Here's Volume 7 of the Assetto Corsa Multiple Track Mod Review Project or LOTS OF LAGUNA SECA (5), LE MANS (5), MAGNY COURS (5), AND MONACO (7!) VARIANTS

Volume 1 - A is here.

Volume 2 - B is here.

Volume 3 - C and D is here.

Volume 4 - E, F, and G is here.

Volume 5 - H and I is here.

Volume 6 - J and K is here.

Sorry this one took so long. I had a couple other projects to complete between the last volume and this one, and then I decided to do both L and M in the same volume for some reason, which took ages, but here it is!

Laguna Seca

This is a really basic version of Laguna Seca. I'm pretty sure this came out very early in the life of Assetto Corsa and it shows. There isn't anything terrible here, but it's just pretty bland compared to modern mod tracks. Not a lot of detail, almost no road-feel. It's what you would expect from an early mod release.

This is a conversion from an older game and it's ok, but has some weird texture issues on the curbs and the skidmarks on the road. They cut off sharply and are also strangely dark as you approach them. Some kind of weird shadow issue. It's not worth getting.

Folder Name: laguna_seca
Author: aspec7878
Download: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/laguna-seca.2220/
This one has some issues. When racing with a full grid I could only get 30ish FPS in VR, and the sand on the side of the track was completely transparent, so you could see into the void on all sides, even though I couldn't fall through it. It does have more trackside details than the Linolafett version but those details didn't look very nice. Not sure what's up with this one. This appears to be a conversion of the same source material as the demonized version.

This is an improved version of the aspec7878 version, things look a bit nicer, and the ground isn't invisible, but the performance issues are still there.

No performance issues here, and as expected the details are on point. This is the definitive version of this track for AC and unless you're pirating the game I'm sure you already have this.

Folder Name: lakeside_qld_conversion

This is a pretty rough conversion from rfactor with some fairly bright textures and rough road surface. There are a few spots where there's a gap between the road and the grass where you can see through into the "void". The trees are all flat looking and seem to be rendered incorrectly so they pop-in occasionally.

This conversion knocks it out of the park. The road mesh has been smoothed in the process so it's a dream to drive on and visually everything looks great. This is definitely the version to get.

I don't know if this is a conversion from another game or if it's scratch built but this track looks great. It has excellent details throughout and I can't come up with anything negative to say about it. It comes with 4 layouts, a day and a night version of with chicane and without chicane, but in these modern times the night versions don't need to be used, you can just set the time in CM nowadays. Great AI and great night lighting.

Folder Name: lemans_2019

Download: I have no idea where I got this but I think it was in this thread (I can't find it with the search though)
I'm not really sure what's different in this version other than advertising boards because it seems pretty much the same as the 2017 version. Nothing bad to say about this track.

The other versions are already great but this version is phenomenally good. It is converted from Forza Motorsport 7 and it was done very well. This is incredibly detailed, super well lit at night, great AI, great feeling on the road, and at least for me it performs well. If you don't have a machine with a lot of grunt grab the 2017 or 2019 variants above, but if you do have a good machine, do yourself a favor and get this one.

There's a really nice amount of detail here. There is a weird texture right under the dunlop bridge near the start of the track but that might just be a bug in my installation or something. It seems like it could also use a grassfx config, since the 3d grass that's in there now isn't that great. Other than that stuff, it's excellent. The AI also doesn't seem to know how to drive this track, they all freak out on the long straight right where the first chicane would be. GrassFX and and an AI fix would probably make this great. Also, there's no night lighting at all, so adding that would be pretty cool too.

Now this is beautiful. It's a new release from Legion but it's actually something that he worked on a long time ago and just got around to releasing. It's already really good but I'm sure the community is going to make it even better. It has an excellent feel to it both visually and in the driving, and it brings back a lot of memories from when I was a kid. I highly recommend this one for this particular era of Le Mans. Missing is lighting at night and grassfx but hopefully those can be added soon. This is the one to get.

