As I was racing the DRM cars this afternoon, I noticed as I was following the PURIANO 3H 2 TURBO, that the tires at the rear are transparent when viewed from the rear, none of the other DRM have that glitch.
That is an issue with the shader settings of the rear fender mesh on the IMSA K3 model unfortunately.
It had been reported some time ago but I guess it fell under the rug until now. It should be a very, very easy fix in KsEditor.

Hi Jari, isn't all that hidden detail just taking up unnecessary resources? We do all we can to get the model object/tri count down for better performance so I'm struggling to see what the point is in adding detail under the bonnet and in the boot. I know there are options in the showroom to open bonnets and doors but it's not like AC has a proper ForzaVista mode for gazing at tiny details. I'd much prefer a version of the car with all of that hidden stuff removed, TBH.

More detail is always better if the overall polycount is in line with Kunos standards and LODs are properly set up.
The car currently has ~ 330K polys in LOD_0 including all the invisible details and is perfectly in line with high poly Kunos models such as the Porsche 917/30 or 908LH.

Normally if you have a high poly model with lots of hidden details you want to keep for those who love to do sim racing photography you build LOD_0 with ALL details and LOD_1 with all invisible details removed and switch to LOD_1 very, very early in game.

This way you will indeed not see any visible difference in performance while racing between running the full 330K poly model with hidden details or a cleaned up version where those details are missing entirely.

It is all in how well a mod car like this is set up properly ;-)

Indeed one part of enjoyment is the exploration of these highly detailed models, doing photographs and enjoy the cars beyond just driving them ;-)

With proper lods won't be a problem, more likely removing engine and other hidden stuff for lod 1 ,going under 10mb with it i think. The devil is in the details they say :-)
Yep ;-)

Maybe somebody can help. With the TCL Jaguar E-Type that I switched out the rims for, I forgot to save the textures for the rims. What's the procedure for getting the textures? Do I need to do the whole process again? Can they be added now?

Edit: I think what I'm going to do is scale down the original rims rather than change them seeing as they were accurate but just too big. Maybe I'll get it right the next time I swap rims.

I'm loving the TopGear long track with extended to 24 pits. Hell of a job. 👍

However the AI seems to want to hit the first tires at the chicanes sequence (alreadry tried with 3 different kind of cars).
Its a pitty, because I like the long layout and the possibility of racing with 24 cars.
Many thanks tho. ;)

I have 2001 version of Imola for rFactor 2, a payed dlc, released from studio 397. In total they built 4 version: 1972, 1988, 2001, 2018.
I think the same versions are for Automobilista 1 and 2.
Actrackreboot built fantastic 1972 and 1988 versions, converted from these tracks...It would be great if someone would be able to do the same with the 2001 version.

Now I can recreate some Fifth Gear Tiff vs Jason battles

I'd like to see your recreation of the Jason Plato vs. Vicki Butler Henderson in the TVR Sagaris vs. TVR Tuscan story... complete with their squeals during excessive power oversteer moments.

Alright, I've scaled down the wheels using 3dsimed, they look good. Make sure textures are there, save everything correctly. Go to CM and redo a preview, that changes the wheel smaller. Now, when I go into Custom Showroom wheels are scaled down until I tick Align Using Data. Wheels big again.
Go do a quick race. Wheels big again.
So I missed something here. Worked when I replace the wheel but obviously have an extra step somewhere when just scaling the existing wheels down.
I'm going to get this car right. HA!

OK, figured that out. A lot more work than I was doing. On to the next.

I had the same issue. You'll need to change the radius of your wheels and tires in tyres.ini if you want them to look and perform smaller. You can also swap to different tires using CM if you don't want to bother with data editing.

This was different than that. I was modifying the model to have smaller wheels and tyres as a whole, not just in the data, although yes, I have to do that now too and resize tyres.ini. In 3dsimed Instead of just scaling the whole wheel/tyre on the car, I had to isolate the wheel, and then scale EACH piece of it separate. The disk, then the blur then the rim then the inner rim then the hub then the tyre. Save that as an oblect and then move to the next wheel. When all dome with 4, replace wheelon original car with made oblects (smaller wheels), then save.
Really kind of a pain in the ass. Somebody out there that knows how to do this easier than that is laughing at me but I got it though.

Noticed an orange glow underneath the C7. At first I thought it may be a new effect for the flaming, but it's underneath the whole car. As you can see, visible front and back? Is this something new with CSP or something? Something I could turn down or off? Or could it be something else.

OK so heres 3 cameras for Anglesey track. Pretty sure i got it from RD if you don't already have it.
It has some cameras that i got from RD and they are really good. I was going to leave it, but then i love this track so what the hell...few more cameras can't hurt can it.

