Many people (including me) can't launch the game. The recommendations that are given to solve the problem are puzzling - "update all software on your computer", "update the BIOS", "disable the antivirus"... All this is some kind of nonsense, too many requirements for the sake of the game, and it doesn't work, judging by the reviews. Has anyone found adequate solutions to the launch problem?

This is from official discord:
## Potential Workarounds ##

### Game not launching ###

A few things you can try for this.

1. Close Steam, go to your documents folder and delete the ACE folder, then launch Steam and then launch Assetto Corsa EVO.

(You may need to disable OneDrive if you have it enabled whilst you carry out the test)

2. Repair Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable x64 & x86 versions via the official installer, and then reboot. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/c...svc-170#visual-studio-2015-2017-2019-and-2022

3. Check that the AssettoCorsaEVO application in the Steam Apps directory is whitelisted on your firewalls and antivirus applications.

4. Open Controlled Folder Access through file manager or through a windows search. It should be under the Virus & threat protection section of Windows Defender. Click on the section that says “Allow an app through Controlled Folder Access” you then have to press “Add an allowed app” after pressing this choose the “Recently blocked apps” option and find ACE (Asseto Corsa EVO) it should be under that name or something similar.

None of this works. It will only help those who have software problems. : (
Hey, often, when I come across issues with a game, I just try to run it as an "Administrator". That can sometimes bypass a lot of the issues that may pop up.

Have you tried that?

All this is some kind of nonsense
It is not though, because how well a game runs depends on how well its code is made, and if things are not tested well it can lead to fail.
So to lessen the burden all of this testing, they simply say "update your system" to remove lots of the variables the devs cant replicate with their own hardware.

What is not said is to have a look in the log files, because ideally they would provide information of why the game does not start.
And just because I thought about this, searching reveals a strange error with a log file of hundres of gb size:

Maybe the game doesnt start because it takes too long opening a .txt of a size that it should never reach.
Then also try what the people on steam did: delete, reinstall.
"I had to delete all the contents of the documents\ace folder, remove the game and install it again. "

"I had to delete all the contents of the documents\ace folder, remove the game and install it again. "
I deleted and reinstalled the game, deleted the ACE folder - none of this helps. I followed all the recommendations that are given on the Internet, except for the absurd ones, like "update the BIOS", "reinstall Windows" - this is too much :)
