It`s fantastic in vr, i use a quest 2, i havent tried any settings that you guys were saying like ditching steamvr, it`s working ok, I did a video before on what it`s like when you get out the car and have a look, still amazes me...wow..

on a side note has anyone found a better pp filter than pure yet for vr? NaturalMod seems to introduce blurryness on latest csp/pure.
i use NatuReal now and seems quite nice , give it a try !
(although it says it does not support Pure only Sol, but I'm using Pure and it looks beautifull)

hi guys!

since I don't how long (a while now) I noticed that when playing on Quest 2 (video options set to output Oculus Rift ), I no longer have any image on monitor while racing (blank screen).
This is mainly an issue if I want to take a screenshot (F8) , it's also completely blank (black).

Anyone has any suggestion to try?
I do have Custom mirroring setting of CSP on:

(also turned off is no change in situation and Mode to default Left eye also no sigar)

ok found this great video which explains everything

also check the top comment pinned by the author. the windows holographic shell was a big performance drain for me.

Hi. Yes the Holographic shell killed my new card when I first got it. I used to disable it each time I powered up my pc.
I reported it to Windows and also Nvidia. I think it is fixed now as I don’t seam to have the problem now.

with video options set to output Oculus Rift , there seems to be in more recent CSP versions an issue w output to monitor ...
For example I'm in daytime on track, and VR it looks all normal , but on main screen all i see is :

so almost everything is blank , only some things are rendered...

Anyone can confirm same experience?

also with "Show on screen" set to Default instead of choosing my monitor, it makes no difference.

"Custom VR mirroring onto the main screen" in CSP Mode tweak:VR section turned off or on makes also no difference...

Anyone can give a golden tip?

Can't open the attachments for some reason so can't confirm but instead of "Oculus Rift" for rendering mode use "OpenVR". Not sure why but AC handles that far better, even when I had an Oculus Rift so give that a try first.

thanks!! with OpenVR set I do get image on monitor again!
only downside I see now , is SteamVR opening (and not closing after race), so each time have to find my oculus controller and close steam vr environment to see my desktop & CM again.

I have Oculus set as active OpenXR runtime, but still SteamVR is starting up each time...

EDIT : and opening a desktop in SteamVR also is not good option, as when I go into another race, the desktop stays on top of VR environment
Plus I don't want the overhead of SteamVR ...
Any way to have OpenVR run Oculus natively?

I’d think there definitely should be but I’m not gonna be much help for that unfortunately, as I really only started playing with OpenXR (not OpenVR in CM) after I got a Reverb G2 and haven’t really touched it much since.

from what I can read OpenVR (implemented in CM) is not the same as OpenXR ...
and so that's prob why it still opens in SteamVR although I have set Oculus client to be the default for OpenXR.

Anyone can tell me how to set Oculus as default for OpenVR?

In the mean time looking for it myself on the www... if I find out, I'll update here.

Correct, CM's OpenVR is just the rendering method; doesn't affect which apps are called for when playing. To play without using SteamVR that's all OpenXR's job but I haven't played with it in a while so I don't remember how to get it to bypass SteamVR.

Afternoon - quick question, I recently went and got a VR headset and im just trying to get the settings fine tuned for the rainy conditions...how do i get rid of the little rain drops in cockpit mode. It literally looks like im driving over hundreds of ball bearings or something. It looks fairly ridiculous if im honest. I've disabled all rain drops in RainFx which is whats confusing me. Should i just disable rain FX? For the record, the car im finding these issues with is the open wheeler (RSS 1970).

Not sure there @Aaron Green it just seems to be ok for me...not sure what setting cause it..

Ps guys check this, im on quest 2 got hands on feature in csp, oh my god this is ridiculously good...

Yeah I think I'll have to take a video, it just looks so odd in any single seater. It appears I'm doing a crap job at explaining 😂 either that or I'm just being picky.

Is it something you can fix. If so what do you do. Thanks.

You have to test as it looks like that each machine behaves a little bit different
But right now, I disabled the use of the toolkit, but if you are using it, I suggest to start disabling each feature individually, as foveat rendering and rendering scale and so son

Hi. Thanks. I downloaded the tool kit but don’t think I’m using it unless it automatically gets used when you fire up Openxr.
I will disable it and see if it makes any difference. Cheers.

that video i posted a while back in here explains how to use it. ctrl + f2 will bring up the menu once in vr and in game. some very good options in the toolkit.

the flickering happens to me as well. it could be that one mesh of the model is too close to another.

Hi. Great. Did you find a solution or something to make it better.

the only way would be to "physically" edit the car in a 3d program. does this happen with Kunos cars? if so its probably a csp issue. if not its most likely an issue with the 3d model

Ok. Seems easy enough. Cheers.
That's ok if your headset supports that way of launching open xr, if it only supports the per game method like my varjo areo does then you have to replace individual files for each game in your x64 folder, which trust me is a bloody pain and I'm still trying to get both assetto corsa and am2 working with it now!

Ive got the quest 2 hand tracking to work in game, so not holding the controllers, just wondered is there anyway to reset the hands in game after your are holding on to your own wheel on the rig, i can`t get them to be in the right position, but it`s absolutely nuts how good this is tho..