The folder structure has dry track / wet track, both these folders have data folders in which the cameras need to go in...
Also like his Kirkstown track there is also a data folder in the main part of the track too...so add them in there as well..

...if you don't have any other cameras in the folders then keep as numbered in my uploads...
If you have other cameras in there then rename mine to consecutive numbers...
Just remember whatever cameras you have they MUST go from 1 up wards, never mixed up like 2 1 4 7 etc..they won't work..

Cheers.

Here is a quick taste...

I'm new with cameras. I downloaded these, put them in the data folder, changed extension from txt to ini and all was there was camera with no numbers....left them numbered as you had them. They don't work when I press F3 during replays, just the one I already had. What did this noob mess up lol? Thanks for doing these btw...

Would you have a tip where to find the TCL Jaguar E-Type - the packs I found on the VAC discord do not include the Jaguar :-(

This is a CSP feature designed to auto-find the exhaust manifold of a car and color it depending on engine heat.
With the Corvette apparently it doesn't properly auito-find the correct 3D objects.
It can be trouble shot by setting up the feature MANUALLY in the car config file.

I can't find anything.....

Unfortunately it doesn't exist.

I haven't personally tried it, but I found this GP4 conversion of Imola 2001: https://f1classic.forumotion.com/t20093-gp4-conversions

You'll need an account at f1classic to see the thread, but there's a bunch of other goodies there too, so it's not a bad idea to have an account anyway ;)

Cheers!

Edit: Just ran a quick lap, and it appears to work fine. Really good fps, but severely needs a texture update.

It's originally a Velo car but it isn't BoP'd to the TCL pack. I'm still working on it. Soon though.
Aaah, the Velo car ;-)

Thanks for the info.
I have downloaded the Velo car from his facebook a long time ago when he released it and gave constructive feedback about some issues regarding the cockpit model having a couple of holes and some physics related issues.
Unfortunately he wasn't very interested in trying to improve on these issue and given how bad the car was in its state back then I never touched it again.

Is it in any better condition now - where there any updates over time?

A lightweight E-type certainly would be awesome!

The interwebs can be a dangerous place. I stumbled across the pic in the thumbnail and decided I had to have it. I put together the skin, applied it to Uncle M's Corvair that I had in my garage but hadn't driven in ages, took it for a spin and it handled like a pig :( (note to self: always test drive before skinning). So down the rabbit hole of re-work I went. Fortunately since I was starting with an excellent base it didn't take much to make it the Yenko Corvair Stinger I lusted over. If there's any interest I can share with y'all in a day or two.
*all credit for the gorgeous AC crew graphics go to @gergerger 👍

I can’t find information about these objects. I would like to add them to my circuit. Can anyone tell me how to do this, or give a link to material that explains this? I will be very grateful!

great, it works, but it has really low lighting

OK i'll post some pics of my track folder:
Click into the track.

95584260_10159720400244951_2052601919146295296_n.jpg

This is the inside of the folder. Because he added dry and wet tracks later, you still have the ORIGINAL data folder in here. I suppose you could remove it, but l left it in...if it ain't broken and all of that..
So you need to add the cameras into the DRY folder data folder plus the WET track data folder.

95722008_10159720400329951_3860447898500071424_n.jpg

So as above if you click into DATA track folder for example you will see the pic below.
First camera.ini is the one that came with the track.
Next 3 are mine...

96020535_10159720400464951_8838849267020857344_n.jpg

Now the confusion arises because if the DRY / WET track folders..... They too have separate DATA folders inside them..
make sure you add the cameras in those as well.
So if you are using the DRY track and the cameras are in the WET file only, then no cameras...

So to re cap.
DATA folder add cameras..
DRY TRACK, click into it and add cameras in DATA folder in there.
Same with WET track..

Should all be dandy now, provided you didn't have other cameras already in them and if so simply rename them to higher number.

camera_(insert number).ini

Hope this helps.

OK well chuffed with this one:

Legions Silverstone Classic layout. https://perendinator.blogspot.com/2019/05/
Beauty of this one is that unlike the other tracks like Nurb GP and Mugello etc the new track layout isn't just a rough service road....
Kunos put a lot of work into a part of Silverstone that no one would ever see let alone drive on.....

All good....but alas the cameras in the track folder are made for the other layout so you miss the action...for me pointless so i had long binned this track off...until now....
Track camera, i aim to do a couple more.....enjoy.

'txt' to 'ini' and add into CLASSIC track DATA folder only in ks silverstone.