Testing Car:
ACFL Formula E Evo2 Gen2

Folder Name: lester
Author: Gilles75
Download: Pay Mod - https://celletson.wixsite.com/acclassics/modern-tracks
This one is a bit surprising. It's pretty decent looking (although ugly road texture) for a Gilles track. The road surface in a formula E car is REALLY bumpy, It's pretty hard to drive, but it is based on real roads. Still feels like it could be toned down a bit. Nothing big to complain about here, but nothing that particularly stands out either.

This one is a conversion from the same source material as the Gilles track but so much more care and attention to detail was paid. The lighting and shadows especially look so much more detailed and lifelike. The road is the same level of bumpiness, but like I said in he gilles one, maybe it's reflecting what the actual roads feel like. I by far prefer this version over the others. It also comes with two skins, the original skin and a formula E skin.

Download: Pay Mod - https://celletson.wixsite.com/acclassics/modern-tracks
This is one of the better looking Gilles tracks that I've tried. It's not great by any means, but it looks better than most. It's got some issues though. Low poly road mesh makes elevation changes really rough, the textures are all pretty low resolution, and biggest of all for me anyway is the lack of visible barriers or signs telling you where to go on roads that aren't actually the track. It's easy to get lost here, which just seems really weird. Don't spend money on this.

Folder Name: lienz_reworked
Author: Sliderman, nobody, Fanapryde, Mascot, norms, Mike08
Download: https://sharemods.com/um5fqtk9kghl/lienz_reworked_v1.75.7z.html
The grass is so much better in this version, and it overall looks a lot nicer and I really appreciate the barriers. The road mesh is still a bit bumpy on hills from it being so low-poly, but overall it's much better. There are a couple of sections where the grass is growing in the middle of the road, mostly where 2 roads join each other. Probably an easy fix in the ini. Definitely get this one.

Update: after testing, the material "RDCPZBASE01" should be added to OCCLUDING_MATERIALS to get rid of the grass in the road. The problem is worse with the M8-Retexture skin active, but it's still there to some extent (there's some gray grass poking through, just not much) without the skin active as well.

Folder Name: rt_lime_rock_park
Author: Reboot Team
Download: https://www.mediafire.com/file/8pnw5ceo5cx7y09/rt_lime_rock_park.7z/file
This version takes the same Forza 7 base and adds tons of life to it and tones down the grass to a reasonable length. Performance is improved, and instead of having wet variants, it relies on the CSP rain for that instead, to great effect. This is the version to get.

Lamborghini Miura P400 SV

Folder Name: lippo_circuit

This is a fantastically fun track to drive. The road surface is good and the surroundings are impressive, especially the big buildings. I really enjoy it. The only flaw I can think of here is that the signs on the track-bridges and the trees are a little over-exposed. Other than that, this is fantastic. I recommend this version.

Folder Name: lippo_circuit

This is basically the same but darker and with grassfx. Nothing else is readily apparent, and it's just a little too dark. The skid marks were also made to be weirdly shiny for some reason and it makes the road look really strange.

Everything in this version is very harshly bright, and with the road so bright sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between the run-off areas on the side of the road and the road itself. Perhaps this wouldn't be so much of an issue if I weren't using VR.

I love this place, and this track looks amazing. Very colorful, really cool at night too. Unfortunately performance is really low even on a high end machine. Still, it's much better than any other available version so if you have to turn settings down to make this track work, do it! (I really hope some optimizations come to this)

This one mostly doesn't look as bad as gilles tracks usually do. It's got nice textures, but it does look a bit dated. Unfortunately care wasn't taken with materials that have alpha channels like tents, towers, and stuff like that. instead of being able to see through them, they just have a black matte applied to them. something that should have easily been caught in testing.

Folder Name: magna_steyr

This was converted from the same source but all of the flaws of the Gilles version are fixed, and it's got grassFX. I prefer this version.

