they are shared everywhere tbh...... urd can take the links down if they want to

Then it's just a shame that people don't respect the creators enough to care. People are too stingy to spend a few dollars to help out the creators who put their time in to bring good content.

Wait, hang on just a minute, are you aware that a whole bunch of these are URD cars? These shouldn't be shared by anyone other than URD themselves, especially because they're payware mods. If you have any respect for the modding community, you shouldn't share that.

They have been shared other times in this thread (as a matter of fact one of the links is not mine) so Im just sharing 2 cars. URD px cars are from 2015, thought would be good now to share pay mods from 2015 when URD doesnt even drop the price (few dollars means 9 euros for 5 cars when one of them you can get it as kunos content) and Px1 aura at least, has the pitting issue. And like Wusel is saying, you can get them everywhere if you want.

True. URD became lazy and doesnt update their mods anymore. Nobody has to download them if they think it is wrong. If people do not want to pay for them that is fine too. Do not hate the people who share them. They basically gift others smth.

The challenge I have with payware is the inability to try first before rewarding (paying) the “creators”, putting creators in quotes as a lot of payware is “borrowed” from some one else.
To me a lot of payware offering is not worth it, the latest DRM offer beeing the perfect example, a lot of hype from the usual overexcited fan boys to end up with, to me, a very weird physic on an average graphic work. I was able to try before rewarding, I am glad I did, I would have been pissed and desapointed if I had to pay first.
There is a lot of much worst than this DRM exemple out there, a lot!
So for me being able to try first is very important, I will reward if I find it is worth rewarding, the alternative is the donation link, but it takes the balls and the confidence that the mod will be appreciated on its value.
But at the end of the day, asking for money first or waiting on donation, might end up you get nothing, since in both case the links will be available, that is for sure. You are just taking the chance of pissing off more people asking for money first without the opportunity for the player to determine if he likes what you are doing before rewarding.
Most every thing we can buy we can try first, why would mods be any different?

To be honest, Im not gifting. I got them for free too.

I understand that pay mods must be respected if they are done with honest work, so if it causes too much trouble I can take them down.

But yeah, I agree with you...

Speaking of payware...

I only gave my money for 4 teams as RSS, VRC ASR and the last little mod from Sergio Loro.

About ACFL, shame on me and I wasn't aware about a team, I gave money, a while ago, for those guys (with F1 2006, Renault RE30, Williams FW11B, WilliamsFW15 and Benetton B192).
ACFL deals with the CDTP team for the F1 2006 conversion and made it as a rotten mod for AC, particulary the sounds wich sucks.
By the way, ACFL made some freaky cars, shaders are for the most, completely wrong and look plastic age !

Well, I never regret to give my money and particulary for VRC, not particulary for the cars but for the team philosophy wich take care about some ideas, thoughts or some argumentation of the early customers.
And last but not least, VRC and ASR give the released cars for free with a top quality. ;-)

For the others teams, you can guess the rest..!

That is a good point about URD not updating things. Though I don't think that's enough to justify sharing the mods for free, though if what you say about it being shared around everywhere already is anything to go by, there's no stopping it at this point. If it were me, I'd avoid being part of the problem, but to each their own I guess.

I do agree that it would be nice to try before you buy, and I think the modding groups should offer one car as a demo for that purpose. But again, I don't think that justifies sharing the mods for free, even if they're a bit old. And in URD's case, there's always the Corvette C6R that people can try for free.

When it comes to payware that isn't worth it, I'd imagine there's lots of dodgy payware out there, but they're not too hard to spot as they're often blatant rips. I don't tend to stray too far from Racedepartment though, as I find that the further you get the more dodgy the mods get. I can't comment about DRM, though from what I've seen said I'd be inclined to agree with you, hence why I never bought it.

I realized mod with bad Ai can microstutter the game when a silly crash between them happen. With Kunos cars everything works just fine.

I think the pay-in-advance model can be a risk. If modders are proud of their work and think that it's of high quality, then they should be confident that people will voluntarily donate a small sum by way of thanks.
Anyone paying money to the likes of RTM will get what they deserve. A fool and his money are soon parted.

From what I've seen modders say in the past, very very few people ever donate when the mod is free and has a donate button.

