Hi,
as someone always looking for the best visual clarity (but on a budget),
I'm using a Quest3 atm , and have achieved amazing visual quality now (real game changer compared to my previous settings !)
If you have a Quest3 (or 2 for that matter) give these settings a try!
Here's the main things I set :
1) Meta Link set to highest resolution and on 72Hz mode
(EDIT: you can try 80 as well , but then in step 3 set Pixels per display to 1.8 instead of 2.0 to compensate - if you do get Application Frame Drops -> check w Oculus Debug Tool - Performance graph turned on)
2) in Oculus Debug tool setting FOV Tangent-multiplier to 0.7; 0.4 , giving a huge GPU headroom saving! (MUST DO in order to do this)
and always turn Asynchronous Spacewarp off !
3) in AC Video settings I'm using Oculus Rift rendering and have Oculus pixels per display set to 2 (have a 3070Ti, if you have lower try lowering this if you have not enough headroom, if you have a higher GPU make this 2.5)
PP , Anisotropic filtering and MSAA turned
off.
set Mip LOD-bias to -1.75 (or somewhere between -1 and -2 as for prefference - you can change it in-game w the graphics app and see immediate effect. Too much negative bias results in more shimmer, but gives a sharper image.)
EDIT : here you can download my video settings if you want to try them
4) Turned off CSP Weather FX , to use the vanilla weather implementation
(this removes for me micro-stutters that I always had before when using Pure or SOL, almost no more application frame drops which I think were the measure for the stutters)
EDIT : here you can download my CSP settings if you want to try them
So with my 3070Ti I'm able to get the absolute most out of the Quest3 like this and still have +- 50 percent headroom and most important no application frame drops (thus no micro-stutters perceived), while having a very nice image quality and details.
ps: I must say , turning off PP effects does tend to leave you not seeing the brake lights on some car mods, but it is fine on others...
