Assetto Corsa EVO not started

Many people (including me) can't launch the game. The recommendations that are given to solve the problem are puzzling - "update all software on your computer", "update the BIOS", "disable the antivirus"... All this is some kind of nonsense, too many requirements for the sake of the game, and it doesn't work, judging by the reviews. Has anyone found adequate solutions to the launch problem?

This is from official discord:
## Potential Workarounds ##

### Game not launching ###

A few things you can try for this.

1. Close Steam, go to your documents folder and delete the ACE folder, then launch Steam and then launch Assetto Corsa EVO.

(You may need to disable OneDrive if you have it enabled whilst you carry out the test)

2. Repair Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable x64 & x86 versions via the official installer, and then reboot. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/c...svc-170#visual-studio-2015-2017-2019-and-2022

3. Check that the AssettoCorsaEVO application in the Steam Apps directory is whitelisted on your firewalls and antivirus applications.

4. Open Controlled Folder Access through file manager or through a windows search. It should be under the Virus & threat protection section of Windows Defender. Click on the section that says “Allow an app through Controlled Folder Access” you then have to press “Add an allowed app” after pressing this choose the “Recently blocked apps” option and find ACE (Asseto Corsa EVO) it should be under that name or something similar.

None of this works. It will only help those who have software problems. : (
Hey, often, when I come across issues with a game, I just try to run it as an "Administrator". That can sometimes bypass a lot of the issues that may pop up.

Have you tried that?

All this is some kind of nonsense
It is not though, because how well a game runs depends on how well its code is made, and if things are not tested well it can lead to fail.
So to lessen the burden all of this testing, they simply say "update your system" to remove lots of the variables the devs cant replicate with their own hardware.

What is not said is to have a look in the log files, because ideally they would provide information of why the game does not start.
And just because I thought about this, searching reveals a strange error with a log file of hundres of gb size:

Maybe the game doesnt start because it takes too long opening a .txt of a size that it should never reach.
Then also try what the people on steam did: delete, reinstall.
"I had to delete all the contents of the documents\ace folder, remove the game and install it again. "

"I had to delete all the contents of the documents\ace folder, remove the game and install it again. "
I deleted and reinstalled the game, deleted the ACE folder - none of this helps. I followed all the recommendations that are given on the Internet, except for the absurd ones, like "update the BIOS", "reinstall Windows" - this is too much :)

Have you tried the Kunos forums directly? There's a troubleshooting support section there where you can upload your log file.

Try and take a look at the a log.txt file found in your Documents\ACE folder (as mentioned by @Meythia above) and see if it any exceptions were thrown. For fun, I tried launching the game on my work machine (which isn't equipped with a gaming video card) and nothing seemed to happen - i.e., it runs for a little while but it doesn't display a warning message all, it simply crashes. The reason can be seen in the log file: '[<timestamp>] [others] [error] Exception thrown: Failed to find suitable adapter'

No, I can't find such a topic on the official forum... But there are many discussions of this problem on the Internet, everything that the developers advise doesn't work.

Try and take a look at the a log.txt
I opened this file, but it is impossible to understand from it what the reason is...

I think that the developers are not solving the problem, they are simply listing all possible options for users, from reinstalling all drivers to replacing the computer, on the principle of "maybe something will help"... But you need to look for a real reason so as not to point your finger at the sky.

Are your graphics drivers up to date? Windows likes to overwrite GPU drivers with older versions.

What anti virus software do you use?

My software is fine, everything works like clockwork.
The problem is in the game. I read the discussions - all these recommendations do not help those who encountered this problem. Some people even reinstall Windows, or update the BIOS. It is not me who should change my computer for the game, but the game should work on any computer :) Apparently, I will have to wait for the game update.

If you don't mind me asking, what graphics card are you using?

Ideally yes, but as you see that is not the case.
And in cases like this, the devs need the users to provide all the information they ask for in order to be able to look for the cause and fix it.
This is what was stated in my previous post "please open a thread, describe the problem as you experience and add your log file".
They do not ask you to look for similar threads and find help in them, they ask you for your log file (which already is more support than quite a few other game studios are doing).

Otherwise you have to live with basic troubleshooting like "update your software and check the settings of your malware protection".

@Turnup I came across an interesting issue with the game not starting races and not starting at all in general. I did a tiny bit of digging around online and found that deleting the "ACE" folder in the "Documents" folder will reset the game and allow for it to start. I don't know the underlying issue that causes it to happen, but it worked.

It should look like this -

He said he did that already

I see other messages from people who have the same problems. They post their logs, and there is the same thing that I have - problems with dx11, with the screen resolution, drivers and trustmaster libraries, although the computer does not have the equipment of this manufacturer. And a lot of messages "I have the same thing". And the developer does not answer any of them - no reaction, no recommendations. :(
