I wasn't expecting anything much at all from this bizarre Audi R8 Spyder GT by Assettogarage, but it's surprisingly good fun. It's a good solid mod, and these windscreen-free open-topped cars are always a blast in VR. The texture/shader work in the cockpit is particularly impressive.

Who makes these mods that just seem to appear out of nowhere?

I found about half a dozen new (to me) Audis on Assettoland. I thought I had everything from that site before it shut down, so they must be adding new cars and not just rehosting their previous database.

Just like RTM, Assetto Garage use converted models. Only a handful of modders build mods from scratch nowadays and they are becoming a rare breed.

Still can't find the link without logging in to FB. Any non-fb link for those of us anti social media?

Giving a download link would help. Found it pretty easily with google search though: http://acpmoneysystem.altervista.org/server-2/
Seems like they are releasing the tracks and car packs for public again. Good on them 👍
I'll have a look and see. By dock area it seems like they are adding a new area that wasn't in the Wangan games. The previous version is only missing Minato Mirai area which is a loop at the bottom left end, not a dock by any means. Also, the map could technically be expanded forever if you want to. The Wangan games have expanded to Shibuya and Ikebukuro areas (which is a loop 3x the size of C1, attached to the top left of the map). It won't be "complete" until it encompasses the whole Tokyo and Japan highway system

EDIT: Just quickly looking at the track map, it's only the C1 loop with a dock area attached. Not even the whole Shuto system (file is only 400MB vs 800MB). So no, it's not the complete map by any means.

EDIT2: I can't even find where to enter the dock area. So far it's the exact same C1 loop, with a little better lights (for if you use a night weather mod). Pretty useless if you already have the rev6.

Thanks for the clarification. Looks like a false alarm. However, you mentioned "800MB". All the Shutos I have are nowhere near that size. They're all around 150mb or so compressed. The "rev 6" version I have is around 282mb uncompressed. The latest one I grabbed is from October of last year. Would you be so kind as to provide a link to this 800MB behemoth version you're referring to, or whatever the latest version is currently? And have they been updated so that you can no longer drive into the abyss if you take the wrong road, or have they at least provided road blocks so that you can't do that anymore?

Really? Should look like this:

Try installing it again?

Someone has noted what's wrong with the track mod (see the in the comment section). But nevertheless I am waiting a for better version.

"Nice! This is a great impression of the real track. Smooth to drive, grip levels feel okay etc. The visual updates make a huge difference, bringing it up to a more current AC standard. Overall, I think this is one of your best tracks so far and probably as close as we will ever get to the real Le Mans. Not Tiago Lima's original conversion wasn't nice, only this is so much better! Now for the nitpicking.... Forgive me if I get a bit anal here. I spent quite some time researching an and texturing update for Tiago's circuit last year that for various reasons never got finished, so let's say I may have overdosed on Le Mans. Still have most of my files sitting around, should you want to use them. :) These are the, mostly visual, issues I found after a couple of tryout laps in a reasonably slow car (gotta enjoy the scenery). Suppose some, or most, of them are to-do items but anyway; - Gantry structure at the end of the Porsche curves (Ford billboard) appears missing or somehow invisible? - Nissan billboard, trackside next to the gantry mentioned above, was removed a couple of years ago. Haven't been replaced as far as i can tell. - Outside (left side) wall along the Ford chicanes by the Porsche Center doesn't look quite right, could be that the access road has been moved but I will have to look closer to be sure. Also missing FIA Road Safety banners. - Missing tire barriers at the chicanes on the straight. - Grandstands lack rooftop adverts. - Gant banners/billboards have a different, stylized font on blue backround rather than black - Banner on the fence at Indianapolis should be Gant, not Porsche. - 24h logos, with a few exceptions, should have blue background for the 2017 race. - Circuit de Mans logos varies a lot in appearance over the track. The ones by Mulsanne corner are notably darker than the ones along the pit straight, for example. - Forza/Xbox banners and signs missing at Tertre Rouge and the chicanes. - Slightly muddy or dark appearance of some banners and billboards. -Some trackside objects are very dated. Those are faults of the original track though and easy to miss, especially without a bit of local knowledge."

I'd agree with all that but the track doesn't look anything like the image you posted when actually driving.
I actually had to install the track twice as I was getting errors at first.
It's not perfect but is a definite big improvement over the Tiago Lima RD version.