Folder Name: magny_cours

This one looks good but it has some bugs. The trees seem very dark, but everything else looks the right color. Also the spectators and the trees flash in and out when in VR, especially while turning my head. I spent about an hour messing with CSP settings, trying different versions, disabling extensions one by one to see what was causing it and the only way to make the problem go away was to just disable CSP completely. This had the side effect of making the trees look normal again. I re-enabled CSP and deleted the extension ini for this track and that made the trees look their normal color but they still flashed in and out. I tried CSP 0.1.61 (my regular version), 0.1.52, and 0.1.46 and none of those fixed the flashing trees and spectators. It's a shame too because aside from the older method of 3d grass, this track looks great.

This one is a little strange. It looks nice and the 1993 setting is cool, but the track layout isn't the 1993 layout. The ACF version of the 2001 layout might have been a better candidate for this skin.

Folder Name: magny_cours
Author: @jk0011
Download: http://www.mediafire.com/file/n2au28q18p07zhn/magny_cours_fix4_3.7z/file
This is what I wanted. It's a fixed version of the Terra21 version. All of the good stuff without the problems present there. Unfortunately it was named the same as the Terra21 version so it overwrites it, and I get that it's an update to it, but then CM thinks it's the original, downloads the configs for the original version, which are significantly different to the configs included with this track and then you get conflicts. It's always best to rename the track to avoid this kind of conflict.

This is a further rework of the @jk0011 version that fixes a few visual bugs and makes the background look nicer. Not a huge difference, but it's an improvement on the best version available so I'd suggest grabbing this one.

Folder Name: acf_mallory_park_r1
Author: ACF
Download: https://mega.nz/folder/d8RmGIDa#eNn1zMIK-Y9gAukU5zxsvg/folder/5hIW3KDS
This must be a work in progress because it's not up to ACF's standards. The track surface is really rough, the grass texture is nearly flourescent green, the trees are really repetetive, and the road texture appears to be mapped globally instead of being mapped to the road, so the lines that are supposed to follow the road just repeat over and over. It needs a lot of work.

Folder Name: mallory_park
Author: @pk3r72owns
Download: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/mallory-park.34224/
This one is fantastic. 7 different layouts, the road feels good, the grass looks amazing, great variety in the trees, and there are a few included skin options. This is definitely the one to get.

Martinsville Speedway
Testing Car:
NASCAR Circa 1990 (Legion)

Folder Name: martinsville
Author: llamafett
Download: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/martinsville-speedway.22077/
This one is alright, but a lot of textures are mapped sloppily, the grandstands, the road, and the crowds are overexposed, and if you look closely at the crowd you will see a lot of people are just floating pairs of jeans with no bodies attached. The grass is just another flat overexposed texture. When racing the AI I got 8 laps in and then all of the AI cars disappeared and reappeared on pit lane, then went back out to the track. Not sure what's up with that.

I'll be honest, I couldn't tell the difference between these two. They were exactly the same to my eye, right down to the weird AI cars disappearing on lap 8 again. Very strange.

Update: I tried a different car and didn't have the disappearing AI so maybe the car is the problem.

Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 1970

This place looks way too bright, except the trees which look pretty good. Unfortunately at night trackside objects have a weird red glow to them. There's no grassfx or anything like that, and it overall looks pretty dated.

