Just tried Legions's Lotus 88 and my goodness, i was not expecting this thing to be a downforce monster.

It goes around the corners like it's literally glued on the ground when not pushing too hard and makes LMP1 cars look slow in comparison. It laps Deepforest Raceway v1.0 in 53 seconds!

Glad I wasn't the only one who notice! Like Holy Hell this beast can give the RedBull X2010 a run for it money! I love it and it's fun to drive, but it don't seen accurate coming from an 80's vehicle... Needs more skins tho.

1995: 1800lbs@150mph - stepped floor, smaller wings
2000: 2600lbs@150mph

Nikki Lauda:

''Brabham's lead driver, Niki Lauda, realised he had to adjust his driving style, mostly for cornering. He found that if he accelerated around corners, the car would "stick" to the road as if it were on rails. This had the side effect of exposing the driver to very high lateral acceleration, which would become a major problem in the ground effect era. In his autobiography, Lauda described the car as being unpleasant to drive due to the lateral loads and reliance on aerodynamics over driver skill. He realised early on that the rate of ground effect development meant that in the future, every driver would be exposed to such g-loading while behind the wheel of such a car, and the physical effort needed to drive the cars would leave the drivers exhausted by the end of the races.''

Basically we are at the level of the biggest thing an F1 driver has is his fitness.....makes you wonder what Nikki really thought of modern F1...

Just rechecked my work and perhaps the tyres have 10% too much grip but other than that there's is nothing in the car that isn't period correct, so this car may have been able to go this fast.
Of course they never got the real thing to run properly nor race it.
Think of the car as what the designers had in mind, and as if all their ideas had lived up to expectations.

Edit just uploaded a new version with 6% less tyre grip all round.
And yes it does need skins. ;)

Awesome. Thank you :)

I'm trying to build a Grid Preset and Quick Drive preset for the 2015 GT3 championship.

Would anyone happen to know if these cars are as good as i can get, or are there better mods that could replace the current vehicle list, that would perhaps be more time appropriate.

Here is the car list thus far:

Aston Martin Vantage V12 GT3 2016 (Guerilla Mods)
Audi R8 LMS (AGU Modding)
Audi R8 LMS Ultra 2009 (Kunos)
Bentely Contenental GT3 2012 (?)
BMW Z4 GT3 2010 (Kunos)
Ferarri 458 GTE 2011 (URD)
Huracan GT3 2015 (Kunos)
650s Kunos 2014 (Kunos)
SLS AMG GT3 2009 (Kunos)
Nissan GT-R GT3 2012 (Kunos)
Porsche 911 GT3-R 2013 (?)

Currently i'm using default setups, have the tracks and track list for the 2015 season, but some of these cars are not exactly 2015 spec.

Does anyone know if there are more accurate, time appropriate cars i could use in replace of the ones i mentioned, or are these about right?

If anyone is interested I'll upload the quick drive presets in a zip and you can add them to your cm folder, this will allow you to run them in order like a short season, all time, date and weather etc will be set by the quick drive preset so it'll be as close the actual season as possible.

Thanks everyone,

So they spent all that time & effort for no reason!? I can totally understand them being angry if people are trying to claim their work but at the same time, 99% of people that use the mod are using it in the intention it was meant to be used. The modding community is big for these games, it's a little naive on their part if they thought the odd person or two wouldn't do that. Punishing everyone for that is odd to me.

This is was pretty much my stance as well on the whole V8SCorsa debacle. Like sure, it's understandable to be pissed off when someone takes your work. However, it's just immature for them to go and essentially rob the community of the only half decent V8SC mod for AC just because of one guy ripping their stuff. Anyway, if anyone's got the 3.0 version of this mod hopefully it can be uploaded if the modders don't change their minds, thanks. :)

@Shaun Clarke, looking forward to the next update for the Radical, and hopefully some new liveries from the community! Glad you've joined in on this forum and you keep us updated! Had to make a video, it's just as blast to drive, and I know it will get even better!

Oh that video is amazing, can't believe how good it looks in VR, and watching the pitlane animation, that's pretty damn cool.

