I have to agree on that. I think the one you posted also looks better. I also think that the RD version is from forza... not sure about that tho. I cant really find any differences in the layouts. They feel the same and I also drive very similar times. But dont take my word for it. I didnt do any serious hotlaps...
they use same model, new version just got more treatment from author.

update to version 1.1 of V8SCorsa 2018.

A few request we get is for custom liveries so people can race in the V8SC field in their own car without doubling up on liveries, well now you can! With an Aussie Driver Search livery which feels right at home among the field. In this update we have included a Aussie Driver Search livery for each make, and for a small fee we can customize the window files and add your name for personal or league events.

WHATS NEW IN VERSION 1.1 :

- Cars Centre of Gravity (CoG) have been lowered
- Default suspensions settings changed to suit new CoG
- Raised the default (spawn) front ride height
- Aerodynamics adjusted to match last obtainable real live figures
- Tires are Kuno’s original data now
- Aussie Driver Search Liveries

head over to the download page to grab it.

I've been following the development of this mod from several sources for many years and just took this version of the Altima L33 out for a quick test. I've always felt the shader values in the .Kn5 file left the appearance of the exterior too "bright" and "cartoonish", in my opinion an error from several of the past modders. The exterior of this model was no different so I did a quick modification of the "Nissan V8_body/ksAmbient" attribute from "0.5 to 0.2" and now the exterior in my opinion is now much more photo/video realistic. So grateful for the many hours these guys have put into this effort, and the fact that they properly take the time to credit others for past efforts in the project. Thanks for bringing this one back to my attention.....👍.

@rshumi The AI is fantastic on it too

They are much better here than on the RD version. On Tiago's, there's several places where they suddenly yank the wheel and stomp the brake pedal: pit straight; after L'Arche Chicane; Mulsanne kink. If you have a grid of fast but lower grip cars, you can guarantee most of them will fly off at L'Arche Chicane, and if they made it that far, will definitely be careering off at the Mulsanne hairpin, sit in the gravel for a while and retire. None of that happens on this other newer version.

The track mesh also seems smoother, all of the crests are much more rounded.

Not tried it yet but it's supposed to be good.

Dude! You must be crazy. CM is absolutely superb for a whole host of reasons. Dragging/dropping zipped mod files is just ONE of its many awesome features.

The scope of CM's abilities is really quite remarkable!

I've found one snag with its unpacking though - I've been installing the RSR supported tracks and for quite a few of them RSR thought it was a either a different track or a newer version, when installed by CM. Tracks worked fine otherwise. Seems to be because it doesn't unpack any Thumbs.db files, so I guess a verification checksum doesn't match or something. (CM also doesn't create empty folders, but I doubt that matters). Extracting with winrar got exactly what RSR was expecting.

On the subject of RSR supported tracks, I still haven't managed to get Barbagallo, Grobnik or Newbury to work with RSR, despite trying lots of different versions. It just displays "Your track mod is newer than on RSR" (apart from Grobnik version 1.6 and earlier which it says is older than required). Does anyone know how to fix or have working versions (with RSR) of any of those?

The RTM BMW 320 Gr 5 cars are very nicely modelled and textured. Makes me wish those recent DTM classics cars were up to this standard.

Edit: I'm guessing the model might be from Project CARS?

There are a few nice cars in amongst that long list. The Ford GT LM is worth a look.

You know when it's not RTM standards to make decent mods, you certainly know it's stolen from someone else.

I've been ill and I haven't really kept up on what's what... I get it that @rshumi is a fan of the Tiago Lima LeMans Circuit. I really like that track too! If I'm remembering correctly, the only thing I really don't like is it is way too restrictive about giving off-track penalties in some locations. I think getting onto the long straight and down the entire straight.

But what is this version you are fond of @Masscot? Do you have a link or anything I could check out?

If RTM is seriously using a Kunos created model, they should very easily be able to put a stop to that. They have Lawyers...I'm sure the dinks who run RTM do not. If RTM refused to take it down and compensate Kunos, I'm sure they could have their ability to accept funds through any legitimate portal (like PayPal) frozen. What a bunch of a-wipes RTM is.

Sorry ladies...I don't have any mods to offer today. I've been out of the loop for a few weeks now. :boggled:

Here you go buddy. Similar, but superior. IMO.

Assettoland seemed to have ground to a virtual halt with their reuploading. At the current rate of three cars a day it's going to take about a year and a half to get their full roster back. I messaged them a while ago and they confirmed that they still have the old Mega links for all the cars and these are all working, but it takes time to do the showroom pictures and write-ups. They didn't mention time taken asking for permissions from modders, but also seems to be their thing now so is bound to delay things.

If the links are the same then I wonder if there's a Google Cache of the old site, the one before RTM spitefully got them shut down (as if anyone needs any more reasons for despising RTM...).

I am finding quite a few new production cars so far, especially from Audi and BMW. I'm not sure if these are new to Assettoland or just new to me - I might have skipped them on my first sweep as there was just so damn much to try.
