Looking forward to this masterpiece. Hopefully this will put some pressure on GT7 so that they can start adding more meaningful content and learn from the community.
From years upon years of observation of what PD do, they don't care about what other studios are doing and even less so, learning from their community.
snc
From what it looks game needs like around 2 more years to be in proper quality/content state
Probably around a year or so just like the roadmap states? 😃 That's what this is. That's what we're doing here. We're early accessing something that isn't done. Looking forward to the updates though.

I have not played ACC and I briefly played the original when it was on Game Pass, ages ago, but based on what I've seen/read on the game, I jumped blindly, seeing that the price was quite reasonable and that I could refund it if I disliked it within the 2-hour Steam window. But after what I've played so far... I'm very eager to stick with it.

Just watched

This looks like it could be a real competitor to GT7. I did notice a lot of pop in/out in the video (which apparently is in the release notes) and he's running a super powerful card but it'll be interesting so see how this matures. By the time I complete GT7 I may be ready to switch...

That's good to hear. It sounds like you have a head on your shoulders unlike some of these others with torches and pitchforks.
These people out here are nuts. I will admit, I've had graphical issues, a couple stutters. I selected Gooner Seca and they put me on Glands Snatch instead but I'm not worried. They'll keep working on it. Now if it was a year from now and these issues were still around, I'd be complaining.
In a game/sim environment where the level of detail and physics and just plain development are ridiculously time consuming, something needs to fund their effort for a small dev team like Kunos. I have no problem helping them out early on.

Anyone else where game won’t launch? See a blurry empty garage and goes back to windows.
Check your antivirus isn't the issue, I got a warning and had to white list it to get around the same issue.

no, doesn't work :(

Removed complete antivirus, stil does not start. I did switch on the " skip intro" when i was able to play the game? Maybe that triggered something? Removed whole game and reinstalled, still no luck

I'm not seeing any pop in/out. I wonder if a lot of people haven't set all the graphics settings to max - there's a lot of them and it takes a bit of time to set them all to the max value. It's amazing to me that people in stream chats are forming negative opinions of the graphics based on low bitrate video footage with unknown quality settings.

I noticed it mostly in the mirrors but it could also be jumpy editing in the video - though I saw some commentators note it as well.

Well, my i9-13900k has been getting less and less stable for the past few months, and the crashing finally became intolerable. Decided to switch to team red and get an AMD CPU. The downside being that I had to replace my motherboard, and my old cooler doesn't have an adapter available for the AM5 socket.

So I picked up a bundle from Microcenter today: Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Asus B650-A, and some matching G.Skill ram to bring the total to 64GB since it was part of the bundle. And since I had to replace the cooler I got a NZXT Kraken because I kinda wanted to dial back the RGB anyway.

Somehow this all comes together to look suspiciously like a microwave from the side.

EDIT: I mean I pulled the trigger on the fix to be ready for AC: Evo, so it's still relevant. But man I gotta double check what thread I'm on before posting. Upside is it runs the game beautifully.

I've maxed the settings out now, but my recollection is the mirrors defaulted to very low quality settings, so maybe they hadn't increased them? I just did some laps and looked at the wing mirror and couldn't see any pop-in. The rear view mirror in the Porsche GT3 Cup seems to be bugged and shows the car's interior, so I can't comment on pop-in for that.
I agree with the ACC sentiments, but the ACE difference could definitely be due to different types of cars. I have a feeling that GT3 machines will still feel somewhat sterile and on-rails in ACE...
I just did quite a few laps with the Porsche GT3 Cup, and maybe it was because I only had TC set to 1, but it felt massively more nuanced than ACC. I'd set TC higher, but the keyboard mapping to increase TC didn't seem to be working properly.

I can't decide if I want to get in on this early access program or not. I don't know how good it'll work on my computer right now. However I really want to know what the game feels like on a controller and potentially be able to help out with the development to refine it. As a player of GT7, Forza Horizon 5 and ACC, I know what the game needs to be both fun and realistic.

Well, I'm very pleased with my first day as an Assetto noob. I'm past the two-hour refund limit and it's safe to say I'm here for the long run.

I placed second in a night race at Imola with the Alfa Giulia. I've set the AI drivers to 80% because at 90% they were too much for me. I also had a crash, but it didn't repeat the next time I launched the game.