Thanks for sharing

For those who can not efford this - Motegi

It's likely you don't know as this is your first post, or you created an account just to post this, but sharing paid mods, whether they're good or bad, reasonably or ridiculously priced, wonderful or controversial, is strictly forbidden on this thread by the admin. Not my rules.

If Mitja and URD approved this, that would be a different thing.

I just don't want the name of this thread to be changed again, like it was a few weeks ago, to "DON'T POST PAID MODS! DON'T POST PAID MODS!" or it gets locked due to this activity.

[ EDIT ] I see you edited your post and removed it. Thanks.

Today I tried just something totally different than my usual which turned out to be great experience, ATCC Group A at Mallala Motor Sport Park which is a track I completely forgot about. Great track and that ATCC pack is awesome.

Now I'm at Thruxton with this ATCC pack and damn this is great, I'm in the zone and it's only 6:45AM here lol

Great, I was going to mention that but I figured you're probably inundated with requests. Thanks for all your work BTW, camera work never seems to get much attention on RD, etc. but it's appreciated.

Thanks everyone,

BTW - My Ginetta GT3 fits perfectly and is BOP wiht all those cars you mentioned.

Just an idea

yeah im blocked though lol, i was in the group almost 2 years ago for 3 days in total lmfao. joined a group that he didnt like and i had no idea, childish s***.
Same, was in the group a few years ago, but suddenly announce that he will remove and block ppl who are also being in other groups because some who are in those group stole his mods and spread them, then myself got removed and blocked ever since (despite I had never do anything like that)

Please delete it.

A modder is free to ask for his/her work whatever he wants to: free/0.01€/100€/1billion... then it's up to us to pay for it or not, but we're not allowed to share his/her work just because. And, at least, not in this thread

Again, please, delete it

It should not have been shared but at that price, the likelihood of it being sharing increases ten-fold. At 3 or even 5 it probably would not be shared BUT his sales would increase by ten-fold.

Thanks for rt_daytona. Excellent work. Is there ANY NASCAR mod out there that does not drag its cars' rear ends (in sparks) when going around the trioval bankings? Happens with other banked tracks so it's the NASCAR car mods. If they all do it...is there some setting adjustment possible inside their data folder (perhaps in the suspension.ini) that lift them higher?
It's the collider that extends past the wheels or too close to the ground. Which year are you wanting to use?

That's the problem, I do not master English so I did not manage to pass what I wanted to, it's sorry.

It is not so much at the level of the motivations of the modders as those of the people who download mods.

I think that when you are modders, you have to do it without expecting anything, it's a healthier posture.
On the other hand for the person who receives, who download mods, what are their posture, the thought that I developed was in a way an advocacy for generosity and gratitude.

I think it is good to live with a feeling of appreciation for what life or others bring us
.

EDIT: I wasn't going to post as this debate has probably run on long enough now but this was still in my reply box so what the hell.

I can't speak for anyone else who makes mods but for me I would never make a skin and then expect any kind of payment in return - even if someone has asked me to make one specially for them. I do it because I enjoy doing it - mind you if someone offered me a beer or a few quid I wouldn't turn it down but I wouldn't ever expect it either.
I'm always happy to see someone using something I've made and if they show a bit of appreciation in the form of a few words of praise or a video or pics showing my skins in game that is more than enough to give me a massive buzz (yeah it don't take much for me to get a warm fuzzy feeling inside) and carry on doing what I do.

As for the track everyone is talking abut, is it worth a tenner - I don't know, but if the creator feels that is what it is worth to him then that's down to him. And people will either pay or they won't. I will say for something that for a tenner I'd expect it to be in a finished state and amazing quality so hopefully those that have parted with their money are getting a decent end product.

The main reason the 88 was designed was driver comfort. By '91 there was so much downforce (remember, those were the days of side skirts) that the cars were essentially go-karts, with only the tires' sidewalls to absorb vertical shocks. The 88 sat the driver in a sprung pod (almost everything else was unsprung weight to avoid unsealing the aero) so that the driver wasn't hammered unconscious by the bumps in the road. Or so I'm told.
