I have a question for Brittish guys, or anybody more knowledgeable, why does Cadwell get so little attention IRL?

Firstly, it's a right pain to get to and the weather is always grim! Secondly, Cadwell is really a bike track, it's too narrow for modern cars and so the only clubs that race are generally low level.

I did quite a few trackdays there and love it, it's a real mini-Nurburgring!

For those asking after my last post. Here's my version of Legion's GT4 Mustang. Huge thanks to CorteX Racing, KohR Motorsports, Multimatic, Ford Performance, and Hollinger for the information to get this thing as close to dead nuts on as I can :). Fun side note, this car pairs VERY well with the Kunos Cayman GT4!

Note that the stock setup is... driveable but adjustments are recommended dependent upon track and conditions of course. Something I'm still working on is to better the base setup :) Enjoy!

Don't suppose anyone knows if or how the top section can be chopped off? I have the technical ability of a lemon.

Also the btcc car at cota was purely to test out the track

There is a wonderful story about how it started as a dirt track for a farmers kids to ride around on then it was used by friends then they hosted proper races until it became what it is today...the farm is still there though in the middle!!

Aha, thanks. Makes sense, as it is really narrow.

I was at that meeting and Josh Brookes was did have the biggest set by far. :mischievous:

Hmm... I've been waiting for a Senna GTR to come to Assetto Corsa, but from the sounds of it, this particular one isn't really worth bothering with due to the unrealistic physics. Pardon me if I sound like a modding noob (because I... am...), but would it be possible to transplant the physics (suspension? aero?) from another mod, such as one of the regular Sennas? Even if one only does this as a starting point?
better not to transplant the physics and handling from the normal Senna mods, as I found them being too light in the steering department and weird in handling, making even the Kunos P1 feels much more planted and controllable

From fakebook:
Little bit of an update on Willow Springs for you guys! just the AI to do and then you can all have it

What in heavens name is going on with some of those visuals though haha. WSIR does not have a ferris wheel, nor do the paddock buildings look correct. Nor does the Budweiser Balcony building appear to be in the correct location. Very awesome that they cranked it out, but visually it's not accurate :(

From Andreas Marti on fakebook:

FIXED McLaren Senna GTR

Hello everyone
i found some time today to fix the McLaren Senna GTR mod, originally by Lu Thua Kien

Changes:
completely new engine and drivetrain, adjusted weight
new brakes, better suspension (from the P1 GTR) with setup options and completely new tires with correct dimensions
completely bespoke active aerodynamics, which produce the claimed 1000 kg of downforce at 250 km/h, better moving active rear wing
tweaked AI & electronics, new flames
dashboard now shows correct rpm, adjusted shift lights
added glowing exhaust and deforming hood for CSP
new accurate fuel consumption and tank size, +tank location
removed some bloat from the zip file
…and probably some more things I forgot about

Please note that there's still a lot of work to do visually,
there are a lot of weird surfaces(like the red headlights) and some missing/ wrong animations.
Unfortunately I am not able to fix those as the kn5 file has been manipulated in a way that prevents me from opening it.
The car is around 0.1s per lap faster around Imola than the McLaren P1 GTR.

Credit for the original mod goes to:
Thuakien Lu II, thanks for sharing, you've done a good job

Ya, well. Gran Turismo never got it right once either but people still used it. It's better than not having for one and that's what's best about the modding community.
Because the second one that comes from this will probably be more accurate.

I agree though. I'm a little more interested with seeing how the track surface will turn out.

you're not wrong, as i mentioned, happy to see people putting the effort in to make it happen regardless! I'll hold off on my WSIR fix for another few weeks when I'm asked to test the beta version of the track we're building :).

Is this a conversion? Scratch built from satellite data?
It looks good.

Call me crazy but I like the big garages, the start/finish bridge and the ferris wheel at the new WSIR. It’s not a super visually interesting track anyways so having some big temporary structures and fireworks makes it look like it’s hosting some big racing festival.

you must really enjoy the NFS: Pro Street version then :P

What are you guys on about....they just installed a Ferris wheel at Willow ;)

Honestly I'd be less mad about the track's surface degradation if I actually saw them install a ferris wheel of that magnitude. But alas the track is falling apart with no funds being put back into it except for a top coat every couple years haha.

Question...I have downloaded a couple of cars, that when i try to drive them, the view out the windshield is just dark brown but the rear view mirrors show the road ahead, and the car only goes forward in reverse! Anyone else ever come across this, and is there a fix?
Other than a couple of cars everything else is cool.

Were you doing a handstand in front of a mirror when you installed them? Common mistake.

It's a shame when something that iconic (well to me and probably countless other racing fans) gets neglected. What do they race on it though as I've only ever seen youtube videos of track days and time attack and not much else. Is it used for anything major?

nothing major anymore. Just SCCA/NASA regional stuff sadly.. They did however film Ford v. Ferrari there which was cool, but, again not likely that the money will ever be put into any track upgrades going forth... the original owner of the track died and it seems like the family has no idea what they're doing as far maintaining it. Anyway, Streets of Willow is used a LOT for car testing but ironically is in even worse condition than the big track. you go off at Streets of Willow and you're ripping the lowest body panel off the car at the very least. Big willow you go off however, and you might find yourself flying over 400ft in the air.

Small issue with the VAO patch for sebring (Reboot version):

Apparently, if the patch is installed, the central Michelin piece goes missing.

can someone fix it? i already tried removing it and there's some stutter here and there

Anyone can make their own VAO patches really simply. Just go the the CSP Github page here and download BarkeryOptix, currently on version 8:
https://github.com/ac-custom-shaders-patch/acc-bakeryoptix

All you do is drag the KN5 file you want to make the VAO patch for onto the BakeryOptix .exe, and then voila! All the config stuff required is automatically loaded, it will process the file... and then you'll get a VAO patch automatically deposited in the same track folder the KN5 file came from.

EDIT: See post two down to get the full monty. Apologies for any confusion.