Unfortunately you have to register on their website to get the full track now: http://acpursuit.altervista.org/

The file name is ww_metropolitan_expressway. You can still fall off but if you use the map app you should see pretty clearly which roads lead to nowhere and just avoid those.

I'm trying to find alternative links to the full track but no luck so far. If I come across it I'll let you know.

EDIT: Found it on some random Russian site lol. Credits to https://vk.com/twc1wangan

Thank kindly sir, YOU ROCK!!!:cheers::gtpflag: I'm gonna register on ACPursuit and try it out. I like the idea of racing for cash to buy new cars. Sounds like another little game I know whose name starts with a G :dopey:

Do you race on there as well? How many people are generally racing around on their server? Is it jammed packed all the time?

Odd as this is, I actually never bothered with CM  I have a notepad file I manually edit with each car/track mod's name, version and source. I just prefer to unzip and copy/paste files manually in case anything goes wrong. I'm pretty sure CM does it just fine and quicker, but that's how I've been doing it since Viper Racing/rFactor days. Yeah I'm old school :P
Stefano Cassillo used it a while back and said " why am I only using this now". So even he was impressed with CM.

Christ, depositfiles *facepalm* Oh well it's better than nothing. Thanks for your help 👍

In a bid to save space on my HDD sometimes I delete 90% of the skins in a mod car and leave only 1-2 that I like. Since I don't race offline/online I don't really care about multiple liveries. Wish more modders upload only the base car and a separate skin pack to make file sizes smaller
It's ridiculous how much space some skins take up. Often, when the modder doesn't understand the importance of .DDS files instead of .PNG files they end up with huge file sizes. There's this one modder, I'm not 100% positive, but I think his name is Peter U. and he's released some cool cars! He also usually supplies like 30-40 different skins for his street cars. Just different combinations of interiors, exteriors, etc...and his aren't that big in file size. But, I still have to delete 80% of them. It is nice of him to offer such choices though...

Looks like I haven't missed a ton in my absence. I've always been surprised we didn't have a great version of LeMans. I know it's enormous, but there are some track makers who could pull it off.

Hey there ALB! Do you know which car files impact FPS the most? Is it .DDS vs. PNG skin files? Or maybe KN5 file size? I recall in my first attempt to improve FPS, that redirecting the car/data/lods file to a smaller LOD file had no affect on FPS. I'm interested in modifying car files to improve FPS so I can run as many as 108 AI cars at the Nordschlief (the Nordshlief 108 Mod). 👍

Disable unused apps with Content Manager helps performance. At least it does in my case. You can customize, add/disable apps for your own liking and gain more performance.

update to version 1.1 of V8SCorsa 2018.

A few request we get is for custom liveries so people can race in the V8SC field in their own car without doubling up on liveries, well now you can! With an Aussie Driver Search livery which feels right at home among the field. In this update we have included a Aussie Driver Search livery for each make, and for a small fee we can customize the window files and add your name for personal or league events.

WHATS NEW IN VERSION 1.1 :

- Cars Centre of Gravity (CoG) have been lowered
- Default suspensions settings changed to suit new CoG
- Raised the default (spawn) front ride height
- Aerodynamics adjusted to match last obtainable real live figures
- Tires are Kuno’s original data now
- Aussie Driver Search Liveries

head over to the download page to grab it.

@rshumi I'd urge you to reconsider and give this track another chance - I've not raced anywhere else in the past few days.
There might be some technical inaccuracies but this version blows the RD version completely out of the water. The AI is fantastic on it too, I've had some superb GT and LMP battles on it. The replay cameras are really well done too (I don't normally bother with replays), with some nice helicopter options.

Did you try reinstalling it? It should NOT look anything like the basic image you posted, which seemed to be missing several texture passes.

I have a better version, plus new versions shows up in the upcoming months.

By the way, does anyone know if the Toyota TS010 project is still ongoing or dead?

That's the version I had previously. I have to say, I think this RD Tiago Lima version is inferior in every way to the Terra21 version that I posted, and that's even ignoring the ridiculous off-track penalties in the RD version.

I'm very curious - what is it that makes you think the RD version is better?

I have never experience issues with it and working perfectly. Several places there are gravel traps and if you end up in those, you get stuck.

I liked the RD version but after playing both back to back I do think the one I posted is far superior.

I have to agree on that. I think the one you posted also looks better. I also think that the RD version is from forza... not sure about that tho. I cant really find any differences in the layouts. They feel the same and I also drive very similar times. But dont take my word for it. I didnt do any serious hotlaps...
