sure it's kunos fault that don't make the update in conditions.
Xbox One users have also still problems with saving setups since day one and worse performance than the PS4 version.

I don't expect 1.15 and ready to race dlc before end September as early.

Seriously? I dare to say no later than some point in August, but even that would be really late in my book. The Porsche DLCs more or less arrived with monthly intervals, and they were still developing major aspects of the the console version back then. Well, they still are on Xbox One until it gets version 1.14. Surely they "should be" faster now that the gap between all platforms is closing more and more.

Yup, seriously i don't expect the 1.15 update before September...
Hopefully i am wrong, but if they have to submit again the Xbox One update, and wait the approval between a week or 2... It will be launched end June or beginning July.. And then start the next update with custom button mapping, new AI an IU settings, fix the online issues, bugs and add more options.. Hopefully the false starts feature from 1.07 PC update, the physics updates from 1.14, and 1.14.1, 1.14.2 and 1.14.3....fix the dor bug from the G29...add special events missing from the 1.13 PC version and 1.14 PC version.. Lets hope that they also fix the sounds and add again the reverbs...
And add the dlc content.
And hopefully an performance update.

The gap is still quite huge between the Pc version and console version... I don't think that console will ever get on par with PC version

Microsoft is doing their job.. they set standards and tests that you must pass. I used to run WHQL tests for a printer company to get the drivers certified.. they don't mess around.

Now.. I do believe it has to do with security and stability in their OS vs others (lacking of).. but at least they are trying to protect their system and users.

We PS4 users can enjoy blue screens once a while with Asstto Corsa because Sony's PS4 can take it without breaking up (or nearly), Xbox probably will get bigger problems from Kunos specialities.
If your aren't having blue screen once a week with Kunos product then there's problem with their update quality standard. It should jam your console just to say how simulator it is, nothing is perfect.. ;)

Did Kunos actually state that they will be halting all Playstation 4 updates until the XBox port is caught up to the PS4? I wouldn't be surprised if the PS4 continues to receive updates independent of the XBox One...kind of like how the PC is continuing on it's upgrade path. I have no proof to back up that opinion, but it's something I've thought about recently.

Since the beginning they've made the update for both consoles, send it, and once released they went to the next one.
The 1.14 update is not the first one that was refused by Microsoft.
And they waited until both consoles where on same version to move on.

So i really don't think that they will move on with the PS4 support until xbox has the game on the same version..

If the box users are already mad...what should happen if they launch 1.15 update and dlc way before on the box and already knowing the difference between console and PC...

Another thing I don't get is how they haven't brought hot fixes to PS4 after version 1.14. The temperature bug in the lobbies doesn't seem to be a server issue and I can't see my self going online until it's fixed. They released quick hot fix patches on PS4 after some of the big updates in recent months, even before Xbox One was in sync I think.

Well thinking... I just remind one "hot fix" for PS4.. With DoR bug (and still not fixed in case of G29)
And one "hot fix" even before but on Xbox to try stabilise the fps performance..

Yes,track temperature only, tyre wear degration at 200% that doesn't work, brands Hatch that freeze the PS4 when selected online... Drift track, turistshleife that cannot be selected online...
Broken button layouts on the new Fanatec CSL elite racing wheel....
No closed Setup setting in online.
And some default camera setting that are bugged when you enter on track.. (at least can be fixed thanks to camera settings)

The update brought quite more new issues and bugs than fixes... That is sure...
Lets see what they fix in the 1.15 update in a near future..

No, Kunos haven't stated anything of the sort. It's pure invention based on assumption. That doesn't mean it can't be true though, However this surely depends on how they delegate their console team right? I believe they have a staff of four for the console port, 2 for the PS4, and 2 for the X1. If that's the case then why would they hold up the PS4 update?

Well, that was kind of my thinking... If they're having trouble getting Microsoft to sign off on the next update, why punish PS4 players? As we all know they didn't do that to us PC players...hold off on updates until consoles were caught up to PC. Now, maybe I'm wrong and Kunos WILL put the brakes on future PS4 updates, but I see no reason why they should. XBox owners are already pissed because they've been waiting on this update forever, right? Well, then why would they want to intentionally piss off PS4 users by holding them back? Now you have two groups pissed off (Xbox & PS4) instead of just one group pissed off (XBox). That was just my line of reasoning.

No one pissed to kunos if they just hide facts and don't tell people what's real situation, only letting people to be angry on Microsoft behaviour of not letting buggy update go thru. ;)

I know many will disagree but as soon as PCars 2 arrives, Assetto Corsa will be irrelevant. Im feeling very sorry for the guys playing on Xbox. Kunos let them down, they are working quite unprofessional. You can miss an update once, sure, but things went out of control lately. Sad!

Impossible to make that statement as a fact. So far Pcars2 pre release looks exactly like Pcars1 pre release, I.e the best thing since sliced bread, the SIM to end all Sims. I'm sure it Wil be a great game only time will tell how it holds up physics wise and how all the fancy bits like livetrack affect the game.