The main thing for me is that the control preset is quite welcoming for anyone with experience in other driving games, so my Forza habits have been translating well.

That seems to be state of game development these days. I'm finally enjoying AMS2 at v1.6... not v1.0. Tyres v10 were added to AC well after 1.0 release. Plenty of other games that needed ongoing development after "1.0 full" release.
The thing people forget, is that this constant development after v1.0 is a good thing. Not only are games infinitely more vast and complex these days, but also back in the days before this you bought a game and were forever stuck with the bugs of the game.

Well, I gave it a crack running RTX 3060 and 32GB RAM and couldn't even run it on lowest graphics settings. CPU was fine, memory marginal, but GPU was maxing out at about 30-40 fps.

Oh well, will claim the refund from Steam and wait a couple of years for the console release 😥

I've actually been thinking of giving iRacing a crack because the GT7 online experience is leaving me wanting - hopefully the dated graphics engine runs a bit better on my laptop!

Played some yesterday. The Driving feels good. Sounds for the most part great. Graphics proably the closed we can get to gt7 and things like fh5.

But i think i wait until driving academy and game economy has been resolved until i give it another go

Just the single player with the Fiat.

Some fast impressions from few laps with the Fiat on Bathurst.

  • Sounds nice
  • controls on controller feels good (with this car)
  • graphics, okay i gues not blown away for now car models seems good overal a bid stale or something..... Motorsport seems allot nicer overall for example
  • performance seems okay but some stutters here and there on 4k native alle max around 90fps but not that smooth.... But thats alone on track sooooo..... So not that great for now

Rtx 4080 Super / 7800x3d / 32gb ram 6000 mhz cl30

So first impressions are not bad..... But need to play a bid more. But its a beta for shure ;)

Ac evo absolutly have better car models than forza motorsport. Its not quite gt7 level but absolutly more detail than in fm.

I'll probably make this into a separate thread, but for now here's what I've worked out as "optimized" settings.

MSAA - 4x
Filmic AA - Cinematic
FXAA - Enabled

AF - Ultra
Texture Pool Size - Ultra (I can't test this as well as I'd like because the game appears to use (or at least reserve) a lot of video memory regardless, however, if you have an 8GB card I'd recommend going no higher than "Medium" here at the moment.

Level of Detail - Ultra
Experimental Static Level of Detail - Off (I can't discern what it changes yet so I'll leave it off until I can pinpoint it)
Static Level of Detail - Greyed out for reasons above
Vehicle Level of Detail - Ultra

Global Illumination Update Frequency - Ultra
Ambient Occlusion - Medium (No discernable/obvious changes) on any setting higher
Volumetrics - High (Placeholder setting, can't seem to find a reliable way to test)
Environment Reflection - Ultra
Car Reflection - High (There's a perceptible difference in reflection clarity and resolution when going up to "Ultra", however, there's also a perceptible performance drop

Shadows - Ultra
Experimental Sim Shadows - Off (For similar reasons to Exp. SLOD)
Sim Shadows - Greyed out because disabled
Screen Space Shadows - Full Resolution

Grass Density - Low (There's absolutely no difference in anything higher than this, I reckon this isn't working as it should)
Clouds Quality - Low (There is an ever-so-slightly apparent difference in the higher settings but you'd have to zoom in to see them, so leave this on low and you'll never notice anything. Alternatively, leave it on "Ultra" for the very same reason as it doesn't incur a performance cost)

Post Processing Presets - Personal Preference

Motion Blur - Personal Preference

Mirrors Mode - Multi (This is another personal preference setting, if I'm being honest)
Mirrors Resolution - Medium (As the game is right now, there's no need for anything higher outside of eye candy; once MP rolls around you can safely set max this out)
Mirrors View Distance - (Haven't tested this with a full grid but it's literally just Render Distance through the sideview mirrors)
Optimized Rendering - On (You like performance, right? Of course you do, that's why you're reading this)
Mirrors Capture Mode - Dynamic (Another personal preference setting)

I'll come back to this again once I've finalized everything but this is what I have at the moment. For reference, I'm running with a 5800X with PBO enabled, 16GB DDR4 and a 6900XT