Folder Name: maspalomas
Author: Assetto-FR.tk
Download: https://sharemods.com/4uin33x8jtbg/maspalomas.7z.html
This one looks a lot better, the brightness is toned way down, it has grassfx (but no lighting) and the red glow is gone at night. The pit lane doesn't actually function as a pit-lane though. The trees also need to have their materials tweaked to not reflect light so much, the way the shadows cast on themselves they look flat (they are, like most trees on tracks). There's some "normals" thing you can do to them to make them look good, but it wasn't done here. Despite these issues, this is the best looking version. Fixing the pit lane here and the trees would make it as good as it can be. (UPDATE: I took a stab at fixing the trees, the brightness, lights, and pit-lane here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/1bnv0ly7v5ulebq/gb_maspalomas.7z/file

This place is really impressive, especially given the age of this track. There are some really big dips here, and this is a conversion from rfactor so I anticipated a pretty low poly track mesh but I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth it is. It is missing grassfx but that's not really that big of a deal. This is a really nice track and I can't find anything to complain about. I have put together a grass and rain update for this track, you can grab it here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/54fnj1h54agx23t/matra-park-extension.7z/file

This one has definitely received the standard ACTK treatment. The asphalt texture has inexplicably changed to something incredibly dark, the overall lighting just looks gloomy. Skip this version.

Mettet
Testing Car:
Ferrari 355 Challenge HC

Folder Name: mettet
Author: Gilles75
Download: Pay Mod - https://celletson.wixsite.com/acclassics/custom-track-packs
This is a typical lazy conversion by Gilles. The road mesh is incredibly rough, it looks like a PS1 game, the start/finish line doesn't extend into the pits so the laps don't count if you go into the pit lane, none of the walls have collision so you can just drive right through them, and it has some of the lowest resolution textures I've ever seen in an AC mod. Don't buy.

Folder Name: actk_mettet
Author: Assetto-FR.tk
Download: Pay Mod - http://www.assetto-fr.tk/AC-Forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1201
The low res textures are back, the pit lane lap counter is fixed, and the walls work, but it has the laziest grassfx I've ever seen. The track has a line of white gravel going down the side of the track right next to the grass, but you know what's here? white grass. White grass that is long enough that I'm sure its harboring 1000 of the lowest poly snakes you've ever seen. Don't buy. The fact that either author thought their work was worthing charging for here is mindboggling.

Someone should really make a free version of this track. Someone just might...

This one is alright. It's definitely an older conversion of an even older track and the trees are a bit on the "strange-looking" side colorwise, but could probably be fixed with a good CSP config. It doesn't have grassfx or anything either. Nothing really wrong with it though.

Folder Name: mam
Author: Assetto-FR.tk
Download:https://sharemods.com/bpoom2isyng8/mam.7z.html
This is a rework of the Dumeklemmer version and it's actually really good. It doesn't suffer from the usual dark gloom of the ACTK reworks, it color corrects the trees and adds grassFX. Get this version.

This place looks fantastic! The grass, the textures, the trackside surroundings, the visual detail of the road surface, the trees, everything looks great. I've heard complaints that it's too bumpy but it seems fine to me. I don't know what this was originally converted from but Terra21 did an excellent job. For me, this is the one to get. I understand that some people hate the bumpy surface though.

Folder Name: nagp_mid_ohio

So this is the Terra21 version with the road smoothed out a bit and a lot of details removed. I've never driven there but I've seen videos and it seems like a pretty bumpy place to me, so I'm not entirely certain why they smoothed it out. Also the lack of trackside details and the removal of the rubber on the road really makes this one look less good. For those that hate the bumpy surface of the Terra21 version I suppose this one is fine, but the loss of detail really keeps this one from being my choice.

I think this is just the NAGP version with some different skins. They look nice, but there's no grassfx or anything. I think it's a work in progress. Unfortunately some things that were overlooked in the NAGP version are still overlooked here. a few curbs don't have rumble, etc.

This is a rework of the @Zwiss version billing itself as an update, but I don't know if this version is actually "blessed" as an official release by zwiss so I'm treating it as a separate track. It's really similar to the zwiss version but the grass is a lot longer and the lighting is a little bit brighter. Personally I prefer the shorter grass from the zwiss 2.0 version but both versions are quite nice looking.

