What's with the front wing on that model? I'm guessing this car wasn't scratch built, but a mod and reskin of a totally different F1 car, because that front wing is absolutely nothing like any Ferrari front wing I've ever seen. The rest of the model isn't exactly stellar either.

Eh? I got accepted into that group instantly, despite having no prior connection to the mod community (Mike's group was one of the first mod groups I joined on facebook). The only way I can see it being difficult to join is for someone who has a bad reputation within the community.

Maybe I have them mistaken for a different group. I thought this was the group that had the 3 mystery questions that have to be answered, but you never find out what those questions are. My apologies.

Just answer the following in this order:
1. 32 degrees Celsius unless more vinegar is added
2. He claimed that a monkey had stolen his trousers
3. At the top of the wardrobe in an old shoebox

AL on VK is halted because of AC car mods, and now the old one is coming back (well, sort of)

I need help from some kind soul please. I've got one SRS round left in the Cayman GT4 Clubsport and I'm getting an error message that this car "might be missing or its data is heavily damaged". No idea what's happened, I've not been editing it except saving a pitstop strategy for the last round at Road America.
Could someone please upload the whole car folder for me? I don't want to verify the integrity of my steam files as when I've done this before it's borked a whole bunch of mods.
I've been having all sorts of trouble since the recent Steam chat update, which seems to keep opening intrusive dialogue boxes all over the place when I'm trying to bloody race. I wonder if it's related to this in some way?

Ah, thanks very much Elio!
Looks like the problem is not in the car folder as I'm getting the same error with your folder. Seems like some external data that it references has been compromised, probably by some crappy mod overwriting a file somewhere.
Bollocks!

Looks like an integrity check might be the only solution. Has anyone here done one recently, and were there any negative effects? I seem to remember it causing problems before, but can't remember exactly WHAT problems.
I think it removes any sound mods installed on Kunos cars. Does it affect skins as well? I really cannot remember.
It doesn't delete any mods does it?

Maybe we could try verifying suspicious folders 'manually', if you have some in mind?

e.g. the car folder's md5 is attached, your files can be verified with hashcheck.

Bloody hell, I wouldn't know where to begin with that..!
If I could remember what actually happens to a mod-rich AC folder during a Steam integrity check then I might just go ahead and do one, but I really don't want to knacker a whole bunch of mods.

Not as painful as it looks, honestly! Once hashcheck is installed, you'd just unzip the md5 file to the folder above the one to check (e.g. content\cars for the one I posted), double-click the .md5 file, pick hashcheck to open it and it will list pass/fail/missing etc for each file.

Thanks - I'll take a look at it tomorrow with a clearer head, and also try to find out how a Steam integrity check will affect any installed mods. If I can just run that then it'll probably be a lot simpler and quicker.

@Elio92 - I'll be keeping all of those skins. Thanks!

I suppose that if a mod changes a standard file, it would get reset. I've stayed away from weather/season mods so far because I don't understand what they do to the files yet... maybe they could be affected by a steam integrity check, I don't know. I did run the check once and it didn't mess up any of my car or track mods, but I had a lot less of them then!

What I might do is install a clean copy of AC on my laptop (hey, it might get 10 FPS, lol) just to get a full .md5 of all the standard files, with no mods. It would give a way to do a check without risking changing any files, and would also highlight anything that a mod changes.

Just did some more testing and it's a whole bunch of cars that are affected.

I just tried running an integrity check and according to Steam... I don't have Assetto Corsa installed.

Very weird.

OK, I *think* I've solved it, and I'm pretty sure it was linked to this bloody Steam Chat update that seems to have caused ripples all over the place.
Basically, Steam had suddenly started ignoring my D-drive SSD, where Assetto Corsa is installed. It was only checking the C-drive HDD. Once I told it to open its bloody eyes the problem has gone away. How annoying to waste a whole evening faffing with this, but I'm relieved it's nothing serious. And no Steam integrity check required either.
Thanks for your help @Elio92 and @Outspacer.
Phew!

Phew!

Glad it's sorted! So was it the Steam Library Folders setting that got messed up? Mine seems to have survived, AC on C, others on D, both still working, so I didn't think of that.

Yep, Steam just started ignoring my SSD for no good reason. I still can't quite work out how AC worked at all, because I was pretty sure that Steam checks are run as soon as Content Manager is launched. But maybe not.

The big clue was AC showing as not being installed, even though I was playing it.

I'm damn sure the Steam Chat update caused all this. Grrrrrr...

I guess the licence check passed and didn't care about library folders, but then AC tried to find some file based on the lib folder and couldn't. Why it isn't all relative to where the .exe is, I don't know, but it's good to know to check that lib setting if things start failing :)

It's because it's based on Kunos Ferrari SF70H, not made from scratch. And correct it's doesn't look close to the SF71H.

You sure that's based on the Kunos model? It looks pretty poor compared to the quality of Kunos SF70H. Also, the front wing is completely different to any Ferrari front wing I've seen, not just different to the SF71H. The 71 has a very similar front wing to the 70, so if this is based on the Kunos SF70H, they've changed the front wing completely for no apparent reason. I'm only going off the screenshots, but I'll download it and have a closer look, because I'm a huge aero nerd and F1 technical nerd. I know it probably doesn't bother most of you, but such glaring inaccuracies do bother me in a sim.

*Edited just to say that while I don't visit these parts as often as I used to, I still love you guys, and coming back here to find people sharing the rip off paymods for free has made me love you all even more. Cheers!:gtpflag:

It's typical ACR, trying to make a big deal out of their mods. All of their contents is stolen from someone else, and they never say who is the original author of the mod.