I thought that this would be the case. I have no problem giving money to modders who deserve it. I donated RallyLegends for their Lancia because they ****ing traveled to actual owners of the car just to take photos and make sound samples. They do not want you to pay 10€ for one car but exept everything.
CM the same ( I think I do not have to explain why he deserves money for his work)

All mods are free though, just like all music and movies are free. Paying is just a choice that some people make and others don't. At least with a donate button the person who downloaded a free mod might give something back to the modder. With a pirated pay mod that option doesn't exist even if the pirate had a pang of conscience.

Hell, even Ian Bell admitted on tape that he's pirated movies in the past.

I wonder how much money RSS, RTM and others make from their paymods compared to donation-only ones?

Um, I'm not sure what any of that has to do with what I said. You said if a product is good enough the creator should offer it for free and then people will donate money for it due to its high quality. I stated that from what I've heard from modders is that very few people ever donate for free mods, regardless of quality. To add to that, those who do donate usually only give a dollar or two. So if one's goal is to make real money from a mod then it is better to go the pay-mod route than to count on the goodness in people's hearts to donate after trying it, you'll probably make more from three purchases than all of the donations made to a free mod. That being said, I personally disagree with that course of action and while I often donate $5+ for a quality free mod it is extremely rare that I would ever purchase a pay-mod.

I realized very soon (and actually even after updates) than the AI in AC (with Kunos cars) are one of the most stupid, weird, mad, psychotic, dummy that I ever played.
The "AI" (?) is close from "Toca Race Driver" or "GRID" for quick examples !

Need a little help here apparently AC now has a very good night app...Assettobynight.... I'm reading.

Where do I install it, where do you select it using the regular AC launcher?

You need Content Manager in order to install and it has to be AC 64-bit version. And if you want wet weather mod, you need JGSME to install it.

I always donate $1.00 per car, $5.00 per track. It varies with add ons... Content Manager was $5 if I remember for the full version.

Enjoy.
Let me know what you think or if there are any issues for you. The only thing that hasn't been changed on this car is the physical mesh itself. All the data though...

I enjoy the street tires the most, but be forewarned, being aggressive on a warm day setting? The tires will soon be cooking.

I actually love this thread.
RTM need some lube now.
Yes. There have been an incredible amount of mods shared lately. Very nice. :) ACR...That sounds familiar to me, but I can't put my finger on it. Are they a facebook mod group? Do they have a website? I just like to know what I'm talking about, especially when talking trash. RTM must be the biggest d1cks in the AC mod world, by far...

I am finding quite a few new production cars so far, especially from Audi and BMW. I'm not sure if these are new to Assettoland or just new to me - I might have skipped them on my first sweep as there was just so damn much to try.
I've been inactive for like ~2 weeks but I do remember grabbing a few Audi's from AssettoLand that I didn't previously have. I love BMW's so much, I can't help but at least try them.

I've probably only driven 50-60% of the mod cars I've downloaded...however, when I do races against the AI I have fresh, new grids to race against just about every single time I hit the pavement. Some of those cars I don't want to ever drive, due to quality or just personal preference, but I don't mind seeing them on the race track or roads with me. 👍

Hey SlimCharles... Are you a professional artist? I can't even tell if that's Photoshopped or not. Keep 'em rockin'! :sly:

@Tajima - Have you ever come across the car in your avatar? That was my favorite Group C car in Gran Turismo 6 and I haven't found it anywhere.

@rshumi and the other contributors - Thanks for sharing such awesome links. You guys rock. 👍

The whole pay for mods thing is nutty. Of course, people are more than welcome to charge money straight up, if that's what they choose to do. I'll just be honest and say that I reserve my right to pirate the crap out of stuff I want. That doesn't mean I don't give donations. Heck, I've given a donation to Phoenix Racing over at RD and he hasn't even completed a track yet. I've donated a lot of my favorite modders. Amounts ranging from $5.00 up to $25.00 for those I consider AAA+ modders. :) I'm sure I will send more "thank you's" to additional modders as well.

Oh, I forgot to ask if anyone is using that night time mod from x4fab. If you are, how do you like it? That guy is a freakin' genius, I swear. Even Stefano's jaw dropped when he first learned of the project. For as much as I worship the ground Ilja walks on...I do wish he wouldn't leave so many incomplete features and such before moving on to an even bigger idea.