Milan

Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione

Folder Name: milan
Author: Gilles75
Download: Pay Mod - https://celletson.wixsite.com/acclassics/modern-tracks
This one was a surprise to me, given Gilles75's reputation. It's not a mess. It still has flaws, like the rumble strips don't rumble and you can just drive through tires, but all the concrete barriers work as you'd expect, all of the colors look right, and there was some attention to detail with bumpiness of the road surface on the sections of road with embedded train track. This might be the best Gilles75 conversion I've tried and if there were no alternative it would certainly be worth the pound he charges for it (if it hadn't been ripped without permission and then sold with no input from the original designer, in this case codemasters.)

This is bad. Maybe it's the source material that was so bad, but when the @shi version is available there's no reason to even try this. It looks like a PS1 game. There's so much that could have been done to modernize it for AC but it looks like all that was done is adding grassfx.

This is a scratch made track for AC from 2016 and while it's solid and looks fine, there are elements of the track that look a bit dated now, understandably, since that was 5 years ago. This is a fun version of the track, but there are newer/better ones available.

This is an excellent conversion from ACC, laser scanned, and converted with a lot of care and attention to detail, which you can always expect from reboot team. One of the best looking tracks available for AC, and feels great to drive too. This is the version to get.

This is yet another rework of the foyol version with a bunch of extra trackside objects, helicopters, flags, better trees, and a lightened asphalt texture. Of all of the versions based on Foyol's track, this one is the best, but it just doesn't match the quality of the reboot team ACC conversion.

This one is a codemasters conversion so it's got a lot of detail in it. That being said, textures are pretty basic here and the trees are not that nice looking. Overall, it's a good version of the track but there's room for improvement.

Folder Name: monaco 1.5v

This one has slightly less detail than the ACU version, and blockier, dirtier looking textures. It's main downfall is an extemely bumpy road due to a low poly road mesh so it's a bit too bumpy for my tastes.

I like this one a lot. The colors look good, the textures look more detailed than the ACU version which looks a little bit cartoony in comparison. It's a really solid version of modern monaco.

Folder Name: monaco

I think this must have been one of Mitja Bonca's earlier track conversions because it does not have the attention to detail I've come to expect from his tracks. This one has a very low poly road mesh and it's quite bumpy. some textures are stretched to the wrong aspect ratio and the trees look downright ugly. It's not terrible and I imagine some of the sacrifices in quality were to keep performance reasonable, but it just isn't a very good version.

This is (I think) ACU's version with a fresh coat of paint. This cleans up a lot of the problems with the ACU version like some weird textures on buildings that looked a bit flat, better trees, and a better road texture. This also adds lighting in the tunnel and it overall looks a lot better. It's also the first version I've tested that has a functional DRS zone. Performance is a bit lower, but it's a good tradeoff for all the extra detail.

This one is the same as the 2017 version with updated sponsors and much better performance. It's a beautiful version and before the 2021 version came out it's the one I preferred. The lighting ini for the 2017 version mostly translates over (might need a few tweaks) by just copying it to monaco_2019.ini.

I'll start this off by saying that since this is more than just a skin and it's a track rework that I really wish this had been renamed to "monaco_2021" or something like that, especially when it's release forum post encourages deleting the old track. CSP/CM config and skin conflicts could easily be resolved by just releasing it under a different name. All that being said, this is a fantastic continuation of what was built for the 2019 version. It feels real and natural, the track is appropriately bumpy, and the updated sponsors really provide a lot of immersion. I like this one the best.

This is a surprising version of this track. It was comissioned by a company that provides professional level sim racing equipment to real life racing teams and I think it was released as a way to promote their store. They claim that two years of effort went into building the track. Unfortunately it's a really weak conversion. Bad textures, lots of weird graphical artifacts like things flickering in the distance (z-fighting) and it's just not great. One advantage it does have over the other versions is all of the track variants. But that's something the general AC modding community can add to the rest of the versions available as well. This track was actually for sale for a while, but now it appears on their shop with a price of $0. It's not really worth the download even at that price.

