Strange, when I try to download this track, Sharemods site says only Files Uploaded.
But that's it. I tried another track and there all is normal... ?

That's not 'bent'; that's rotated counterclockwise. In ye olde dayes of mechanical tachs, they were often rotated ccw so that the rev limit was straight up...as is almost the case here. (In even earlier days, 'backwards' tachs like Smiths and Jaeger, would be rotated cw to the same effect.)

Fairly accurate. The anticipation is just ridiculous on the brain.
all arrived yesterday, and built onto the rig. Have to say its was a fairly painless process, a few sheets of 10mm AL, jigsaw and a drill to make adapter plates (those pedal mounts are WIDE) to fit on the VR3, but, a few hours of playtime later, I can honestly say the DD1 was everything I hoped for and FAR more, the difference being most noticeable not in the NM increase, but in the fact that all games I can now feel the tyre slip, where previously I could only feel it well enough to catch a slide in RF2 (reliably and repeatably), really changed how I can drive to the limit even in AC (as long as I dont touch a kerb which is insta-death). The NM increase of course adds to this because the wheel fights to correct itself automatically, and just easing up with my hands it sorts itself out.

By far still the best result is RF2 followed by AMS2. AC actually feels better than ACC for some reason, ACC feels "dull" like there is a filter somewhere, I checked all settings but cannot find it if it is on.

I dialled the overall power back to 35% only because some of the cars like the Oreca were just impossible to steer, I'll build up some upper body strength and turn my noodle lady arms into real arms before dialling it up any higher than that.

Good morning all. I have recently discovered a new rabbit hole, the new world of ac mods. I have found myself lost for hours enjoying all the cars and tracks. Thank you to all. :bowdown::bowdown:

Last night I had an issue with this car, Alfa Romeo GTA-SA from Miscellaneous Minutiae . Author Legion ? I start the game via CM, the screen would go to the loading page showing car and track info for apx 3-5 seconds, then I get the dialogue box with the message “unexpected error” then the game would just freeze. I switched modded tracks, same msg. I tried this car on Kunos tracks, same message. I tried another car and game loaded fine. I tried search info “unexpected errors” in this thread but not related to my issue.

Maybe this is an easy fix? Like when your TV has no power only to find out the TV is no longer plugged into the outlet. 💡

Thanks again for making this game “new again” and hopefully I will soon be able to dance with this Italian beauty.

Feel free to drop a comment at the blog, that way I'll get an email notification.
I've checked the car and all seems OK at my end. I have reuploaded the file just in case.
Warning that I have changed the folder name so please delete the old version first.

There's so much malware, spyware, shovelware and pornware bouncing me around on that dreadful site that I can't seem to get the d/l started. Please, can't you post it on some other site that doesn't make my grandmother faint dead away?

Use AdBlock extension in Chrome, and then also uBlock Origin, between these two cleans up the internet nicely, uBlock is extra nice because lots of site now detect adblockers and popup and "adblock blocker", uBlock lets you click that popup, including if they try change the code, and simply dismiss it for that visit and all future visits, this combo made RD legible for me, no spam-death, i can just get in, read what I need and get out.

uBlock also catched the adverts deemed "acceptable" by the makers of AdBlock who are softening up their rules..

The easier way of course is to just add an extension that temporarily turns off Java in Chrome, as all this spam-crap uses java applets to display. With Java disabled the web becomes a damn sparse place, its nearly empty ;), but uBlock has an option built into to disable java saved to site specific.

alot of drivers did this because as they are looking out forward, if they see the needles like oil temp or water temp in the middle they were okay. if they could see the Tach needle they knew they were getting close to redlining it. they did this so they also didnt have to glance down and take their eyes off the road.

tachs were installed like that so the optimal shift point would be when the needle was at total vertical, that way the driver knows to shift when the needle is pointed straight up, you don't have to read the tach, just a glance and you know when to shift.

universal bypass, privacy badger and adguard adblock extensions might help. those are what i use and i havent had ads on sharemods or any site for a while.

I know it's not bent mate. Feeling a wee bit pedantic today ?

Is there a method for altering the volume of a particular car’s engine sound, either higher or lower?
From an earlier post:

If there isn't already an ext_config.ini file for the car, create one via "<car folder>/extension/ext_config.ini" and add the following lines to it:

[AUDIO_VOLUME]
ENGINE_EXT = 1.0
ENGINE_INT = 1.0

This will allow you to increase/decrease the internal and external engine volume on a per car basis. A value of "1.0" is default - adjust to your liking.

You can actually add all these lines to you extension and set the mix however you like amongst all these elements:

[AUDIO_VOLUME]
ENGINE_EXT = 1.0
ENGINE_INT = 1.0
GEAR_EXT = 1.0
GEAR_INT = 1.0
BODYWORK = 0.1
WIND = 1.0
DIRT = 1.0
DOWN_SHIFT = 1.0
UP_SHIFT = 1.0
HORN = 1.0
GEAR_GRIND = 1.0
BACKFIRE_EXT = 1.0
BACKFIRE_INT = 1.0
TRACTION_CONTROL_EXT = 1.0
TRACTION_CONTROL_INT = 1.0
TRANSMISSION = 1.0
LIMITER = 0.1
TURBO = 1.0
RAIN_EXT=1.0
RAIN_INT=0.8
WIPER_EXT=0.8
WIPER_INT=0.6

I have a copy of Bahrain 2020 (1.12) that I'm using for a league race this weekend, there's a readme that says the following:

_etc/ext_config.2018 turn off rock, podium light, ground light, water light and top light 2
_etc/screen_static.kn5 no animation

I've got a couple of people struggling to obtain decent framerates (especially in VR) and assume those changes would make it less GPU hungry. What I'm failing to understand is what I do with those files!

I'm guessing I just copy them into the main track folder, but should I remove other files first?

I use Firefox with 0 ad-blockers, I dont run or have AV installed on any of my systems (for over 15yrs)
Grab from Sharemods and other "weird" places...
No virus or compromise, not once.

Antivirus software besided Windows 10 defender is for people that don't know how to use the internet imo.
But i gotta give you some respect for not using an adblocker lol :P Not me