Also not sure how they're working unprofessional? Frankly that's nonsense. If they get don't get authorized by MS then it is what it is. Unprofessional would be saying they're working on it when they're actually out partying every night instead.

I can't think of any other developer who is constantly running into these kind of troubles. Over and over again. I don't think they are partying at Vallelunga all night. But i'm afraid there are only 2 or 3 guys working at the console update... at a snails pace.

This is a matter of inefficiency. Unprofessionalism is more evident when Kunos staff gets into arguments over at the Race Department forum.

Are there many other developers who started out with a PC only game and then tried to port it to consoles a couple years after release? I only pay attention to racing games so I have no idea if this is very common but I've been under the impression it's not common and usually works the other way around (console is the priority, then port to PC). This is very apparent in games like Dirt Rally, F1 201x, and even Pcars1, the menus were clearly intended to be navigated with a controller instead of a mouse which suggests console functionality was the priority and they added just enough PC functionality to suffice. I've been looking around today to see if there's a trend of XBox One games encountering more rejected game updates than PS4 but so far I've been unable to find any kind of information on this so I can't say if it's a trend amongst XBone games in general or if the problems Kunos is having are a rarity. I have read several comments saying that the MS approval process is stricter than the Sony process but no links were provided to corroborate those comments so I can't say for sure.

To be clear, I'm not defending anyone here, I'm genuinely curious if there have been other developers who have taken this road and what their success rate was, and if there's a trend among all XBone games of updates getting rejected more frequently than PS4 updates. Definitely sucks for XBone users and has reinforced a decision I made years ago to never, ever buy a MS console.

Maybe I'm ignorant for suggesting this, but is it possible that version 1.14 on Xbox One could end up releasing with the RTR DLC? It's hard to imagine that they don't make progress in between every resubmission. Halting everything console related because of one platform-specific problem seems odd, yes.

Don't know personally, but considering it isn't the actual core of the Kunos team I wonder how much experience the guys doing the Porting have? I'm willing to bet on one thing though, no one is more frustrated or annoyed than the guys who have been coding this update.

Not ignorant at all, I suppose while the update was in submission they must have been working on something.

As @lancia delta hf said, that's definitely not being ignorant. On the contrary. Unfortunately, I don't have the answer for you...but my Spidey sense tells me that the console coders continue coding once an update has been signed off on by the Kunos team. If it then gets rejected by Microsoft, like in this case, they'll have to tidy up or change whatever they need to, but they're definitely not sitting by idly waiting for their recently submitted update to be installed on consumers XBones before continuing development.

I would be so pissed if I were an XBox One user.

Assuming Project Cars 2 make improvements to the physics - and hands on reports certainly seem to indicate so - I tend to agree with you.
The only reason why Assetto Corsa is the sim racer I spend most time with on the PS4 is because the cars are (mostly) just a joy to drive, significantly more so than in Project Cars (using a Thrustmaster T150 with both games). I'd also pick Assetto Corsa as the winner on engine sounds, which matters a lot to me as well.
AI racing with large fields, weather, night racing, lighting atmosphere and general visuals, Project Cars wins hands down. So if Project Cars 2 is indeed improved where it matters then I will probably have a hard time seeing the need to load up Assetto Corsa even for hotlapping, unless they significantly expand upon the current bare bones game. And at the current rate for updates that's looking like a very long term project.

If Project Cars 2 is not a sufficient upgrade in terms of physics and general driving pleasure, then I guess I'll still be stuck with one mildly unsatisfying racing sim and one hotlapping sim that's lack in most other areas. I'm not ready to put any faith into GT Sports just yet as a third competitor, though I'm sure I'll probably end up buying it.

Hopefully, PS4 users will be pleasantly surprised with their next update. Stefano spent a lot of time working on improving the AI and the vast majority of people have been very impressed. There are still glitches here and there, but the AI drivers are a lot smarter now, it seems to me. Plus, there are a couple of new adjustable settings to tweak the behavior of the AI to your liking.

I've not run any races in Project Cars, so I can't compare the most recent PC build of AC to Project Cars, as far as AI racing is concerned. I hope the console users are greatly satisfied with the AI improvements once they finally reach you. :boggled:

Can you believe I still haven't tried the new AI?

I will at some point, I'm just kind of at a slow-down in sim activity at the moment.
Well, you've always been more of an Online Racer, which is the real reason to play these silly racing sims. :D Hey, have you felt any differences with your baby? I'm talking about the Alfa Romeo GTA, of course! :) I haven't driven it yet since the upgrade, but the Maserati 250F's are 10 times easier to control now that Aristotelis figured out a way to simulate those rear axles.

Haven't driven it yet, we've been racing the Escort lately.

Got a question for XBone users, is it possible to use the TH8 shifter with a Thrustmaster wheel? My bosses son has, I believe, the 458 Italia wheel and can't figure out how to get the shifter to work.