This is converted from the same source as the rest and it's exactly what I expected. A minimal conversion with a generic grass config. Colors are muted except the mountain surroundings which are cartoonishly bright, and just a lack of care and attention to detail all around. Skip this.

This is an older track so obviously it's going to have a few visual issues. The trees look otherworldy in spots, but overall the surroundings look pretty good. It's incredibly bright and washed out so I had to use the sol config to fix the exposure and that made it look mostly normal. There's no grassfx and several old looking textures, but this track is really brought down by it's unfortunately harsh road mesh. Driving up and down hills feels like driving up a staircase. And you'll feel that a lot on a hilly track like this.

Guys, I created a custom champ for the V8s using the v8scorsa mod. I added Adelaide 2011 (with pits extension) as a first track on the calendar and noticed a weird behavior from AI during the race. Or, perhaps it's not weird, just normal for AC or this track mod? Hope you can help me understands this

So I was running a 32 laps race, fuel consumption and tyres deg both set to x1. I did part of the qualy and skipped the rest of it (just mentioning in case this had an impact on the 'issue'). All AI cars started on (S) tyres. The problem occurred on laps 4 and 5 when all AI cars pitted, which I found was rather early. They all came out back still on (S) tyres. Also, 4 laps in sounds like very early for refueling considering the AC default fuel setup is 30l which allows 10 laps at Adelaide.

What is the logic behind AI pitstops? Does it depend on the track, or is it flawed in AC's core? How does the AI setup the cars for the race in terms of fuel and tyres? Is there anyway to manage that in config or with settings somewhere before the race?

I'd appreciate help on this... I was looking forward to have some fun with this mod and run a longer season with 30+ laps on a number of AU/NZ tracks with a mandatory pitstop - but now not sure if it's not gonna be a waste of time

Also, actually another two things I've noticed and wondering if there's fix. Let's call it issues #2 and #3 for the sake of this post.

#2
On the same track (Adelaide 2011), I'd say 7/10 times, AI completely clogs first chicane after race start. To the point that first I get high CPU occupancy, then half of the AI pack retires. Any ideas for this one?

#3
Track seems to be very heavy on resources, especially the starting straight. Even with CSP switched off (which helped increasin the overall performance) FPS drops down to 30 on that straight on 1440p... and... weirdly enough, to around 35 on 1080p. Is it just the optimisation of Adelaide 2011? Don't seem to have a similar issue with other tracks, although, I have't tried V8s on other tracks yet

in data there must be a "fuel_cons.ini" file and in "tyres.ini"
[COMPOUND_DEFAULT]
INDEX=0
defined default tyres without qualifying.

If AI have accident they pits (you can modifie ai.ini or changes the ai lines of the track or reduce dammage in aero.ini and in damage.ini INITIAL_LEVEL= MIN_SPEED=), if they skids too much also they pits.

Big thanks for all these updated and reworked tracks, __EASY__, VHE, norms and others.

I search tracks with bumps, elevations changes and few straight lines, like Ledenon or Bilsterberg.
Does it exist a version of Virginia with some bumps, the road is so flat, I think COTA have the same problem.

Hi,

I think the update is awesome overall. The trees give a nice touch but the track is maybe a bit dark because of it. What do you think?
No you're not the only one. I mentioned it too about adelaide 2011. I think it's lack of/too low ksDiffuse values in combination with the ksAmbient ones @__EASY__ is using plus maybe ksSpecular in some cases. It's great the amount of work being put in but a shame about the dark gloomy feel on a lot of the tracks despite no clouds, summer and mid-day.

@__EASY__ maybe you prefer the darker look or perhaps your monitor needs calibrating? On the other hand it could be your PPFilter, it is best to revert to a default one for working on tracks and try and create a generic look rather than one tailored to your tastes.

Cases in point, rework of Anneau du Rhin 2016 which already had a nice grassfx with some flowers supplied by @Mike08 I believe (summer, scattered clouds 12:30pm):

Before:

@__EASY__ rework:

And with Teretonga, Before:

@__EASY__ rework:

But yeah, the before are not great either, just trying to show the difference on how much of a punch (correct word??) they have lost.

Hi ! :)

The ambient light involved by the reworked tracks breaks all the weather conditions so for me, It’s not acceptable this level of darkness.
My monitor is well calibrated and I think all the vanilla tracks, for example, are well calibrated too ! ^^

Anyway, I kept the old ones which satisfied me, I essentially look at the road when I’m hotlaping and these "old" tracks by making still acceptable in their actual state with the help of the automatic updates with Content Manager.

The bumpy parts still a driving challenge here, from my side It’s interesting and make some roughness on some tracks... feeling which I can appreciate on "tracks with history", not like most of the tracks designed by Herman Tilke.

Cheers !

The easiest way imo is changing them with config ini like I´m doing for a long time now. Here for example the Symmons Plains ini someone asked for better grass.
Put the ini into ..\assettocorsa\extension\config\tracks\loaded\symmons_plains.ini

And if you inspect that ini you find a code block like this here:
Code:
[MATERIAL_ADJUSTMENT_...]
ACTIVE = 1
DESCRIPTION = grass brighter
MATERIALS = GRASS_EDGE_01_L
KEY_0 = ksAmbient
VALUE_0 = 0.775
KEY_1 = ksDiffuse
VALUE_1 = 0.425

As @norms posted, take the object inspector app, copy material name and use it in this short code to change ambient and diffuse the way you like. :)

Doesn't the fact that "With Adam's new one it's way too bright at 100% exposure" show that maybe your setup is too bright then? I don't know as I have never used that filter. If I set my filter to Sol_Extra like you say, it is still too dull. However, what I do know is that on Teretonga, the ksDiffuse of most objects (as if changed in bulk) is set to 0.02 and that in itself is just too low.

I completely agree that the before pictures dont look very realistic. Which is why it is good that Easy is working on updating them. However, Elio and I aren’t the only ones who have a gloomy dull look to the updates. Also see my previous post about the ksdiffuse level being too low.

I'm in the same ballpark. I don't use any fancy filters, and when I drive these recent updated tracks, I have to raise the exposure (Sol config app) quite a bit to make them look acceptable.
This while the majority of tracks are all OK, as is the view in other sims.

Whatever process @__EASY__ uses for this messed up a shader that I added to the track for the starting lights (ksPerPixelMultiMap_emissive) so I had to redo that part and repackage it. It seems like you might be doing this through automation and you're going to miss things like that.

Also the grassfx configuration was messed up too. There are textures in there that have sand and grass in the same texture and grass is only supposed to show up on green, but you changed the threshold to -1 which makes the whole texture grow grass. it made a bunch of brown grass like this:

instead of how it's supposed to be:

I very much appreciate the work you're doing to make these older tracks nicer looking, but with the way you're just churning them out it's like there's no care placed in the process to pay attention to the details. Anyway, this conversion (which got the link in the read me of the skin) is very good, "blackcelica" on RD only works on the best versions available for a track.;)

@gutbomb makes a very good point here.
@__EASY__ why not release your updates as new tracks so they don't overwrite the originals? That way people can compare them side-by-side and determine which one they prefer without potentially losing the one they DO prefer because it's already been overwritten by your updates.

But it deletes the original track which isn't really respectful to the original creator at all. Why not just release the new kn5 and/or extension folder instead then?
My point was, people don't get a chance to compare them side-by-side unless they do their own renaming/moving of original files first, and as a few people have said they sometimes prefer the original.

This.

That little dance over the last few pages which thankfully i didn't mess about with was:

Track posted with some nice updates on sharemods

Track posted again by some one else with few updates over riding the previous one..on sharemods..

Then same track updated BACK to how it was before by first poster...on sharemods...

Some of these updates are just grass and trees which could be given as a stand alone download which can be clicked on and off at will..

It is a bit like doing a skin and 'releasing' the whole car as a new mod..on sharemods..

Not everyone will agree, and EASY is doing a great service....i just think its got a bit out of hand.

For example if a person has downloaded a track, and spent time doing cameras, then it gets 'updated' as a new track...the cameras are gone....
Same with a skin... so maybe you start to think...why bother..

Thanks, glendale is good but more for mid power cars. It's for testing a GT3 I forgot to precise.

Awesome little track, great road texture, one of the very best, proper fun track to blast a car around on...

Just added an extension for new grass fx as currently none, just previous generation 3d grass.

Just add extension to track folder and delete or rename if you don't like it!

Yep - I've unwittingly overwritten (and lost forever) personal updates and unreleased track skins because of this. It's my own fault I suppose for not backing up the original files first or renaming the original track folder, but with several hundred tracks it's hard to remember which ones have been tweaked, and I was kind of working on the blanket assumption that the new updates would be objectively 'better' (eg containing GrassFX configs, for example). But some of these updates are overwriting tracks that already have perfectly good GrassFX updates in the first place, which just adds to the confusion.
The safest, kindest, most logical way is surely to release the track as a brand new one that will preserve the original so that the user can make an informed decision after the fact, or (even better) release the updates as a selectable skin and config.
I remember being rather annoyed when shortly after our overhaul of Maple Valley was released (as a new track) somebody quickly released an update that not only overwrote our track but also permanently removed several of its key features. Grrr...

Masscot: I don't think it's not respectfull because he don't forgot the name of author, and for the comparaison we have just to try the old before.

You're missing the real point which I hopefully explained above, but I disagree that overwriting a track author's files with your own isn't disrespectful, no matter how many times you credit the original author. You are basically deleting his work, rather than providing an alternative to it. It's saying 'my work is better' rather than asking 'is my work better?'.

And as for 'try the old one before', that doesn't help at all because the new track overwrites the old one, so if you decide you prefer the old one it's too late, it's already overwritten. Much better to be able to flip between the two and make an informed decision and the easiest and safest way to do that is to have two active versions, which requires the new track to have a unique folder name so that it doesn't overwrite the existing one.

https://mega.nz/folder/eE8z0CoB#4FJd5v4l7ClnrklqUysktg - Guerilla mods GT4 I would also recommend you go to they facebook group if you have that.

https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/1998-bmw-320i-stw-btcc.32489- BMW 320i STW/BTCC by Patrik Marek On race department which a user speedy2 has done a few skins for the VLN/NLS series.

http://assettomods.com/wtcr-2018-v2-0-pack if want touring cars glass these pack from maki123/delpinsky. They are numbers of skins on Racedepartment for this cars from the NLS/VLN series.

That's what I politely mentioned 2 weeks ago.
If you want to release a 'reworked' track every 10 minutes, you can not go into detail.
And what does 'rework' mean in this case?
Update shaders: take 5 minutes to tweak a few values to your liking, and apparently not always for the better
Add grass FX: copy the config file from another track into the folder, without tweaking. Takes 10seconds.
Add VAO: standard routine, take how many minutes?
Update outline, map and preview, mostly these are already there.

out of respect for the original creators I keep the name of the track, it's an update not a new track.
it's really ok to add some quick bits to the older tracks, all tracks look better with grassFX.
But when others work hours or days to really improve tracks, and in 10 minutes you re-upload it as your 'reworked' version... ?
I have noticed no form of respect in your posts or behavior.
If other modders would also immediately every fix little flaw in your releases, and post them 10 minutes later, this site would go crazy, and we all would be full time re-installing. No one would have time to drive any tracks. This is what happened to gutbombs release.

And please... I understand English might not be your maiden language. But 'reworked' means something else. You may want to lookup 'respect' too.

you're just the kind of aggressive person who just makes you want no to publish for the community.
